Now I’m really torn but I can’t get any money back on my bnb now but sages and spirits announced shows here in Colorado the 19th and 20th.
-
Okay so I have to request it. I’ll get on that tonight or early tomorrow trying to soak up the last of Hawaii I can. One last sushi dinner.
-
Ya that makes it a little bit better. 1k of my airbnb was no refundable plus. Some of my flights aren’t refundable with babysitter. Like I said we still going but be nice to have that 1k back on the tickets for the next opportunity to party. Jubilee is gonna be fun but thanks for the update. Where’d you see this? The jackass’ website still says no refunds on his bull shit letter.

Last time money was tight I even had to borrow some funds to get to the end of the line. This time we are capable of a much different trip. We still doing budget lodging the nights of the shows but on the days off we staying in hotel with a view of Eiffel Tower and a 5 star hotel steps from buckingham palace in London. Also gonna do a 2 nights and one full day in Lisbon Portugal on way home. By the water, try to recuperate before the return to the real world.
-
Flights booked. Gonna have to head out off and back into Chicago for the direct flights so will still need to figure out how I’m getting too and from Chicago but Chicago to Paris, Paris to London, and just to top it off London to Lisbon, before we head from Lisbon back to Chicago. Europe giddy up

Possibly best day in Hawaii yet. We did a snorkel boat trip this afternoon. Got to swim with the turtles and all the fishes. Saw a monk seal. 2 whales and 4 dolphins. Kids had a blast. Such a great day. Made ribeyes on the grill at the resort. Big feast. Place is pretty amazing.

Just booked hotel and bought tickets maybe takes the skull and roses sting off a little bit.

We’ve committed to sante fe Vegas San Diego and Berkeley.

We still gonna go the Ventura beach for some family time and hope Cubensis or someone pulls off some music for us. The no refund is a real punch in my nuts. He can say he feels our pain but feels like a total scam job at this point. Collected our money in bad faith to pay off last years debts. Almost no time to pivot your 420 plans to something else. Just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t think I can go back to this festival regardless of the line up going forward. Just a total fuck you from this guy. And I know it’s wishful thinking but I know Jerry and the Dead would find a park to play a free show in.

I love that you're in Bill. London is my birthday plan to do it big.

Looking forward to skull and roses. Ventura is a happy medium between Honolulu and sugar beach. Our Airbnb has a solar heated pool. One thing I can say for sure is my life is blessed. I have this beautiful family this beautiful music and community. Life really is wonderful.

The Hawaii theater worked. And Waikiki made a lot of sense based on where the venue was. A lot of nice shops and restaurants as well. But crowded like a city. It was a city with a beach. Kids still loved it. Our rental here at sugar beach has a full kitchen and access to grills. I'm cooking most of our food here. If and I know it's a big if we pull off Hawaii again. I'd probably lean towards 3 not 5 days in Honolulu and then spend 7 days in a less populated part of the islands. But I understand the necessity of the nice theater to play in. Place sounded good even with seat we were able to find ample dance space. Shows were a lot of fun. I'll try to post some of Whitney's pictures from Maui though. Just gorgeous view from our balcony and we gonna do a luau while here and take kids on a whale watching excursion.

Maui much more my speed than Honolulu. Sugar beach resort has a beautiful pool. Private beach and private beach access. The view from the lanai is breathtaking.

So all could scream no at you. What are you doing to teach discipline and respect. If one of my kids (older) yells no at mom or I, they instantly have a look of serious regret on their face. They no that there are consequences.
-
I guess only one way to find out. Sunset dance party across from the McDonald's Waikiki beach. Need an excuse to buy a bigger more powerful speaker box
-
Btw if you like to dance I'm upping my daily cardio and dancing half speed a little every day for a jubilee explosion.

I may actually buy a rental property here. Short term rental bnb type deal and save 4 weeks a year for us to get out of the cold and off the mountain. We hear a few days early but would love to see some familiar faces here. Maybe a long shot. Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart. Kids love the water can't get enough of it. Both got jelly fish stings today. Sidelined them for about an hour each but went back in to the water with reckless abandon.

We our bringing Rick jr. to the outdoor show in Denver. The whole family. No babysitter. A certain guy that plays for these guys made it seem like he'd like that happen. Mish is for mom and dad. Vail may or may not even happen. Denver is all family. Boulder just isn't a great spot for kids. We'll go but come right home after show. Babysitter but no overnight sitter. Fairly balanced Colorado run. Europe will be just me and my beautiful lady. Kids can't miss show and we need time to remember us and our passion for each other and love. Jubilee is same deal as last year with hopefully a little more grace. Really not sure what else we catch this year. I can't even say the Greek is a definite. But hopeful. I feel like the peak is probably a sure thing.

I don't think rude and I need to work anything out. We just break each others balls here on line. I got massive love for that dude. Travelled from to show to show with him at times. He will tell you I helped him figure some stuff out and I'll tell you he always tried to be there for me and has had some degrees of success. Sometimes I'm still trying to catch her. Kids change you we both accept that and understand that. I choose to believe that the scene depending on the venue is family friendly. My kids could never get lost at jubilee even if they successfully ran away. My community would identify they were with us and find us looking for them and be the four winds that blow them safely home. So many of you would step up and defend them if someone tried to put them in danger. Do I think rude is full of crap that his kid couldn't handle a show. Absolutely I don't think he could handle the show with his kid. He clearly states this is an escape for him. For me, it's more a way of life it's where I find myself and ground myself. Sharing those times with my kids is really important. Sometimes I fail to be there while I'm being honest to the point of recklessness. Seeing Delilah dance to the dead is one of my biggest joys in life. By the way I lied I know rude could handle the show with his kid. He's a great dad. I'm sure of it and he would sacrifice his experience for his kids. He just has to be willing to take that step. And girls run wild too. At skull and roses one year Delilah takes off running. She hates peeing in port of potties and I chase her and she keeps running further away. Finally she pulls up her dress and pees right in front of a vendor booth. Sometimes the kids enjoy it and sometimes they are a drag but either way we spending time together. I don't see anything more important than that. I could tour straight for 10 years and either end up dead or broke. My dad was one hell of provider. However he escaped every night after work into a bottle of scotch. He didn't spend much time with me. I have some early memories but those memories became fewer and further between. My mom tried to make up for that but kids need their dads not just their dads money. My mom even came to the first set of a dark star show. She said she liked the music just didn't understand why we had to do so much drugs. rude I got nothing but respect and love for you brother. We're I grew up if I didn't bust your balls you weren't my friend.

I used to see a lot more shows too. But I'm not abandoning my children by going to the Europe shows. My kids are coming to Hawai’i. We doing a 10 day vacation there. Kids at shows can be tough that's real and honest. It a big sacrifice to give up your escapism and selfishness and allow your kids to be in that space with you. To see your joy but also know that they still come first. You'll leave early. You'll go for that walk. We bring a babysitter to some of these shows cause I won't totally give up my selfishness.

That last comment was the expected one. By the way, Omaha was the first place I laid eyes on Whitney. Definitely a special place.
-
Truth be told I don't go to shows to scope out chicks. And I'm taking Whitney to the stones be chicks like that all over. Dime a dozen. and no one can do them all.
-
Do know what I knew I could count on? When DSO made this announcement, Rude would have something to say but have no actual interest in going. They play London on my birthday. Sure beats Omaha.
-
We leave for Hawai’i on Tuesday morning.

So the doctor asked us what music we listen when Delilah was born. Whitney said Grateful Dead. Doc put on a spotty or some kind of mix based off the Grateful Dead. Delilah was born while morning dew was playing.
