  1. After I got off tour in 2001, I got married, had 3 babies, worked full time while full time getting undergraduate & graduate degrees and we had no family for 600 miles. Then as we worked our way into better jobs, we had many of the same experiences of no money or no time off that was allowed. All that to say: I totally get it. Even now, though I have more free time and flexibility, with my oldest about 20 & in college, my 14 & 16 year old are happy and healthy and still in school & participate in stuff that keeps us really busy. But I wish you luck on her time off for your mental health excursions, because trust me- I know how helpful they are
  2. I just got a room and a ticket for June 17 in Asheville. Haven't been to the Salvage station, looking forward to a post-Jubilee pre summer show
  3. When I was touring full time, Summer 2001 was my only time I really caught SCI. The summer tour tangled a bit with Phil's tour and I coordinated a few of their dates in the West/Midwest in the midst of Phil tour to make traveling easier. The SCI shows in Colorado & midwest in Summer 2001 were fun-the audience was really young and different than Phil tour, and we were some of the only vendors for many of those shows-not too unlike DSO shows.
  4. Last time DSO played the Taft Theatre in Cincy, this happened to me. The ticket itself was like $17, but the ticketmaster/live nation "FEE" was $25 or more. Insanity
  5. "There are many other great types of music I'd rather listen to than Phish or other jambands" Absolutely
  6. Totally agreed. Also, the entire jam band genre seems completely derivative of Phish
  7. Hope the Accuweather Jubilee prophecy comes true cause this has been the coldest spring I remember as a whole in quite some time
  8. I was a teenager listening to the Grateful Dead in the early 90s, and a friend suggested I might like Phish, since I liked “alternative” music and the Grateful Dead. I bought “A Live One”, and got some live shows on tape, like 7/25/92. I liked it causally, but the whole humor in music thing doesn’t do it for me, so if you play me guitar solos and jams, I’d prefer that. After the 1998 Further Festival/ The Other Ones tour ended in shoreline, I did a smattering of Phish summer tour dates making my way back east. Haven’t gone to a show since pretty much ambivalent but occasionally listen to select concert jams of theirs from 1992-1998
  9. The meyer sound at Legend Valley is top notch. Glad you are coming!
  10. I feel lucky that Lexington KY has a good music scene for a town this small. Caught Brandon Bowlds & Friends last night and it was wonderful music. 11. Was in NYC over the weekend and saw Miles Davis bassist Marcus Miller play the last show of his residency at the Blue Note Jazz club. He had old Miles Davis band mate Mike Stern sit in on guitar. It was incredible!
  12. It shouldn’t be a suprise, I’ve been to every Jubilee, but officially, I’m locked and loaded for the Jubilee, see you soon
  13. Saw Bob Weir for the first time since 2016 last night. Excellent show! I was overjoyed at hearing Silvio again
  14. FYI, I was on the 3rd episode, 11/7/22
  15. Yeah, I think we figured it out with the third one why it was happening. Good seeing you the other night- we’ll be at Zanzabar again on 2/4
  16. Came to Nashville for Sierra Ferrell NYE show at Brooklyn Bowl. Great weekend, great show, happy New Year!
  17. My wife and I had kids early, but not intentionally. Im 43 and my oldest is a second semester college sophomore. We are almost there-
  18. The Jubilee is the only festival I attend where the VIP campers outnumber the GA campers. Probably a smart fiscal move on their part. I might be GA this year though lol
  19. Barraco played keys for both Gov Mule and Phil & Friends. It was the “pseudo- Quintet”, Molo on drums, Barraco on keys, Warren, Phil, and John Scofield. whole xmas jam show and production was amazing. Scott Metzger did acoustic mini sets with his wife Katie Jacoby on fiddle to open and between some of the acts. Dinosaur Jr crushed their 30 minute set. Govt Mule, Tyler Childers, and Phil’s sets were back to back just as good as good can be. Music started at 7:00 pm and continued until 2:20 am
  20. Phil Lesh & Friends, Xmas Jam, 12/10/2022 Midnight Hour Masons Children Brown Eyed Women Shakedown Street I am the Walrus Morning Dew Eyes of the World So What Help on the Way Slipknot Terrapin Station Box of Rain I think every song probably segued into the next song - awesome show- best Phil & band performance I’ve seen in 10 years
  21. Christmas jam in just one week. For Phils band, Barraco is now the keyboardist instead of Medeski- which I’ll gladly take. Anyone else here going?
  22. I saw them play this set list at the Taft in Cinci I think in 2017
  23. Going to Christmas Jam 12/10 to see Dinosaur Jr, Phil & Friends, Tyler Childers, Govt Mule, Hiss Golden Messenger...going to be a good time
  24. Tickets were available when I got off the plane. However, I missed the window for online sales a little bit later and when I got to the venue it had sold out. So that sucked. Next time!
