Have a lovely weekend

Alpine is always a great way to remember TIGDH. imagine the freedom to do what you wish and dance on July 7, 1984 Terrapin out of space, with Bobby heard calling to Jerry to start it. Lovelight returns within a NFA sandwich. https://archive.org/details/gd1984-07-07.sbd.miller.94379.sbeok.flac16

Completely agree with every word of this, Vic.

Abear tears it up. He comes to AZ to join Xtra Ticket from time to time, which gives him a Bobby counterpart. Billy says he tore a muscle in his abdomen last week and is just sore but will be back shortly and is fine. Jay Lane jumped in for him at setbreak.

Anybody catch any shows? John, did you get to Shoreline? AC, Cincinnati last night? RudeDog? Colorado crew? First time for Fantasy/Jude as well as Foolish Heart….
-
Took a look into the Jacksonville, Oregon as well as the Saratoga, California venues that will be forever altered in late July/early August. If you care enough to read this post, I suggest you Google your way into them, too. They look very cool!

May 13, 1983. Berkeley, California. Greek. First ever Helena; check out the China Cat intro, where Bobby has guitar troubles. Audience transferred by Senor Charlie Miller. Enjoy! https://archive.org/details/gd1983-05-13.fob.sonyecm220t.keshavan.miller.fix.94514.sbeok.flac16/gd83-05-13d1t02.flac

I think those numbers are in the ballpark, but that person would also have to pay for band travel, and the costs for the crew to get all of the equipment there and hooked up/taken down. I would guess that the metrics are different for this than if it is a stop on a tour.

My copy of 5/6/89 back when cars had cassette players

Hey Pocky Way has opened several second sets. Alpine Valley 6-23-88 and Hamilton, Ontario 3-21-90 off the top of my head. I’d hazard a guess that Don’t Need Love opened a second set when he was playing it, perhaps I remember a tape where he did and they dropped into China/Rider to follow? Could be vice-versa. Tons of Steel has opened a second set, I think. Deadbase is downstairs and I ain’t moving right now.

C’mon!! Phoenix is lovely in July 🥵🤪

Much love and respect to Brother Bill for honoring all unwritten codes and waiting until 12:03 to ensure that the “T” in TIGDH is maintained. What a fucking beast of a Deadhead you are, man. DD

April 23, 1977. Springfield, Massachusetts. I love this show. It has a sort of laid back element to the approach compared to its cohort, but is obviously reelin and a rocking, given the tour/time. One of only nine shows with both Help/Slip/Frank and Scarlet/Fire. I also happen to love that little nugget waiting after Estimated Prophet. Perhaps you will, too. https://archive.org/details/gd1977-04-23.sbd.miller.88401.sbeok.flac16 Set 1 Sugaree Cassidy Loser New Minglewood Blues Ramble On Rose Me And My Uncle Row Jimmy It's All Over Now Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain Set 2 Estimated Prophet Bertha The Music Never Stopped Help On The Way -> Slipknot! -> Franklin's Tower -> Around And Around -> Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad -> Not Fade Away Encore One More Saturday Night

Yes, this year is DSO’s first time at Skull and Roses. Phil’s too. I think this is the 3rd year of the festival, possibly 4th.

Mark me down for believing Tiger can make the cut.

I’m fairly certain they’ll never play in Arizona again, ever. East Coast touring bias sucks balls.
