There were a few seconds Friday night when you and Steve, Ed, Chuck, Teach, Huck, and Dr B came to mind ...wishing you guys were there...but knowing we will dance together some other night.
Peace and Love,

We are very blessed to have DSO like we do in smaller shows. There are so many positive things about our times with DSO. I think back some forty or fifty years ago when we could see bands like the Grateful Dead or the Allman Brothers on Sunday afternoons in the park....and now many of these bands are impossible to enjoy in the big arenas and stadiums. I sometimes wish well for our band, thinking they deserve the fame and fortune of being big time rock and roll stars but then remember that would change their lives and probably be a turn off in the long run.
Peace and Love,
Doc
A few of us such as me have been listening to the Grateful Dead longer than you have been alive but I can't or just don't bother to remember years and even eras that various songs were played. For me, that it is being played "tonight" and I can dance to that song once again is the most import thing. I try to learn the years just so I can keep a reasonable conversation with you and other loved friends.

Doc
Red Rocks was in the plans but unfortunately a good friend and brother passed away and there is a "Celebration of Life" that they scheduled for the same day.

That was some wild carnival ride, with fast twists, rolling hills, a couple complete 360 turn abounds in the middle of an intersection, and the music turned up to max inside the car. At one point the driver stopped to have a quick smoke and I jumped out to pull the DSO poster off the wall of the building next door.
I m with MC. About this part of Atlanta (Buckhead) not being seedy enough. This is the high end district and not the neighbohood us old hippies grew up in. But i did find a spot around the corner from the Theather that was friendly. The Resturant/bar , Buckhead BBQ, is a family run little shack that has the warmest friends and best hickery smooked brisket around. Inside the Theather there was dance room only toward the way back but the room amplified the crowd noise which included lots of talkers there for the social event....just like Chastaine Park Amtheather but inside...same up scale folk out. On the town. But it was so good to share this time with several close friends who gathered here from all over the country.
Wow! Forty years ago last night. Could that be a hint of another Winterland tomorrow night? ...."The Music Never Stopped ;Tennessee Jed ;Funiculi Funicula ....."
Peace, and Love to All on the Road for New Years,
