Ah, another Sunday show, with that Sunday show feel, of course. Good crowd, minimal talkers. Met a lot of people catching their first show which I took as good for the band. Rob Barracco has influenza type A so they just had the keyboards and no player but went ahead anyway and played an elective set list. That gave us an interesting set list and a lot of Lisa. I have no problem with either of them. Two drummers. I just woke up and only one cup of coffee so far but here goes. I know I am drawing a blank on a couple of tunes that should be remembered first. Opener was one of those, Johnny B Goode, woman enough, greatest story that was killer with Lisa’s vocals, Second that emotion, NFA>GDTRFB, cryptically>other one> cryptical> morning Dew. It’s official, Jeff owns Morning Dew. That is his song. Sorry, John K, you have been replaced. Skip on vocals for Cripple creek filler. Obviously, many blanks in the set list. Help!

You can only get that show with Dark Star Orchestra. Every slice of the Grateful Dead pie is represented. The Dead never would have crafted that set list. They got it going on.

Weather forecast for Sunday show in Wilmington, De. ; Sunny and a high of 37. Better bust out the hippie winter attire. I’m predicting that more than 37 will be high by show time. Looking forward to it. Crazy random separate ticket purchases have me sitting next to my nephew and his wife. (Her first show). I believe the last time they played the Grand, John K. Was with them. , had my head in the speaker for his solo on Stella. Such a small venue would be great for some acoustic. We never did get those two acoustic shows at the Hamilton in DC., early victim of COVID. Just saying. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Also in Lost Sailor, Bobby sings, ‘till the chains of you dreams are broken.’ It’s a stand alone lyric, the way he sings it, I think. It always triggers deep thought when I hear it. -
That’s incredible, they got it going on. Funny, I read the set list, say to myself ‘Damn’, read the first response and it says ‘Damn’. Damn good set list.

Supposedly, the medical card is good because when it goes legal, you won’t have to pay sales tax on it when you buy it. -
By the end of the night, you will be surrounded by your friends.

Speaking of the Raiders, I’m wondering if Their coach will let Carr slip under the bus and get replaced so that no one notices that he’s the one who needs to be replaced. It’s surreal how bad the RAIDERS are.

I see it as a domino effect. When a state realizes they’re losing tax revenue to a neighboring state, time to approve recreational use. You’ll get there. -

I just voted for the recreational use of weed in Maryland today. You’re welcome. -
10/31/80, last of the acoustic run. One a day of these shows has been nice lately. I’m loving listening to them work on heaven help the fool. Just real nice.

A band I'm seeing tomorrow

Montana Wildaxe, 12/17, at the Queen in Wilmington, De. Tight local band that’s been around since the mid seventies. They can play Dead all night long but you could get some Whipping Post, Down by the River, maybe even some Superstition sandwiched into Dead tunes. They only play a few times a year anymore so it’s kind of a big deal. Ask Bixby, he knows. -
Their M O is to steal an away game and then go win em all at home. I’m having a blast watching the Phillies. I was at the game that got them the pennant in 1980. Laughing at the home games, thinking about how I danced all over that field on July 10th when Bobby played there.

Wow! I started in 2001 , didn’t realize that line up had just gelled up. I saw dark Star shows for a while before I caught get one with Lisa on Stage. Yea, JK sold me on Dark Star at first. I always said he needed to go with Phil And Bobby. I went too. Caught some shows. Enjoying the vibe at Dark Star shows much better after Jeff Joined up. It’s just chill. -
Thanks, Tea. That’s my basic thought every morning when I check in to the forums while the coffee is brewing. I try to exercise restraint and not post every thought I have to everyone else’s posts but thoroughly enjoy talking about all things Grateful Dead. Not an easy task for someone who is a known interrupter. Ask my kids. Forums are a Great help with getting to the show and back safely logistics. Details about a venue or city can be the ultimate in help. The Grateful Dead trivia games that get posted occasionally are a great way to survive until the next chance to catch a show. Gotta stay in tune and the forums do that for me.

Tennessee game was a blast. What was the tune that was playing on the stadium’s speakers while the fans stormed the field after they beat Saban? Found some joy in that.

Simple supply and demand for those three days of shows will drive their prices up. Tuesday is no longer available, thank you.

Samson & Delilah. I think that tune was on Peter, Paul & Mary’s first album, under a different title. Apparently a folk standard.

Hhmmm, deadbase free here, tried it once. It was alright. I’m guessing in the timing that it’s gotta be something off of blues for Allah. Now I have something to ponder today, thanks!

Thank you. I wrote a similar letter on Father’s Day ‘95. You’ll get there. You already took the first step, looking in the mirror and not being pleased with what you see. Keep that mindset that is in the letter. Be patient with yourself. …..comes a time….

QB is the leadership position. They’ll fight tooth and nail to not have that happen. I sometimes imagine a scenario where someone like that has some kind of horrible car accident and they wake up in the hospital, grateful to be alive. The person then gets introduced to the doctor who saved his life who just so happens to be black.

Poor Al Davis must be rolling over in his grave. Doctor I help out with his farm clued me in to a secret code they have in the medical community. FLK= Funny Looking Kid.
