I had heard a rumor that could not go into any detail about some bad blood between John K and DSO. I talked with one of Melvin's roadies this afternoon about this rumor. He as well could not go into specifics but he did confirm this. Let's just say that John would have been uncomfortable being here so he declined.

I am heading there today with recording equipment in tow. Just a heads up, I have a very busy week when I get back, but I promise to get them up as soon as possible. Oh by the way, my eyes are feeling much better now.

I got struck with a touch of Pink Eye just days before the feast, but I will be there clear eyed as much as possible to enjoy.

The stream for the webcast for Dead & Company was wonky last night, so another option presented itself. It was a live stream on facebook from The Sweetwater Music Hall of the Green Leaf Rustlers last night. I first saw them at Jam in the Sand last January. It was an excellent show with a great setlist. I did get the recordings for the Dead & Company show which I am listening to tonight. December 31, 2019 Green Leaf Rustlers Setlist at Sweetwater Music Hall, Mill Valley, CA, USA Setlist Set 1: Bright Lights, Big City (Jimmy Reed cover) Truck Drivin' Man (Terry Fell cover) Honky Tonk Song (Mel Tillis cover) Portland Woman (New Riders of the Purple Sage cover) Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms > ([traditional] cover) Blue Suede Shoes (Carl Perkins cover) In the Jailhouse Now (Jimmie Rodgers cover) Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line (Jim Alley and the Alley Cats cover) Be Real (Sir Douglas Quintet cover) Big Mouth Blues (Gram Parsons cover) Set 2: Bony Maronie Every Time I Hear Your Name (Keith Anderson cover) Well Come Back Home (The Byrds cover) Wooly Bully (Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs cover) Guacamole (Texas Tornados cover) 24 Hours at a Time (The Marshall Tucker Band cover) Waymore's Blues (Waylon Jennings cover) I'm a Ramblin' Man (Waylon Jennings cover) Ride Me High (J.J. They officially released this show as a soundboard recording. At the time, I felt it important not to risk my microphones to the rain. That is why I did not record it. I have taken steps so that will not happen again. Come rain or shine, I will record the shows I attend. Here is the link to that soundboard recording: https://www.nugs.net/live-download-of-dark-star-orchestra-red-rocks-amphitheatre-morrison-co-09-08-2019-mp3-flac-or-online-music-streaming/23129.html?cgid=ARTIST-291#sz=12&start=1

Turning on the wayback machine, I remember being a sporty guy who skied and would listen through headphones that came with the walkman plenty of shows while skiing. There was such a rush as to dance while skiing while heading down a mountain slope. This is a memory that I surely do miss. Thanks for letting me bring it to the surface as we plunge headlong into another winter season. I believe it was one of things that made the season so unbelievably bearable. I can't wait to see this film.

Yep. That was me that you met. For the two WI shows, I was the lone taper for those. I just posted a link for the Madison show on that thread. the bump wasn't that bad afterall. Thanks for you words of praise. My therapist keeps telling me I need to give myself a pat on the back. It is hard to do being a perfectionist Virgo and all.

I had problems with my levels this night, but my friend who I mentioned earlier in a previous post had put up three of his recordings for this night on the archive. Here they are: https://archive.org/details/dso2019-09-30.32bitFloatFlac16Berliner https://archive.org/details/dso2019-09-30.32BitFloatFlac16BusmanBSC1Omnis https://archive.org/details/dso2019-09-30.from32bitfloat_Neumann

This is the end of my little run with this show at my hometown show. The band recreated the following show: Orpheum Theatre, San Francisco, CA (7/17/76) Promised Land Mississippi Half-Step Mama Tried Deal New Minglewood Blues Peggy-O Big River Sugaree Johnny B. Goode Samson and Delilah Comes a Time drums The Other One Eyes of the World The Other One Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad One More Saturday Night U.S. Blues Not Fade Away Filler Mission In The Rain White Rabbit I did record this as well. I want to give a shout out and a big thanks to a fellow taper Cliff Morse with whose help it was to make this recording better than the other two. All it took was a flip of switch and presto better sound.
