Can be a definition as in “ a murder of passion”. There is more than one definition of passion. In the context of my meme however, it is strong emotion.
-
Passion by definition is strong emotion. It is firing on all cylinders emotionally. No reservations. All the chips are in. I can passionately be a friend bringing to bear all that I am without reservation. Reservation because of past hurts, faults and mistrusts. All that has been cleared out and my space with you is clear. I can be passionate about health or music or art or being environmentally responsible and it have nothing to do with romantic love. It is the sacral chakra in fiery orange as I anchor into the world physically a mental plan that is intentionally living my heart, not muddied by negative emotions, expectations, pictures of what should be. It is my gift I release and let go.

How do you spell Timbuctoo? Do you prefer the French way, Tomboctou?

11/8/78 : first T for Texas lyric I found played at the Capitol theater as the song stretched out from a consistent 5-6 min mark throughout the year to 9:28 min. From White Gum site: John L Yarbro, Jr. sent me an email with additional background:

Some friends from home said it took forever to get in. 5 lines. Missed 3 songs. Really crowded.

First 3 songs second set were around 30-35 minutes to execute. Don’t think that is any different from GD sets. They started around 9:50- 10:20 or 10:25. By the end of the fourth we were sitting at 10:40pm. I think the label was wrong. Funny, I never watch the clock but having been at these shows originally and listened to them on tape countless times. I was intrigued to see how long the songs would go.

The sound in the Hall was ooey gooey sweet harmonies throughout , thick like molasses and the reward of the night the notes played with such love and patience a co-mingling so heavenly, it makes me think how satisfying, a hot biscuit slathered in butter and molasses as bites enlighten and fulfill satisfaction of the senses in the Holy City, not because of the sheer number of churches but how there isn’t antoher slice of heaven like Charleston, no other place to live on Earth. And I must say the neighborhood here makes you feel like you are in another world- stepping out of the hecticness of life. How Sweet it is to be back in Charleston where I spent my childhood. Feeling mighty high by Simple Twist seeing three people I love in this world dancing together unknown to one another on the front row . Catfish John was a delight in to Stars and sparkle they did on stage. I felt like we could hang out all day at the river, as the song strolled. I laughed inside thinking of my great grandmother forbidding my Aunt Inez to go down the road and play juice harp with her “Catfish John”. So this story so delighted my mother in law I have a juice harp in my vanity drawer. Gommorah’s message of loving the moment, not looking back, easy to live rolling down the track. Ride ride. And we bounced on into break. Let Me Roll It - wow. Like a wheel to you. Just great. I feel so happy to see it at my last show til Jubilee. The original show is on you tube and I rolled it for that song to hear it again. I’ll chose it for a good while. However I love Midnight Moonlight will stay in my head when that isn’t playing. I was floored by the beauty of Palm Sunday- the singing and the music so heavenly. CC Rider captured my attention as Lisa sings. It is like I never heard that song before, made new again. Tanya has that Bobby McGee down. That song was made for her to sing it! Koritz on drum kit. The Travis Bean so bright. I really like Jerry band with piano! Well chosen setlist. It fit the night. It is always a delight when it is a real show and just maybe you think, it was cobbled together because it fit the evening so right. Well that is a piece of my revelry. I’ll stop my ramblings now- I can’t sum it up like Gr8tfulpair is two sentences. 💕 Maybe I am just full of it i love this music so much !

I’d recommend where the Cooper and the Ashley rivers meet to form the Atlantic.

157 years ago today the Cuvil War began. The talks failed to resolve tensions, forcing Beauregard to action. Early in the morning of April 12, 1861, Confederate guns around the harbor opened fire on Fort Sumter. At 2:30pm on April 13th, Major Robert Anderson, garrison commander, surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day. so thankful that isn’t the way of the world now

Evidently there were some other firsts

First time Let Me Roll It played ths high top cymbals were lovely in Love in the Afternoon

Looking out on the crowd in Atlanta at my first show 30 years ago, l looked out upon the revelry during Terrapin Station and was awe struck at the joy exuding from the fans. The first glimpse at the ability to release the angel within that is THE goal at a show.
-
At the beginning of second set, some guy yelled out, “Play something WEIRD!! ” . So I retorted, “ WEIR’D isn’t here!”.
-
Really!?! I guess the set ended with Tough Mama for me. Lol
-
And the good loving was there in spirit, just not sung . An discarded idea to finish the first set. Rose’s friend got the setlist.

Last night was an easy trip up the mountain after work. Nice crowd, a little older median age than last year. Kind spaces to move and dance in. The sound was good most everywhere except when I was drawn in like a moth to the flame with some stellar sounds I had to find the sweet spot. No drunks. The show- nice opener. Let’s just get this straight what we are about- hanging out and enjoying this music that is so dear and having a happy time. No time to hate! Althea had a repeated lyric- No one is thinking less and less about the love we bring evidently. Pockey way was HOT!!! Just ripping and soulful. 💕 mahalo nui loa. i had the unfortunate task of being around a Masters of War mentality Monday night sitting among the parent fans of the visiting team. I was torn up emotionally by their complaining and judgements. This song felt like a reply. An answer to this sickness. Powerful delivery. Right on time. Pride of C. had a fantastic jam. Just a heavy a throw down as the melody is cheerfully upbeat. Oh and I heard an alternate lyric in Tough Mama too. Something about sweet goddess- time to call the other line or of the sort. Dunno... HSF. Barraco worked overtime imho holding the rhythm in Franklins and it was amazing to behold. The long musical relationship with Jeff left nothing to be desired in the jam. They held the space for each other so well. That being said, that level of playing must be rather demanding. Glad they have the day off!. The set just kept growing from there. I wandered up front looking for my friend Rose. Always up for some tribal drum dancing, I was throwing it down up front when she found me. Space unfolds and she shows up by my side. As I help her remove a layer, her starry shirt is revealed as Dark Star begins. We reminisce about Hampton 89. Well - that is Rose for you!!! The encores Just peaked out the night!! Thanks DSO! 💖🌸 so love dancing it out with you. Peace and much affection for the joy you live and bring.
