Who's heading to the Vic , anyone have any good places to eat or good things to do durning the day. Peace Dave :o

Actually that whole area around the Vic- esp at Clark and Belmont is one of the more eclectic hoods in Chicago. Just hit the street and you'll see some cool stuff.

If you can manage the EPIC wait time, the BEST burger of your life awaits you just a little farther west on Belmont:

yea kumas is probably the best burger in town, but you will have to wait awhile. Also hot doug's at roscoe and california, a few blocks from kuma's is regarded as the best hot dog in the city.....if you go on saturday thats when they have the duck fat fries

At dusk, head up the John Hancock tower to the Signature Room bar. Free admission and ride up, $10 martini and the best view of Chicago outside of a heli ride. Business casual dress there, otherwise (in tye-dye) go to the observatory a floor or two up from the Signature Room (it's about $15) but it's worth it at dusk / early eve (when the city is lit). This is a touristy thing to do, but I still do it occasionally after innumerable trips to Chi-town.

Grab a $15 cab ride straight down Clark St. and north 2 blocks to where Rush and State intersect - within 10 blocks up either street and in between is a ton of restaurants and bars - Tavern on Rush or Gibsons for a killer steak ($$$), Jilly's small happenin Jazz bar, Hugo's, Jay's.....etc. Very safe area. Wish I could make those shows.
