Good show, elective, I think I got most of the list. Might have something missing between Althea and Dire Wolf. Pretty nice outdoor venue, good sound, sold out, very snug quarters in there but managed to have some space to dance. Cold rain and snow All over now Althea Dire wolf Broken arrow So many rds Alabama Greatest story Foolish heart Lost sailor Saint Dark Star Drums Space Spanish Jam Hey Jude (full) Stella Touch E: Black muddy river

Magnificent show and weekend, start to end, a dancer's paradise. The filler was indeed White Rabbit, with Lisa unleashing her inner Medusa on the delivery and bringing down the house as usual.

I'll record it if you feel like making an attempt.

I got to wondering today if anyone has every successfully landed a backflip while dancing at a GD or DSO show. I gotta guess at least one person has gotten fired up enough to give it a shot π

Running out of PTO, was going over northeast fall venues this evening trying to think of what to pare down, a tough process π±The Anthem was awesome last year, hope they return, that would be a definite for me. Hopefully see some dates soon π

I was listening to the Stephen King short story "Apt Pupil" today in the work truck, and there were a few passing mentions of a person called "Billy DeLyon" as an acquaintance of the main character. Pretty cool, never noticed it before, wonder if it was an intentional nod. King is a Grateful Dead fan and Jerry loved King's work.

Probably around fifteen, it was fun π

It was amazing, everyone randomly orbiting each other at high rates of speed. Would have been cool to see what kind of patterns we drew out by the end of the night. Gonna be fun to try to top that night π

I'll have to see how mine sounds, I know I had my mics up high. I'll get it up online one of these days. Everyone likes to do it differently, and some mics pick up more talking depending how sensitive or directional they are. Ideally, less talking during a quieter song π»

The tapers there were a staunch crew and taped everything. I took it easy and only taped DSO night one, really had a lot of fun being untethered, though.

That water was a life saver, the only night I didn't bring any down. Forgot it for set two, also π€ͺ

The dancing on Sunday night was, by far, the best I have experienced and the best I have ever been able to move. Really, absolutely perfect, and the benchmark I'll measure everything against. The energy in the dance area was palpable and infectious and my deepest thanks go out to all who shared in it.

The music and dancing was wonderful this weekend. Great group and high energy. Night three was among my favorite times I've had at a show. All three shows were stellar, and I think they got better each night. It was great camping with many of you and making some kind new friends. Hope to see you all again soon!! I enjoyed everything about the festival, except the sideshow. It was not necessary at all during the concert and should have been placed elsewhere. The guy cracking the fire bullwhip was the greatest distraction, and had the audacity to actually use it while the band was playing. I gotta guess the band felt the same, because he started playing with it again in between songs, and the instant that it was extinguished, they kicked off the next song. The fire people and the pole lady were kind of cool, just please don't have them perform during the DSO shows, taking up space in front and distracting people from the performance.

Perfect setlist, wish I could have been there!!!

The first set was a killer, marathon length at almost two hours. Always love Passenger and Big River, a couple of my favorite dance songs. I figured after Sunrise they might close up with a quick Jerry song, as it was already running pretty long. Scarlet Fire was a big surprise and left more possibilities for set two. A rocking four song sequence to start set two had everyone moving, and the stand alone Estimated was a nice breather. Terrapin was powerful and majestic, and the Playin intro was a lovely release after getting slugged around by the Terrapin outro. Drums was quick, with Wharf Rat and the Playin reprise to close up the set. Great show, I left sweaty and satisfied, my feet hurt right now π Gotta get myself moving to make a run of junk to the dump and start making my way down there for tonight.

Skip was singing the high part on Rider, I think maybe to keep it sort of era specific even though it was an elective. That guy who took a spill was ok, he shook it off and was walking around when I left.

This venue was pretty cool, kind of unusual at first to see DSO in a room where people are sitting down and eating dinner, but it turned out to be a good place to see them, excellent sound. I preferred night one to night two, really enjoyed the second set sequence, and the segue into China cat from NFA was perfect and unexpected. Love the early style China Rider transitions where Eaton takes the lead, which is what he did here, followed by the 1974 style jam (forget what that's called) before settling into a high energy Rider. Dark Star was excellent, and the peak of Two Souls was the highlight of the night for me. Eaton sang "that's why he tweets the blues" during Saturday Night, haha. I got my recordings of these shows up on the archive. For some reason, the track names came out screwy, using the file names instead of the track names, but they are in order. Going to try to figure out what went wrong and try to fix it, but in the meantime: https://archive.org/details/dso2019-05-13.cp4

Thanks Greg, I'm traveling the elegant way this time, taking the train. Pretty much what it would cost me if I was driving, after gas and tolls. Would prefer to take the truck and sleep in back but couldn't find reliable 24 hour access parking, not worth it to pay for parking and someplace to sleep, got a reasonably priced air bnb. Looking forward to not driving π

It will be a fun time, whatever they play. I'll be taping it, hopefully get some good recordings.

I saw that, and just saw this today. They must have specifically listed these as electric because they've only played acoustic at the Hamilton. Wonder what they're gonna do. Excited to get down there, my last show was the Anthem ππ
