  1. I know! It could be GratefulFest West! Or not.

“She was definitely a knowledgeable deadhead in her mid 60s...” Seriously? How can anyone that old have anything approaching a working knowledge of a youth phenomenon like fun in general and music in particular?
  5. I realize I have very little credibility here due to lack of show attendance in recent years. But as an original member of the Children of the Rugs, an attendee and dancer (such as it is) at a goodly number of shows over a goodly number of years, and an overall proud fan, I think I have a decent perspective of what works on this side of the rail. As far as DSO at festies goes, I speak as someone who saw a lot of GratefulFests as well as Jubilees up to two years ago, not to mention Mighty Highs during the band's tenure there. Sacrificing valuable dance turf to fire spinners who formerly were off to the side (stage right, I believe) is at best thoughtless in the true sense of the term. At worst it may be deemed, even if not intentionally meant that way, a comment on the relative worth of deeply devoted fans. In any event, it does not work. Neither do cigarettes. Nor do cell phones. Save it for Taylor Swift.
  6. An empty void without easy access to porn or kittens. It was a hell of normal human interaction.
  7. For the first several years of my DSO career I either traveled solo or with my LV buddy Eric and otherwise didn’t mingle much. I talked more to band and crew than I did to other fans. That began to change thanks to the earliest iteration of this forum. Through TR’s masterpiece here I came out of my shell and sought folks out. The first ones were Dr V, Looky, the Herd, and Scott. Then Doc, Teacher Matt, the China Cats, James, August West, Susan Angelina, Dr Barry, the Steves, Christophe, Blythe, Jordan, and it was off to the races. Mango, MC, SVT in all her incarnations, Man in Green, Hypnotist Collector, and so many more! Many shows and a couple of full tours later I’ve come full circle. I treasure those times more than words can tell. New ones come and old ones go, most can still be seen if you poke around, but Scott is the true constant. I owe a debt of thanks to so many here that can never be fully repaid. Scott embodies the best of the best. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  8. Tea said it - love you brother! Been a long long time to be gone...

Glad you all are on the road again. Really wish I was there with you.
  10. Yes. It's been...too...long since you last...shared your wit...and wisdom. And we...could use some of Dear...Abby's charm and...advice plus...a dose of Inspector Callahan's...tough love in...these...benighted times!
  11. You can get the cover sheet here. https://eltrantsreviewsreflections.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/tps_report-1.png
  12. Silver Spoon!! And 3/5s of a mile in 10 Seconds!!! Alone worth the price of admission! Thank you for the share. Slowly but sure the encore potentials are coming true. Your mama told you neverTo eat your friends with your fingers and hands...
  13. ... you’ll crack the walls! That would be an outstanding choice.
  14. The Airplane has a wide and varied body of work. Grace was full throttle on a lot but by no means all of them. I can figure out many that it wouldn’t be but can think of a lot that could still be candidates. Ah well, mysteries are one of the spices of life. Some day all may be revealed.
  15. As a Planehead I’d love to know the Grace song.
  16. Thanks! I would groove hard to the TH songs too. Like I do when Cheese plays Naive Melody and Nothing But Flowers. Or when DSO played Up All Night. Or the band occasionally known as Terrapin Nation (been way too long) played Nothing But Flowers. Or when the lady formerly known as my wife and I saw two shows of the Stop Making Sense Tour. Now that was good clean youthful fun... I acknowledge I didn’t see any of these last night. But I did see DSO and Cheese recently. 😎
  17. A band I would like to check out is Pink Talking Fish. That combination of covers and the resulting set lists push most of my musical buttons. And at around $20.00 to $25.00 per ticket (not counting fees etc etc etc) the price is right for upcoming SoCal shows. We will see...
  18. Thanks, Huck. Would you please tell that to DMV? I am now of an age where I have to go in person to renew my license. On the other hand, the Senior Citizen discount at the Cracked Egg is nice.
  19. “Sometimes you need to accept you old and in the way.“ i accepted that a long time ago. Joseph was the man. I remember his first days, when a legend was being born. He held the rail like no one else. Let the shows be y’all’s, I’m done with mine. 😎
  20. What sustains me through the long dark nights and piercingly bright days is the certainty that no good deed goes unpunished.
  21. Performing 9/6/83 Filler: You Can Never Tell My cup runneth over. Again, thank you.
