  1. What? You don’t want to be coat check numbers 1, 2 and 3 ?!?🔥🤙🏼
  2. I saw Ghost Light- Tom Hamilton band with Holly Bowling et al at the small theater Visulite in Charlotte with about 300. The show first set was all originals. 4/5 I enjoyed. The songs take on the architecture of JRAD song flow with rockin periods moving into spacey thoughtful spaces. I believe one was completely improv.- at least the entrance it seemed. The slide guitar played reminded me of “Wicked Games” . Another reminded me of Radiolarians 2 MMW which gets two thumbs up from me. It was fun to see what Tom H do his own thing and definitely took you into those jam band places spaces with ease. It was a fun excursion if you get the chance.
  3. 11/28/80 Lakeland Guitar shreds in LIG. https://archive.org/details/gd80-11-28.naks.clugston.2222.sbeok.shnf
  4. Must’ve been one powerful Alligator! Like the Velveteen Rabbit.
  5. Not necessarily. I think the alligator was only someone’s body pillow for while.. He certainly was just a tease for me. Then FINALLY....,,, his presence meant something big and bad ass. Lucky dogs. 🙂
  6. Not on relisten... oh well. I think the Eleven sounds like jubilation feels.
  7. No changes around Paradise, CA date. Wondering of this is just waiting to see what the fallout is, or if it is still a go. It looks pretty bleak for rolling out the hospitality on the news in 2 months.
  8. Me too! They do it so so well. I frequently listen to DSO from 3/1/2016 off nugs.net . Great early show.

I think it is what 1950s boys did by giving a girl a pin off letterman jacket to show the school they were steadys.

Had no idea they were playing/ played Box last night. 😉 Wine coolers. Haha. That is so 1986. I’m sure it is only the best- give me my Bartle and James. You’ve got to be joking. Jerry loved Brent! I did too! He had such soul in his voice and passion about him. What more could you give or want? This development of people finding themselves in neurological/ respiratory crisis is scary as hell. DSO shows are a sweet place and are a sanctuary full of good people enjoying the music. It is sacred to me and many others. So sorry this happened and hopefully it is just a freaky element passing through. Disturbed and upset, I am flabbergasted at this incident.

I agree, Greg. I’d get that tape. The CP-80 was on stage last night.

Well isn’t that special? Good of luck on your search. I bet your favorite lyric based on your name JMF is “ such a long long time to be gone and a short time to be there”.

So my response is a reaction to the vibe of that time. “How authentic a deadhead are you? “ was a prevailing mentality. It was a big turn off. Everything I read about beatniks and counterculture from 50s and 60s was anything but that mentality. So I guess after In the Dark, the close mindedness to youngsters at the show really ruined the vibe for both sides. I was lucky to be ferried in with a lot of older heads but I didn’t stray too much from the tribe except to chat up the tapers and get a tape or a list. It wasn’t that welcoming. By fall 1992, I was out. Therefore- I think it is important to look past stereotypes and preconceptions because fresh eyes might be the future.

Well-justified opinions go a long way with me and make this thread interesting. Clasic vs Legendary. Classic show would be one you could pull and say this is an true example of Grateful Dead set lists from this era.. Solid. Goes with anything and everything. A Straight . A flush. A pair of Aces. Trusty. Legendary or quintessential would mark in some way outstanding, irreplaceable, a creme de la creme. Royal Flush. A straight flush. 4 of a kind.
