This new venue, Coca Cola Roxy, is actually located between Atlanta proper and the suburbs and just off I-75 and I-285. It will be an easier drive for us Dead heads now living outside town than going all the way to Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points area where many other older folk are afraid of the free people there. I think that after we eventually get over the C19 stuff this venue will be sold out. Unfortuntly I could not attend the shows because a few days earlier I was in the emergency room and hospilized for a whole week. I'm doing fine now and finally back home. My tickets did not go to waste for a good friend of ours who you all know was able to pick up the mircle tickets from me during a good welcome visit at the hospital. Peace and Love, Doc

Z-Man is a live recording ACE and a nice man. He does a lot of Dead music around the Atlanta area. Peace and Love, Doc, who missed these shows due to an emergency stay of over a week in the hospital, I'm fine now and finally home.

Hope to see you there next week. Peace and Love, Doc

Songs that were teased.
Michael Doc Watson replied to Greg from Chestertown's topic in Random Thoughts
I don’t know if this counts as a tease or as a hint but several years ago at Varity Playhouse I was hanging out with the band long before the show. At sound check I was at the rail with almost no one else in the venue. Dino and Rob said to each other, “We should do “Weirwolves” with a voice level I thought was strangely loud for talking to each other with nothing else going on at the moment. Apparently they wanted me to hear them. I had forgotten it was Halloween night and DSO opened the show playing “Weirwolves of London” Peace and Love, Doc -

I plan on being back on the bus too after two serious operations and finally being home again just two days ago. Hopefully I'll have enough energy by then. If I can make it, Dr B should too. Peace and Love, Doc -
A few years ago at the Sweetwater 420 Fest in Atlanta it rained cats, dogs, and frogs. The band was under a roof but at the rail we were soaked. At one point the rain changed from a downpour to dumping buckets on us and the crowd let out a mighty cheer for the storm as the band played on. Peace and Love, Doc

A very good idea for DSO to reconise the graduation of a good fan. Along with many others, we support this idea. Peace and Love, Doc

JBL 4350 speakers with added Altec horns. "He built a dedicated listening room within the warehouse of his import-export business, where he stores his large collection of profession reel to reel tape machines and master tapes. He goes to the listening room daily to tinker with his toys. Wilson has to wear hearing aids in order to conduct conversations unless the surroundings are very quiet." -

Here is a link to an article that some of us might be interested in reading. It is mostly about the sac player, Clarence Clemons, but contains information about the Grateful Dead from a non deadhead view point. https://www.psaudio.com/article/when-jerry-and-the-big-man-almost-busted-this-city-in-half/ -

All good thoughts and ideas to ponder over. Discussions could solidify opinions but not bring truly solid answers. Maybe the truth of these questions is different in various lives. Does the catapillar eating the leaves off my tomatoe plants cause more beauty than the butterfly ? Peace and Love, Doc -
dark black hashish saturated with opium was very best while listening to "Dark Star" when it first came out on the album in the early seventies

Randy, a whole crew enjoyed the show by way of your tickets. I had 4 miracles to give since my brother is on the injured list too. Before the show I was in the nearby bar which was packed with deadheads. There was a little note hanging from the edge of the bar saying I had miracles available. Then I turned from talking with Charles and Themia to find a nice lady next to me. After a bit she decided to go the show. She declared it to be a date with me but I declared no commitments. As time progressed we headed through the light drizzle of rain to the Palace. We quickly rounded up a few that had one finger in the air. I led the group to the door thinking " This is some encourage I ve got here, a beautiful lady, a young hippy couple, one in the oven, another middle aged hippy, all led in by the oldest man at the show" We checked out downstairs seat locations but I let them all know I was headed upstairs where my other good friends would be dancing. While wondering around I discovered your seats were on the very front row of the balcony. I told the usher there was no way I d stay on that cliff's edge. My long time friends started arriving ...good to see my family again. We filled the open space with a row of twenty dancers the whole show. After a bit your guests found their way from below and joined our dance party. At set break the couple said that at the Jubilee I had given them fresh aloe for the badly sun burned girl. Then I remembered them and was pleased the lady had recovered. Hmm? Jubilee was eight months ago. I think they will name the baby "Sunshine". Peace And Love, Doc

I loved the Jerry Garcia band first set. I ve been enjoying that music more than straight Grateful Dead. My older brother, Cary, who has gotten on the bus in the last few years, preferred the second set of GD songs which he was familiar with. Peace and Love Doc

Yes, that s what happen per my notes. I was texting song by song the set list with twisted comments live as it happen to our party line of friends down South, including Tea. Peace, Love, and Happy New Year Doc

That friend here in Albany couldn’t go so I don t have any debs on the tickets. Latter today I’ll watch for someone near the Palace and maybe be able to pass along a miracle. If no-one here on the forum asks for them it might easiest to transfer etickets to me about 4:30 pm this afternoon and I can have the guest come in with me Peace and Love Doc

Hi Randy, of coarse I remember you. Sorry to hear about your injury. My older brother is in a simular situation but as of this morning he says he is good to go. We are checking with a deadhead friend if he wants to go and will know in a couple hours. We will stay in touch today. If some other foreum friends need the tickets before I find out, go ahead and transfer to them. Peace and Love Doc

I'll be traveling from the sunny South to Albany to take my older brother to both shows this week. I hope to see some friends there. Who else will be at the shows? Peace and Love, Doc

Scarlet, Welcome to this friendly place. Interesting that your map placement shows "Jersy", off the coast of France, other than the "New Jersy" Peace and Love, Doc
