blazedandconfused
today I received some info from a very reliable source about the Furthur tour coming up in the new year... Back story: Every year a local dj hold a food drive for the local Helping Hand. While live he said bring in 5 bags, and he will hand out a pair of tickets to the widespread show next weekend. well already planning on going i headed to the store and got about 50 bux worth of food (price of one ticket). I donte food every year, and was going to go shopping tomorrow when i got paid, but this was like a little added bonus... so i get there hand him the food and he was like well i guess you would like these tickets, and i told him yeah, thats why i cam out, and told him i was planning on going to the show anyway... better i spend the money and help some people out then pay ticket bastard... well i wasn't even paying attention but i was wearing a Ratdog tour shirt from fall 07, and he commented on it... (by the way this DJ is an old hippie, even has a whole program where he plays nothing but dead, widespread and phish... but im getting side tracked...) after talking about ratdog, and the dead show in greensboro, and the dead in general, he commented about DSO and Furthur and how its great someone like me will be able to catch a show with someone who sounds like jerry on the stage with phil and bobby since i never saw jerry live (im 24, was 9 when jerry passed)... then we talked some about dso and mattson after about 20 minutes i had to get going, as i was about to leave he got excited... now for the good part: then he was like do you want in on a concert announcement not scheduled to come out until 12/4?? of course!!! so he tells me Furthur will be playing at the Bojangles' Coliseum February 10th in Charlotte... i was kinda skeptical at first but he was like we are already negotiating on getting win'em before you can buy'em tickets, and when they get to that stage, the concert is on... sorry for the novel but tonight was a good night!!! helped provide hungry people food, got 2 concert tickets basically for the price of one of a show i was going to, kept money out of ticketmasters' pocket, and found out some good news for feb!!!
