  1. I just read about his passing. We lost a good one. I always liked how he described Garcia after his passing and how people tend to grow into legendary status as they are remembered over time. Crosby said that Garcia really was that great of a man when he was alive. I feel the same about David Crosby. Legendary while he was here.
  2. Somewhat unbelievable that cowboys kicker missed four extra points, especially in the two point conversion era. I was stunned after the third miss. The coach owned that one, shoulda gone for two, I thought. Coaches pull receivers after a couple of dropped passes. I’m guessing the coach figured that Brady wasn’t going to catch up and be a threat to their lead at that point. I’m really not sure what I am talking about, I slept through most of it.
  3. Lostlivedead.blogspot.com has an in depth article about the show. Very interesting stuff. Once again, I learned something that I didn’t know about the Grateful Dead. So cool after all these years. Kudos to Dark Star Orchestra for pulling this one out of the hat.
  4. Jacksonville QB has a lot of youth in him. He’ll be better if he can mature properly in the NFL, if he lasts that long. That one interception early that should have been a penalty instead, if that was Brady he’d be screaming at the refs, veins popping out of his neck style. Trevor seems to be more worried about his hair. This is war, go fight.
  5. I would use the first set Brent tune to hit the bathroom and get rid of all the beer I drank earlier in the parking lot. Realized that I was making a mistake, I would drink less, make sure I didn’t miss any Brent. I quit drinking Father’s Day ‘95, eight days before my last Grateful Dead concert, RFK. Got a Warf Rat in the second set Ballad slot that nite. Another instance where I was sure Jerry was singing ta ME !
  6. No drums/Space. Thought that was a regularity by then. Are we suffering from irregularity here?
  7. Listening to the original show now. Caught the Grateful Dead movie for the first time at the Tower Theatre in 1981. Neighborhood theatre on the outskirts of PHILadelphia. My buddy who I have been to about a dozen GD shows with caught the Jerry Band there on Halloween the same year. That’s all I got.
  8. Outside of the meat in the bird song sandwich, the acoustic set lines up with 1980 acoustic shows. In case you didn’t already know that.
  9. Raiders Mantra this year; ‘what do you want me to do, to do for you, to see you through?’
  10. Yea, should be a good one tonight.
  11. Got some ‘first time played’ in there? I’m guessing At least Delia’s gone, maybe wonderful world, Valerie.
  12. There’s a lot packed in there. No rest for the dancers. I love it!
  13. Second set pre drums looks like a bit of a roller coaster ride.
  14. I miss the good old days when cliff Branch and Fred Belitnikoff had huge wads of Stick um on their tube socks so they could reapply and stay out there. Carr has the top spot on consecutive games played and still counting. That’s gonna end. I hope Carr finds vindication.
  15. So, it looks like my Raiders are redefining the term ClusterFuck.
  16. I’m partial to the tunes that were in rotation and then came back and stayed in rotation as opposed to the ones that came back out for a one time played. I’m glad the thread stayed true to that.
  17. ‘Leave nothing but footprints’ is a phrase I remember seeing on the letter that came with the mail order tickets. Back in the day.
  18. I’m wondering if New Potato Caboose is the same New Potato Caboose from the late Eighties. Those guys were pretty good back then. One guy dropped out, they started calling themselves Radio Mosaic. They used to play Andy’s in Chestertown about once a month. Based in DC area?
  19. What would a chair look like if your knees bent the other way?
  20. You read my mind. My thought exactly while going through this exercise.
  21. A naive, inexperienced young man gets married, is not sure what to do on his wedding night. He calls his mother and asks her what to do. His mother says, ‘ lay down along side her, rub her belly, and tell her you love her.’ So he does just that. His new bride says, ‘oh, lower, lower.’ The man musters up his deepest voice, rubs her belly, and says, ‘I love you’. The young man calls his mother back and explains that that didn’t work. Mother says, ‘ take your most prized possession and put it where she pee pee’s.’ So gets his bowling ball and puts it in the toilet.
  22. Times played, 277. Second set placement, 14 times. That’s getting towards rare in the Grateful Dead universe.
  23. Yea, I don’t recall ever seeing a second set Candyman on any set list before. Being Deadbase free really drags out the suspense.
