goganious
I'm sure this has been done before. Nevertheless, I'm stuck at work right now with not much to do, so I decided to write out my dream Grateful Dead setlist. Its a bit long, and it includes an acoustic first set in the vain of the "Evening with the Dead" concerts. I'm generally not as big a fan of DSO elective setlists as I am of historic shows, but if DSO WERE to play the following show, I would be forced to change my mind. Naturally, its more fun to write out your OWN dream setlist than to read someone else's, so I encourage all you Starheads to list YOUR dream selist. Don't worry about realism or feasability. This should be an all-out, balls-to-the-wall, sweat-drippnig down your forehead kind of show. I'll be interested to see what you all come up with, as the Dead's catalogue is so diverse. Here's mine for starters: Set 1 (acoustic): Dire Wolf Crazy Fingers Mountains of the Moon Bird Song Uncle John's Band When I Paint My Masterpiece Set 2: Playin' in the Band --> Shakedown Street They Love Each Other Cumberland Blues Me And My Uncle Mama Tried Mexicali Blues Row Jimmy Bertha Sugaree --> Playin' reprise Set 3: Sugar Magnolia Scarlet Begonias --> Fire on The Mountain Estimated --> Eyes of the World The Other One --> Drumz --> Dark Star --> Let It Grow Viola Lee Blues Terrapin Station Morning Dew Encore: St. Stephen --> William Tell Bridge --> The Eleven Brokedown Palace After a show such as this, what could be left to be said? So, folks, what would YOUR dream setlist look like? Have at it.

Forum MVP anddave Posted March 29, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2010 With 4/1 coming up I am reminded of the excellent DSO show a few years back where the entire first set and much of the second was composed of encores. That was cool. Anyway here's a head-scratcher for today: 1: Sunrise, Help> Slip> Pockey, El Paso> Big River, Stir it Up, Foolish> Alligator> Eleven> Don't Ease 2: Dark Star> Samson> Terrapin> Other One> Drums> Space> Handsome Cabin Boy Jam> Dark Star> Wheel> Other One> Franklins E: Quinn> Casey
