Frederick, MD drive in shows 10/30-31
Greg from Chestertown replied to Rude's topic in Tour Information Hub
It was nice to meet you and hang with you Saturday, acududeman. I agree, gr8ful pair, I like the drive in concept. It will be better after covid, masks, and having to stay in your quad. I hope they sprinkle some drive in shows throughout the tours even after all this Covid passes by. -

Wow! Where do I begin? Such an adventure. From gathering the crew together, getting to the venue, to the time travel that the band took us on, back to 10/31/70. We played that game with trying to figure out the year of the show. We were thrown off by the combo of early tunes and two drummers. Crazy elective? When discussing at half time, we had to remind ourselves that there was a sliver of time when Mickey was in the band pre ‘74. Lisa’s absence helped us figure it out, gotta be pre ‘72. Lisa added harmonica on a couple of tunes but got to spend time on the sidelines being a fan, dancing and watching Dark Star Orchestra perform. I thought that was cool. Everyone in the band was tight, hot, and on fire! Nothing but fun from beginning to end. I really needed a show, been pressured, stressed lately, had a lot to shake out. It took all night, but I got that taken care of. Thankful that the band rocks as hard as they do for as long as they do. Another great night. Enjoyable set list. I like it when the band takes us back in time, before my time immersed with the Grateful Dead. Now it’s time to go ahead and say it. They’re not the best at what they do, they’re the only ones who do what they do. -

That sucks. I imagine the band and crew are going through the same thing trying to get to Fredrick and set up shop. Actually, these are the makings for some incredible shows. Merriweather post ‘85? -

I did early voting today. It’s the same feeling as doing your homework as soon as you get home from school. Oh, and wake and bake. -

I learned today that October first was a full moon. There will also be a full moon on October 31st, the second full moon in a month, also known as a blue moon. Kinda neat. Balls, said the Queen. If I had to, I’d be the king. The king laughed, he had two. -

Here’s a new twist on an old joke; Mike Pence walks into a bar with a fly on his head. The bartender says, ‘ can I help you?’ The fly says, ‘ yea, get this guy off my ass.’ -
I caught the original. High time and Brent rocking good golly miss Molly, Devil with the blue dress were the highlights. Throughout the entire show, a girl sat at the second level rail, facing the crowd, right in front of me, holding a neon orange bumper sticker that read, ‘ CAUTION, driver may be experiencing a hot Shakedown.

Random thoughts and randomness in general
Greg from Chestertown replied to Rude's topic in Random Thoughts
I love it. I have only done blotter less than ten times, shrooms less than ten also but hey, that’s enough to be able to relate. Like someone standing in line with me in Dewey explained it to me, if you’re discussing it with someone who has, no words are necessary, if you’re discussing it with someone who hasn’t, there aren’t enough words. When I was getting into it, I preached that I thought everyone should try it. I read once that the first time is life changing, all the other times is just recreation. I just celebrated the fortieth anniversary if my first trip. Me and another guy who had tripped before split the crumbs from the bottom of a bag that had had two hundred Microdots in it. We split it up on the hood of George Thorogood’s Ford Granada. His girlfriend lived next door. We dropped as the party ended, stayed up all night. Early the next night, I laid in bed freaking out because it wasn’t letting up. I kept hearing the voices of all my friends. After a while, my lady friend came upstairs and got me, brought me downstairs and led me into a surprise birthday party for me. WOW. Turns out the voices of my friends were real. While talking to someone while tripping, I have felt as though I could read their mind. I have painted the black Outlines Of the Stealie perfectly two feet in diameter on a dorm hall wall while tripping. I am not an artist, but I did it. My first trip included the puffy white clouds. We had them again yesterday morning. Puffy white clouds have a different meaning for me. I have sat in a deer stand watching the sun rise only to realize that the sun was sitting still and the earth was turning to bring the sun to me. That experience was decades after my experiences with LSD but I believe that my experiences with LSD enable me to see the world from a more enhanced perspective. It’s not a bad thing. Necessary? Debatable. Definitely not for the feeble minded. Or would it make the feeble minded better. The discussion continues ...... -
Gotta love ‘If I had the world to give’. I caught Jeff nailing that one in Dewey a few years back. Yup, showstopper indeed. Hard to believe Jerry and the boys only played it three times. It seems like one that could have evolved into a nice one that would be great to catch once in a while. Not too often, though. Gotta keep that one special. You would think maybe the Jerry band would have put that one in rotation. (They might have, I didn’t look.)

Random thoughts and randomness in general

So, for various and sundry reasons, I got into the habit of reading license plate numbers while I am driving. I noticed within the last month or so that new license plates that I have seen, here in Maryland, have a number, then the letters DSO and then three more numbers. I recall reading where Bill K works for the motor vehicle administration. Could this be a coincidence, or a covert, Star head operation, successfully pulled off by Bill or someone else, for the enjoyment of those Of us living in the Dark Star Orchestra world? -

Thing is, I’m pretty sure my mind is expanded enough. I thought this was about physical conditioning so I can handle two shows in a row. My program of eating the large Haagen-Dazs with a small shovel Just doesn’t seem to be working out. Speaking of working out, I thought maybe some crunches. Not too many, just a few. Maybe four or five next week. Don’t want to rush into this.

Wow! I’m speechless.
