  1. Thanks gr8fulpair. I’ve been lucky that they have been able to play a bunch within driving distance. This was my last one until the Halloween weekend, been nice to catch a few. Saw LIkeEveryOne last night as well as a bunch of familiar faces and friends, it was fun.
  2. I might have some songs mixed around, and possibly one missing in the first set. This was a fun show, an actual real live show that we parked and walked into, with spaced 8’ square grids to allow for social distancing. The staff was polite but firm about the rules (masks on outside of your grid was the main one). The venue was on a large farm, with the concert lawn on a fairly steep slope. Tough dancing terrain, my feet and legs are killing me. Rained on and off all day, continuing on and into the concert with light to moderate rain. We got wet but it was fun. The songs were all solidly played, Foolish Heart and Terrapin were the highlights for me. Had fun all night, my apologies to whoever has the grid I was in tomorrow for any damage I might have done to the wet turf. Did not slip or fall once, though! Thought for sure with the wet grass I would go flying at some point in the night. 😃

  4. Barraco did a car themed segment for the drive in during Lovelight, talking about people feeling fancy with their GTOs, Corvette, Mustang, etc. Other topics covered included box backed knitties, pocket pool, “what’s yo name”, etc 😁
  5. My first 69 style show, this was a splendid night. This venue was excellent, full PA with great sound. Fall colors starting to show and nice weather with a brief and refreshing shower of light rain mid second set. There was a little trouble in the first couple songs, where the PA cut in and out and we could only hear the stage, but it was quickly fixed and caused no further troubles. Doin That Rag was sung with youthful exuberance. Dark Star was fantastic. Death Don’t was masterfully delivered, and Easy Wind broke the somber mood perfectly and finished the set out with fun. After a little break, Dancin got everyone on their feet, really high energy jam in there. My first time seeing them do Attics, great harmony singing with Skip soaring high. The final sequence was relentless, high energy throughout. Me and Jake persevered, but it was a battle of endurance to keep up. Perfect Ripple encore. Killer show and it was a thrill to see a full onslaught 69 style show for the first time. We had the pleasure of meeting Franknkeene after the show and he kindly offered us space to camp out at his place, thanks Frank!!

  7. It was cool to see Lisa on the harmonica on CC Rider, and also on Hand Jive. Kind of like Barraco as Pigpen on Satisfaction earlier this month in Canandaigua, it is cool to see them further blending their collective talents into their elective shows.
  8. Hey Frank, it would be great to meet you, and thanks for the kind offer on camping at your place. Would be great to meet you and take you up on the offer, I’ll keep an eye out for you over there!
  9. Says they will have a full PA, definitely gonna try to make these, at least for night one, hope to see some friends there (ahem BillK) 😃
  10. I think we’re gonna head up for this show, looks like fun, says they have a concert PA there.
  11. My mistake, it’s not in the FAQ. They give you this link when you check out, and have you check a box to confirm you’re not traveling from anywhere in the red zone. Most northeast states have some kind of travel restriction right now, with VT restricting travel on a county by county basis. https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/travel
  12. Just picked up a ticket in the 5th row close to center for night one, should be a fun time, excited for a real show on live grass!! Pricey, but I don’t feel too bad buying these tickets after buying no tickets all year, still spending way less than usual on concerts. Tough to swing both nights midweek on short notice, but tough to pass up, this venue is 30 minutes from home for me 😁 To anyone considering traveling, be sure to check the CT quarantine list. They mention on the faq that they will be checking where you’re from, and not let you in if you’re from one of the states on the list. The CT quarantine list right now contains most states outside of the northeast US.
  13. Stella Blue was awesome, the majority of the parking lot became quiet for it, a surreal moment.
  14. Eaton announced at the beginning of the show that Barraco was having voice troubles and that Lisa would be singing his parts. I definitely heard Barraco sing a bit in the second set.
  15. Roseland Drive-In 9/4/20 Cold Rain and Snow Cassidy Dire Wolf Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues New Minglewood Blues Jack-a-roe Looks Like Rain Blow Away Bird Song The Music Never Stopped Help on the Way > Slipknot!> Franklin’s Tower Man Smart, Women Smarter Mission in the Rain Drums Space Spanish Jam> Throwing Stones> Morning Dew Satisfaction Sunrise New Speedway Boogie> Nobody’s Fault But Mine> New Speedway Boogie Johnny B. Goode I might have some of the first set mixed up, couldn’t remember the order. It was really good to get out and see the band, they sounded wonderful, they sounded fired up and delivered an amazing performance of every song. No rust on these guys at all considering their last show was in February. Cold Rain and Snow felt so good 🥰. Looks Like Rain and Bird Song were highlights. Help>Slip>Franklin’s found my tender feet begging for mercy, after battering them the entire first set after not seeing a show since November. Mission in the Rain brought on a downpour of light rain, with the crew scrambling to cover stuff up. Throwing Stones was delivered with heartfelt conviction, Morning Dew was perfect. Satisfaction ended with Eaton talking about everyone’s duty to vote, to which Barraco brilliantly interjected as Pigpen “...or you ain’t gonna get no satisfaction.” Sounded great with the Pigpen vocals on there in Satisfaction. Extended encore set, Nobody’s Fault was cool to sneak into New Speedway and smoothly back out, with the band laying out one more fast one at the end on Johnny B. Goode. This venue was good, it felt like a real show, not watered down in the least bit. The event was run really well, people were mostly good about social distancing, but the venue allowed for ample space for people to be out and dancing, and I left everything I could out there pounded into the gravel, it felt so good to dance again❤️❤️
  16. It’s tough to say. The states that didn’t issue the orders were all very slow to catch and now continue to escalate in case load. In CT at the beginning, it was quite scary, and we were glad to comply with the recommendations. My wife is the night nursing manager at the hospital here, and it was 100% full of Covid patients at the peak, besides one unit. She started wearing scrubs to work “in case I have to help out”. Fortunately, she didn’t, and things started to get under control. Raging unchecked, it would have been complete pandemonium at the hospitals and a lot more people would have died. Stressful times here at the house in April and May.
  17. Jerry or Bob for Edmund Fitzgerald? I say Bob. Might have been a good one for Phil, too.
  18. I’ll jump in here with an easy one that DSO has been killing, “Low Spark”. Never really heard it until I saw talk about wanting DSO to do it here on the forum, and after seeing it live a couple times last fall, what a great song, perfect fit for GD music.
  19. I know this is TIGDH, not TIDSOH, but this is one of my favorite recordings I made, two years ago today, at Frontier Field in Rochester, 8/3/18. Had the perfect spot and tremendous sound, made friends with sml that day, along with a few other friends who I hold dear to this day, it was really a splendid show and time. Killer Blow Away 🌬 https://archive.org/details/dso2018-08-03.nak300cp4.flac16
  20. Listening to this source of 7/29/82, sounds great so far. Looking forward to hearing Phil lay out the treachery ☠️ My speakers are safe right now listening to this out in the work truck. Also, thanks for the transfer and letting us hear it😇
  21. Me and Jake heard Estimated Prophet in the grocery store one day when we were shopping for groceries to go see a few shows, was a surprise!!
  22. Me and Jake were scheming briefly about doing the Colorado run, really tough to pull off with the kids at home. Gonna shoot for Black Mountain along with whatever we can pull off up here, less days away from home and we want to see what the hubbub is about Black Mountain 🤗
  23. Went to see Melvin Seals and JGB this past Saturday at the Cap, great time! My first time seeing the full band, the only other time I've seen Melvin was with DSO as his band a couple years ago at the Jubilee. High energy dance tempo all night long, with a few breaks in the onslaught with some slower songs. Great time to break up the winter between fall Northeast and sorting Northeast DSO, usually go into concert hibernation during winter. I would see them again if they are within an hour or so. Local CT Grateful Dead band Stella Blues Band opened up, which was a lovely surprise in how tight they are and well they played.
  24. Congrats and blessings on the new home! Should hopefully be able to hit a handful up this way and Black Mountain over the summer if all goes well.
