Your sexual orientation, your political affiliation, because it didn't matter,” Eaton says. “When people came together and the music came together it created this energy that you could cut with a knife it was so thick. Dead Heads who followed the band through the years did it because of the feeling they got from the shows. They couldn't get it anywhere else.”

Pugdog
Hmmm....I remain a straight man while enjoying Dead related shows...there are some things you tend to love all the way to your core. Women are one of those things, for me. My sexual orientation doesn't define me but it certainly doesn't wait at the door for me either. It's all good, too each their own...great read...makes me wanna see that setlist. The more I think about it, I think Rob was making a reference to Cavey. We don't all leave sexual orientation at the door in the sense your speaking. I know of quite a few folks that chase women during the show. I think he was speaking more directly to the openness and acceptance for everyone and anyone experienced at a Dead show. Just cause someone has a different sexual orientation than you and is at the same show is not going to prevent you from having a great time and sharing in the moment. At the show, we can all share in magic regardless of our own individual views.
Pugdog
Totally agree, I just found it funny this morning...still do But yeah, I understand...and once more, "it's all good, to each their own" ..there's no argument that Dead shows are places welcoming to all walks of life, it truly is a beautiful thing.
