  8. I am alive. Tea, we got the Cold Rain, put a huge smile on my face 😄 promised land loose lucy walking blues sitting on top (notes go blank hahaha) we can run somewhere I’m pretty sure that box of rain closed the first set and, yes, Shakedown opened set 2! 🥳 Two souls jack straw happened late first set and was killer, a big highlight both set openers were highlights gloria closer encore was something brokedown obviously knew elective when walkin blues started because there were no crs promised land openers when walkin blues was being played solid tour opener, fantastic vibes boogeying on Rob’s side as my brain thaws I may have some more DD
  9. Let’s open the tour tonight out here in Tempe! Would love a Shakedown Street and a Hell in a Bucket. Just putting it out there 😎 DD
  10. That was a tough ticky, my man (so says Captain Obvious 😅); I’m sorry you didn’t get in 🙁 Funny you should ask, as I’m thinking about it. Looked at plane tickets, as I am not driving the West Coast lol. SLO is such a fun town, but that one is doubtful because I’m not driving. I’m thinking about the PNW, will be sorta last-minute if I do at all. which shows are you intending on, Bill? DD
  11. 3/18/90 I saw a certain band play Hartford 🤔
  12. This past Saturday the Alligators came into PHX from Los Angeles and opened for Xtra Ticket. They are touring around a bit, promoting Skull and Roses along their way. The Alligators are the house band for S&R, and they’re great. A lot of emphasis on Pig stuff, which is never a bad thing. Singer is a gregarious dude, talented musicians, all. Recommend, and they’ll be in Ventura for those going to see DSO out there.
  13. Congrats to Michigan! (I just threw up in my mouth lol) Happy for you though, Tea! DD
  14. Boxing Day (iykyk) 12/26 eventually settled in as part of the NYE run in Oakland, but here in 1969 the boys are in Dallas. Unique show that starts with just Jerry and Bobby, and they’re playing acoustic guitars. Would like to highlight The Master’s Bouquet, a Hank Williams number, as well as the stage banter throughout. If you are reading this, you will like. This is worth your time… https://gratefuldeadoftheday.com/12-26-1969/
  15. Want to wish all board contributors, lurkers, band members, and crew a wonderful holiday season! However you choose to celebrate this time of year, I hope it is full of joy and peace! About a month to go with tour kicks off out here in the desert — stoked about that. Rock out DD
  16. Not sure where my brain converted China Doll into Sugaree here (I blame you, Tea, for mentioning it and I have the attention span of a gnat 😜) so, yeah….China Doll Magical song… http://headyversion.com/song/52/grateful-dead/china-doll/ Winterland 1973 a distant second to 5/19/77 Atlanta…
  17. Certainly not authoritative, but HeadyVersion typically gets us in the range of “best”. First one that appears atop for Sugaree not from Spring 1977? Lake Placid 1983 Heady Version - Sugaree
  18. I’m gonna need one of those motion sickness bracelet thingamabobs. And a helmet might not be a bad idea, either. Place looks steep.
  19. Dave Abear brings the goods Steely Dead is funky. Recommend.
  20. What a show to be seen out at the beach! All shows with Smokestack just rock. Thankful for you, Tea, always here to give us the latest and greatest. DD
  21. Zach Nugent Dead Set last night out here in PHX. Smoking. Sugaree and Other One->If I Had the World to Give among many highlights. See this guy when you can.
  22. These guys in PHX coming this Saturday. I’m hydrating in preparation as I type this…
  23. DeadFloyd Colorado peeps. Very good. Learning to Fly was cool, as was Time. The Floyd was better than the Dead overall. Talented band.
