Last night with C&K and Sue was another good show...last of my little run of three shows. I danced most of show even though I usually don t have the energy that I did years ago...maybe the friends next to me took a few years off my life and brought back that energy and fun and spark in my ❤️ heart Peace and Love Doc

Wonderful show with a C & K and Sue...interesting venue with lots of outside space along with tents and a large fire pit. I hope to revisit this place for other shows. " Can't find my way home...." was my favorite of the evening. Peace and Love, Doc

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Michael Doc Watson replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
Now that's the way it should be. The advertised cost ought to be the actual cost. There should not be extra fees added on for "the right to buy a ticket", "delivery charge", "print it charge" , "walk throgh the venue's door charge", "listen to the music charge", "extra dancing charge" " and now this extra insurance charge to convince you that the ticket we just sold you is not a fake ticket. One late night Rudd asked me how much was the ticket the first time I saw the Grateful Dead. I had to think a bit to remember but told him it was free !...There was no ticket because it was a free show in the Park. Peace and Love, Doc -
"Stella Blue" by Holly Bowling on a big grand piano just about ten feet in front of me last night in a small "City Winery" venue. That young lady amaizes me how she can play.

I'm with Huck on this. I want an actual piece of paper in my pocket...although I do tend to lose them in my many pockets. Best of all is having a true old fassion ticket to add the torn off stub to my collection of fifty years of concert tickets. Peace and Love, Doc -
What's that touch of white in Diesel's nose?

The Jerry Garcia Band was flowing out the open windows when I arrived at work one morning. After getting out of the car I heard the mockingbird on the post overhead sing Jerry's guitar licks over and over several times. -
Apparently she didn't have anything really serious in the bag. She said they found her weed and boose but let her keep those. Savanna said that the cops said to each other that she was not the one they were looking for and then let her go free.

I heard from an old friend, Savanna, that she was not treated very well by the local cops when she arrived on Friday. They took everything out of her bag and apparently did not treat her kindly. The total search thing happens to the best of us and should be expected at some other venues. But she was very upset about the situation. I think she said that they made her lay flat on the ground while they empted her bag. Savanna used to tour with the band when her husband was road manager many years ago. I had the impression that Savanna is in better condition that the last few years and in some ways has her act together better. But she still needs our love and help. Peace and Love, Doc

I don’t think I’ve ever been called a mountain before. In the back row to the left of Tea and me, we see Mike and then I think that is Rudd peeking around Mango who is right behind Poetry Girl with Joe on her right side. Between MC and his family are two smiling faces along with Scotty in purple. Who is that down low on our far right peeking around Amy and just in front of gr8fulpair?

I hear those two have now gotten on the bus. Tea inspired them last year to check out what this music and friendship is all about. They contacted me (being the elder statesman for the group) and after I sent them some music they insisted I take them to a D&C show. We had a good time but they complained the music was too slow for their taste. We will see them on the rail tonight at Bear Mountain. Peace and Love, Doc

"So if you're going out to Carolina Then don't linger in New Mexico And if you think of the one there behind you Then you might not feel so alone" "And if the stars didn't shine on the water Then the sun wouldn't burn on the sand And if I were the man you wanted I would not be the man that I am" Peace and Love, Lyle Lovett

As MC said, best late night spots are down by the creek at Super 8 and the houses of friends on the mountain side. Less than two weeks now...13 days if I can count that high. Peace and Love, Doc

You can't offended us any more. You have lost all your Ruddness. You have become too mild and modest. You are just a softy and can't dance with the best of us since the foot incident. . But we still love you, Rude as you are. Peace and Love, Doc

I keep looking for some other old folk to hang with. All you youngins are just to fast.

Joseph was exceptional in seeing ALL the shows. One year he was bragging that he saw more shows than the two drummers. ( Both Dino and Rob had been out a couple days for special reasons). But what I really don’t understand is how for three years in a row he managed to get the only parking spot directly in front of Variety Playhouse. And it wasn’t that he just got there early. “Sometimes you need to accept you're old and in the way.“ Sometimes I might be in the way but I'm not accepting that I'm old. Peace and Love, Doc

Just one month until the spring tour starts in Florida. -
Make the best of that time, Rob. Family can be the most important aspect of our time. The life on the road was just too hard on many rock stars. Peace and Love, Doc

per Wikipedia... Nebraska Aircraft Corporation's flying school in Lincoln "From an early age, Lindbergh had exhibited an interest in the mechanics of motorized transportation, including his family's Saxon Six automobile, and later his Excelsior motorbike. By the time he started college as a mechanical engineering student, he had also become fascinated with flying, though he "had never been close enough to a plane to touch it".[9] After quitting college in February 1922, Lindbergh enrolled at the Nebraska Aircraft Corporation's flying school in Lincoln and flew for the first time on April 9, as a passenger in a two-seat Lincoln Standard "Tourabout" biplane trainer piloted by Otto Timm.[10] A few days later, Lindbergh took his first formal flying lesson in that same machine, though he was never permitted to solo because he could not afford to post the requisite damage bond.[11] To gain flight experience and earn money for further instruction, Lindbergh left Lincoln in June to spend the next few months barnstorming across Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana as a wing walker and parachutist. He also briefly worked as an airplane mechanic at the Billings, Montana, municipal airport." "Lindbergh left flying with the onset of winter and returned to his father's home in Minnesota.[14] His return to the air and first solo flight did not come until half a year later in May 1923 at Souther Field in Americus, Georgia, a former Army flight training field, where he had come to buy a World War I surplus Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" biplane. Though Lindbergh had not touched an airplane in more than six months, he had already secretly decided he was ready to take to the air by himself. After a half-hour of dual time with a pilot who was visiting the field to pick up another surplus JN-4, Lindbergh flew solo for the first time in the Jenny he had just purchased for $500.[15][16] After spending another week or so at the field to "practice" (thereby acquiring five hours of "pilot in command" time), Lindbergh took off from Americus for Montgomery, Alabama, some 140 miles to the west, for his first solo cross-country flight" sorry about the non music space but she asked, Peace and Love, Doc

Cornmeal was indeed a favorite band. Travel to see them? Yes, I would, especially in the years that Allie was playing that fast fiddle. I think it was at Scott's wake in Chicago that Chuck and I first heard them. Apparently Cornmeal is now on the shelf or maybe just the back burner for now. A little search revealed they had a couple shows this past spring but nothing on their schedule right now. Peace and Love, Doc

Actually it was Tea that confessed to the two in blue (one a lady and the other I'm still not sure of, no offense intended ) Tea admitted it was his juberant singing and promised to quite down. Afterward we moved from the motel's balcony to the tables beside the fast flowing creek where we should have been in the first place. There we stayed for a few more hours enjoying the time together as friends, reliving good times, and putting together the set list as best the group could remember. Peace and Love, Doc
