Wow, not sure if/when I last saw desolation row on a DSO set list. Hope it went well. Would love to see it pop up from time to time.

    11-2-2019 Cap

I'll certainly be kicking myself in the ass for not going. I have been wanting to make my pilgrimage to the Cap for awhile. When these got announced for some reason I was thinking they were 1st weekend of December and I would have just been getting back from another trip, so I passed. This past weekend would have worked out perfect. And with the Bro and Co shows @ MSG, tickets and space were plentiful. Glad to have seen the Saturday night webcast, which was definitely as good of DSO as I've heard. But damn, I fucked up. 😣

Full on Robert Hunter tribute show man, they are playing with some fire. The intro jams before jack straw and half step unlike any other DSO. Very much like Phil and friends. And the crazy fingers jam was fierce!

Interesting that they did 7/16/76 just a week or so ago and that had an amazing Comes a Time>Other one and this one has Other One>Comes a Time.... and from the song lengths on the archive.org files - this one looks like it should be equally fantastic.
  7. incredible g.dead show! DSO performed it fantastically a few years back, 2012(?) and released on livedownloads.com. Can't wait to hear last night - thanks for all the taping and uploading. Listening to your 9/26 this morning - sounds great!
  8. Fantastic sound quality. And _every_ song seems to have some extra electricity. (BirdSong!!!) Thanks for sharing your recording!
  9. Sure wish they'd do an acoustic set at the Jubilee - maybe 1st set Saturday, and then a JGB set 1st thing Sunday.
  10. I uploaded a handful of videos to youtube. Most are short clips, but got a nice long pull from Watchtower and Black Peter. Youtube Jubilee 2019 playlist
  11. I also sent an email to Tim and All Good. Similar sentiment of placing the "entertainers" there was not a great idea. And the timing of Sunday's set up was horrible! This should be an easy fix for them and we can go back to our blissful memories of the Jubilee.
  12. Thanks Rob - makes sense. The quality of the drumming seemed much higher than the Red Rock family drumming. But no less fun and enjoyable πŸ™‚
  13. the kid up front definitely had skills!!!
  14. Were the folks on drums band friends and familiy? Or I was thinking maybe they were from the earlier in the day drum clinic. What a treat that would be!
  15. I liked when the food vendor were off to the side two years ago. Made the field much more open.
  16. In agreement with all the above. Definitely the roughest edge of any of my previous but still so enjoyable, peaceful and wonderful. Id like to email my comments as well. Send to the All Good folks? the timer has started for my return in two years. 😍😍
  17. Let the good times roll Feel like a Stranger Row Jimmy Hey pocky Way Ramble on rose Let it grow Shakedown Street Women are smarter Ship of fools Playin in the Band Drumz Going down the road feeling bad All along the Watchtower Black Peter Sugar Magnolia China cat Sunflower I know you Rider One More Saturday Night 4/30/89 Frost Amphitheater. Stanford Ripple.
  18. We packed it up close to 2am. How late did Billy play? The DSO was (to no surprise) fantastic! i was joking maybe it was an elective late 70’s β€œmost generic” set list Rob could come up with. But man on man the playing was anything but generic. Huge HUGE bombs in both Other One and Wharf Rat. Woo!!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  19. damn - looks like a fun show. put me in the Victim lovers group - love the WEIRdness. Hope that doesn't take Other One and Dew off the table for the weekend
  20. $15 each or $25 for the two. I'm pretty sure you can watch after the fact for a few days, but don't quote me on that.
  21. thanks for the upload. Sounds pretty darn good!
  22. Wish granted...weekend Cap shows webcast on relix/nugs.net https://relix.com/live/livestream-20190517-dark-star-orchestra/ https://relix.com/live/livestream-20190518-dark-star-orchestra/
  23. I wish they'd do an acoustic DSO set early in the day one of these years. BTW - schedule is out. Lil Smokies - Friday late night Bill Strings - Saturday late night I'm gonna need me some caffeine!
  24. My cold got the best of me so I took advantage of my balcony seat for the majority of the show. My ears were working fine though and everything sounded terrific. Things really got cooking from Minglewood on in the 1st set. I really love how DSO incorporates little era details - for example the melodic strumming intro into Bird Song came back in the mid-80's, and also the now atypical jam within Throwing Stones sounds out of place now, but for the mid 80s is exactly what they were doing. It was one highlight after another in the second set. The keyboard snafu during Playin was a visual distraction, but certainly didn't slow the rest of the guys down. There was a decently teased Spanish Jam out of space (not sure if that was show accurate) but was very enjoyable. Between the Vegas webcast and the two socal shows, my DSO jones was filled nicely. Three month countdown till the Jubilee!
