After the Boston show I couldn’t see straight, but when I thought of all who may be looking here to see what the Wolf had to say, I could see enough to know there was no thread about the show. So I made one on the fly with the link to the archive so the list could be found. And Brent will sing Samba before I submit any sort of mea culpa about the formatting of that post. 😆

List looks ripe for the Samba...
  3. I believe it was just for the one night. The guy who recently bought the Wolf lives in Boston, as you may have gleaned. I kept looking around and wondering “is that the guy who owns the Wolf?” Lol.
  4. Sound was awesome and really out front in there for me. Every instrument so clear and loud. I thought Skip was gonna break through a fucking wall, the bottom was so fat. Cassidy is where things had a chance to take off to another level a bit, and they did. Apparently every person in Boston knows (most of) the words to Jed. Thankfully, could still hear the band ripping through the sing along. Jeff really had fun delivering and demonstrating the lyrics. Good stuff. Rowdy Minglewood. Love me some Stagger Lee. All sorts of slide play, back to back. Jack Straw was absolutely ripping. Everyone was in need of a break at that point. The Wolf was fully dusted off in this first set. After about Mexicali Jeff snuck up on the mike and said tongue in cheek “It’s a pretty nice guitar”. 1/2 Step was fine. Franklin’s was incredible. Everyone locked in, Jeff in command of the Wolf and shredding away. Really great. Dancing in this place was indeed challenging. In addition to the Jack Straw and Franklin’s, I agree that the Peter was the highlight. Jeff and the Wolf really had a great night out front the whole way, but his lyrics were damn impressive, too. Soulful and inspired is how I would describe the Black Peter. The transitions throughout the Playin sandwich were cool as f. My head hurts. In a good way, of course.
  5. The 5/3/72 from Paris that Lemieux played on Sirius today has a Truckin>O2 sequence that is off the chain, with a jam that is a real shoegazer.

Heck, I enjoyed your run and am exhausted and I’m on my couch! Rest, hydrate, bongs, and penicillin. Not necessarily in that order.

Yes, elective. St. Stephen and Corrina never appeared in a GD show together.

Ride mighty high, of course. It’s the JGB version of Casey Jones, right?

I don’t think it’s weird at all. I said the same thing after every JGB show I attended. And then I come down and realize I love both. And Pink Floyd, too.

Doo, doo, doo, doo, da-doo! name that tune
  11. 3/24/90, Albany. A lot of music here included in the “Dozin’ at the Knick” release. Here’s a great audience, and Charlie Miller got involved with the transfer, so if you tinker around on the Archive at all, you know that means that play time is over. https://archive.org/details/gd90-03-24.fob-schoeps-mattes.miller.28387.sbeok.shnf/gd90-03-24d1t07.shn
  12. https://archive.org/details/gd90-03-21.sbd.heath.5307.sbeok.shnf Spring Tour 1990, Canada style. The 2nd Loose Lucy after the dust-off, followed by a first set VOTC with Weir seeking feedback from his monitor deep in the space by taking a knee, into a first set SOTM>Promised Land. Not to mention the 1/2 Step for Without a Net, for those who like that tune. 😜 The only thing I’ll say about this underrated second set (thanks primarily to the following night's offering) is that anytime they decided to drop into Cumby in set 2, I wound up happy, not to mention sweaty. Get headphones and enjoy!
  13. As I typically qualify such dialogue: “I wasn’t in the room...”, but I bet that Hornsby was a part of the band because Jerry liked him and much more importantly because of the way that he interacted musically with their songs on both baby grand as well as the accordion a helluva lot more than because of some desire to appeal to some “masses” that you mention.
  14. If you think about it, “Dizzy ain’t the word for they way that you’re making me feel, now (got to help me girl)”, does not make all that much sense.
  15. Some o’ yer love... F, that is one rowdy Lovelight.
  16. Someone speaks Deadbase.
  17. Oh, that must have been a lot like experiencing the first set of this show... https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/grateful-dead/1992/oakland-alameda-county-coliseum-arena-oakland-ca-2bd5a44a.html
  18. Sorry, but I need a clarification, please: are you saying that you were in attendance for only the encore? I'm expecting you to say "no, I saw the whole show, of course", but the way I'm reading it led me here. . If, by some set of circumstances, you were only there for the encore, please share how in the world that happened, if it's not too traumatic to recall.
  19. Great post, T. Both for the show offering (congrats on being there in person, sick show to catch!), as well as for the thoughts that follow. Well said, bro.

  21. Even if it's not, you get an e-high-five from me for moseying in here at set break to share. Thank you, Dupree!
  22. I see someone has their head in the right place today. I presume you're getting hydrated and performing some stretching in preparation for tonight?
  23. Haha, great call, Doc! Invoking Spiccolli: "I know that dude..."
  24. https://archive.org/details/gd94-10-05.sbd.unknown.6483.sbeok.shnf Today's offering from the Spectrum. Pretty funny review by user Wang Dong at the very top of the comments section of the Archive page linked above.
