High energy biodtl, packed in tight for Iko and Samson, dance energy was high, but no place to move. China Doll was tender, Playin had the reverse intro, starting with the reprise figure into jam, into chorus, into verses. Day tripper was a great closer. Beautiful Positively 4th St, some of my favorite lyrics, capped by Lisa and the band doing White Rabbit, always a treat. I didn't expect to see the band play this show, as I saw them play it last fall in New Haven, but it was a great setlist, and exceptional sound in the house.

No problem, and yes, I'll put it up on the archive. I'll post a link here in a few days when I get it uploaded. Got Bluetooth on my laptop so I've been listening to it greedily in the truck (insert image of Scrooge McDuck swimming in his gold room, ha ha), just haven't had the time to transfer it.

I forgot about checking 5/5/77 when looking at possibilities for Portland. There's only a couple possibilities without big repeats like Scarlet/Fire and Estimated. My friend also brought 9/6/80 in Lewiston to my attention, similar distance from Portland as Oxford Plains. Kinda want to see the setlist from Burlington and delve further, but I should really stop right now, cause I really don't want to know!! It's sort of like opening a can of Pringles, though, tough to stop 😅😅

Wonder what they're gonna do. Been looking at some Portland GD sets this morning. 7/2/88 would be killer. DSO hasn't played that show since 2013, it contains very few repeats from the tour so far, but a couple big repeats (Playin, Terrapin). There are a few Portland shows they haven't played yet according to Starbase (7/3/88, 3/27/86, 10/18/83). Gonna have to see what they do tonight, kinda fun to try to narrow it down, not that I wish to know what they will play.

They jammed the end of Miracle out, and Jeff stepped over and hit the Mutron. They played a bit and he counted it off, 1,2,3,4, Whaaoouugghhh, crowd goes wild. There was a consensus during the break where I was standing that they would play Shakedown, but we thought it would kick the set off. Miracle was killer, too, with Skip playing a pair of stubbed off chords (bomblets?) during each line of the verse, high octane, indeed 😎😎😎

Awesome show start to end last night, Skip was on fire and sounded clear and fantastic. High energy, love the tone of the Travis Bean in Jeff's hands. Passenger, Shakedown, Terrapin and Playin were standout highlights to me from an exceptional show.

I agree that after a series of solid first set stalwarts, the first set really came alive during Bird Song, fooled by a high energy WRS. Second set was killer. Great theater. Huge, expansive dance floor, high ceilings with a shallow balcony that encircled the back of the auditorium up to either side of the stage. Lots of room to dance, with a very high energy group of dancers with lots of room for us to cut loose. Really lovely time, and Jeff playing Jerry's guitar was the icing on the cake. "Dust of those rusty strings just one more time," and he kinda lifted the guitar and angled it towards him, lots of appreciation from the audience for that sentiment. Me and friend Tim both taped the show, both got good recordings, one of us will have it up on relisten first, we will see who.

High energy show, great sound in the theater. Enjoyed Ithaca, first time there, cool city.

10/2/77, great show all around. Bust out of Casey Jones, super high energy peak to set the stage. Solid first set, killer second set. Phil teases The Other One kickoff a few times and finally atomizes the house with a huge sonic blast. His teases remind me of, if you've ever watched a zoom video of the fractal Mandelbrot set (my profile picture) when you occasionally catch a glimpse of the bulb (the black part) amidst all the color. Then when he finally lays it out, it's like finally seeing the bulb zoomed in in all its glory. Or maybe the teases like seeing Kilroy peeping over the wall. Lol. My thoughts listening to The Other One 🤓🤓

I think that's a great point. You might get exactly what you're hoping for with one or two shows, or they might play it a couple hours out of your range on a work night.

Everyone likes different things. Can't fault you for not enjoying elective sets. I prefer recreations, as well, but I have had rip roaring times at elective shows, as well. DSO can wield the power and build up a head of steam on either type of show. I really enjoy the guessing game at year, next songs, etc at a recreation, which goes out the window at an elective. A lot comes down to song choice. Everyone has their snoozers, and DSO will play them, too.
