Forum MVP VincentPuleo Posted March 7, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 Read this story on as told by Jackie on his website... thought it was worth sharing.. "So there was this moment on the PLF spring/summer tour when everything made sense to me. We were in Columbus, Ohio scheduled to play at this wonderful outdoor ampitheater (the name escapes me now) and Levon Helm was about 30 minutes into his set when a horrific thunderstorm struck. It literally came out of nowhere. It was immediate. The downpour was intense and the wind blew the rain sideways and everything on the stage began to get drenched. Within seconds, guitar amps were shorting out and microphone stands were being toppled. Levon

fishman
Taper Ron and the rest of the people that make this FORUM a great place to come to have set some guide lines that some people just don't respect DSO topics are for DSO FORMS everything else is other bands. I find it very rude and dispectful to myself and the many other people that feel the same way. I wish that all FURTHUR topics would find there OWN forum or PHIL, BOB W or people would just respect were thing should go. How would you feel if you were a member of DSO and went on to the forum .In my many ,many show seeing the GD since 1977 and many ,many DSO SHOWS SINCE 2001 DSO IS BY FAR THE BEST SINCE JERRY left us . fishman
IMO this is PHIL and friends and it doesn't belong in general discussion it belongs in OTHER BANDS .And imo FURTHUR should get there own forum . It would be great if the bands could work together one out west and one out east but seems like FURTHUR is trying to hurt DSO and I find that true if you look at the schudle of the shows .ALL my money will go to see DSO they have been the best thing after Jerry for me so everyone enjoy whatever you do . Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted March 8, 2010 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 The interview told of one man's epiphany about the true depth and enduring power of this music, which thanks to each and every one of us is now entering its sixth decade. Placing it here is not an act of disrespect but rather celebration. That's what I believe, anyway.

Forum MVP VincentPuleo Posted March 8, 2010 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 Remember guys... Everyone knows how this small corner in the Grateful Dead forum world is different than most. Saying "F**k Phil, John, and Furthur" is completely wrong and resorting to the ways of ratdog.org in mindlessness. This was just supposed to be a nice story but ever since Furthur came to be it seems like everything not directly related to Dark Star Orchestra is "disrespectful" or a "slap in the face" to the band... This story tells of the spirit that DSO does such an amazing, mind-blowing, other worldly good job at carrying on...

I would hate to think that people thought of this place like ,org land... As for everything not related to DSO since Furthur came around, I agree with your thoughts on how certain people think of it as a slap in the face to DSO.... I think it's all bullshit... people can say whatever the want to say about anything on this board...

Jack Jones
Jack , no one understands more than me how much bigger things there are in life to worry about ... but telling someone you don't know and have never meet to not get their " panties in a wad "could heat the situation up even more ... think about that the next time you feel the need to interject .... I'm not really sure why this is considered inflamatory. Is it the reference to panties? Are you serious? Okay, please consider this rephrasing of my original post. Please don't get your briefs in a wad over such trifles. Or perhaps, Please don't get your underthings in a wad over such trifles. Or maybe, Please don't get your unmentionables in a wad over such trifles. Would this get the seal of your approval? I'm sorry, If the word trifles is offensive I'll have to break out my thesaurus. Regardless Mike, I will consider my infraction of board etiquette and refrain from furthur undergarment references.
