Forum MVP FunkyBass13 Posted March 20, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 20, 2010 A word to the wise: it can be freakin blazing hot out there and the camp ground has ONE tree that I remember. If you are not one of the first 10 cars into the lot, you will have no shade at all. So be prepared with your gear.

drpinky
Pardon my cynicism but I fear the Furthur part of this festival could end up as Phil and Friends and Bob and Friends; just another opportunity for overcrowded jams with even more simultaneous guitars and more mediocre vocal performances on songs better sung by JK. Guest deadheadmike
I know quite a few heads on the west coast taking a pass on this one ... all waiting for 2-3 dayers at venues like the Greeks , Shoreline , Irvine Meadows and my personal favorite Ventura County Fairgrounds and most of them and myself are not interested in any opening bands , gives us the meat and save the potatoes , solo Hunter would work though ... anyone know if Cal Expo is still there in Sac , for some reason I think I heard the place was taken down ??? You nailed it. I debated going but after what i experienced on Phil's birthday, I am not comforable with special guests. Call me old fashion, but one lead, one rythm, and one bass, does the trick. It's a shame to say it but I don't trust Phil one bit....

Your kickin' yourself in the ass for going to that Phil birthday bust just like I kicked myself in the ass for trading the DSO Fillmore shows for the Furthur Fox shows , shame on me ... I think you would have also prefered the DSO Fillmore shows over that Fox debauchery ... live and learn , Brother !!!

Bobbymcgee36
per furthur.net: "What's the concert schedule? Furthur will headline Saturday and Sunday nights, and there will be other stages, activities, and artists on both days. Friday evening will feature a very special Furthur Open Aire Sound check and a late-night all-star jam. " I am hoping all the guest will get their time on stage with furthur on friday night

Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted March 28, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2010 who hasn't? its ratdog... Yep - I didn't bother going on .org to them how I and a couple of buddies left early from their last show here. I honestly don't know the last time I've done that (either posted on .org or left a show early).

So it's unanimous , passing up on or leaving a Rat Dog show early isn't the worst thing in the world and sometimes it's the best thing to do ...
