Forum MVP Grateful_Bruno Posted November 15, 2009 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 15, 2009 cool looking sets. I like the west L.A.>Wang Dang Doodle in the 1st set. and the entire second set is a great collection of tunes!
Forum MVP lookyloo Posted November 15, 2009 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 15, 2009 ...930, indeed the worst venue ever. Actually I forget the name but there's a place in Jersey that's worse!
subcooler
Actually I forget the name but there's a place in Jersey that's worse! Starland Ballroom-gets many votes for being lousy! Thankful DSO has been playing sweet venues in the Garden State(Count Basie/Welmont/State Theatre's to name a few)! Peace, Rob
Advisory Board Herdygerdy Posted November 15, 2009 Advisory Board Report Share Posted November 15, 2009 That 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' was SIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!! Great show, and yes, shitty venue!
Forum MVP Tea Posted November 15, 2009 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 15, 2009 That 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' was SIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!! Great show, and yes, shitty venue! There is no doubt that the venue left much to be desired. I found a great group in front of JK and we did our level best to move as best we could. There is also no doubt that both shows absolutely smoked! The Terrapin>>WDWDIIT with the Alligator out of space on nite 2 took everyone's breath away. Despite the venue, these were the best shows I have ever seen DSO play (out of the 15 or so). Can't wait for any copies that may surface.

Guest Lisacat
I just love elective shows.... and I'll say this- yes, the 9:30 club gets WAY too packed, its in a shitty neighborhood, and inside its pretty dumpy; however, the energy there is always pretty good (in my opinion from my experiences there) considering the circumstances and most of the venue staff are very kind. I'd rather be there than a place like that horrible shea auditorium in NJ with absolutely no vibe at all for dancing to grateful dead music. Too bad they can't all be like the Henry Fonda or Hampton Beach Casino..... Thanks for another great weekend.... PS-feel better Lisa!
Delilah Jones
I was missing Lisa SO much on Saturday night. Visions and Uncle John's Band are not the same without her. Feel better Lisa! Thanks for an awesome two nights. It was so great to be with the crew again. Love you guys!!!

Rat in a drain ditch, sardines in a can, it is all good because I love each and every one of you. Til Thanksgiving and Nokia... Hi Y'all, I hope a great time was had by all. Kind of a sad vibe on the JK deal. Our next shows will be the New Years Run. Big Thank You to sgrmag Joe for the tickets. Sell out caught me off guard !! My feeling about 9:30 club is that it would be O.K. if they just wouldn't sell so many tickets. The fire marshall must be on the take!! Take care everyone.........
