  1. I wish I could skip Tues-Thursday. I’m so ready for this shit
  2. Have they rebuilt the restaurant and trading post yet I wonder? When we were there for JGB we found out that it all burned down about ten days after DSO played the outdoor shows down there. The lodge and cabins were ok tho
  3. I’ll typically pick the winner then box 3 horses for 2-4. Lowers it from $48 to $12. If you pick the fist two and box last two it drops to $4. I’ll do a bunch of those and then ten totally random ones picking the horses I didn’t bet before. In the random I had 21-3-12-6 and was half right. That ought to at least be worth a $100 bill 🤣😆
  4. A $2 super paid nearly $700k. I had the longshot in first and the 2nd place horse. I didn’t get to watch and couldn’t hear as they announced the 3rd and 4th. Man I was sweatin. Thought for a minute I was retiring and going on permatour. Reality reared it’s head quickly tho when I checked my TwinSpires account and saw a whopping $4 in it. I musta had a horse scratch somewhere… and that was the only money I got back on derby day. 🤣😆
  5. Cyberknife Is my conspiracy “it’s fixed” horse. Lol. The trainer Brad Cox who won the derby last year after the real winner popped a positive drug test. So his horse technically won but he got none of the fanfare, didn’t get to celebrate, no roses, nuthin. So the “racing gods” put him in the winners circle tomorrow. Lol i like Mo D too i think Zandon and epicenter are the two best horses, but derby anything can happen.
  6. It was pretty packed compared to a month earlier when we were there. Don’t think it was sold out tho
  7. Gotta think the Seahawks are gonna end up w/Baker being they ignored QB completely. Or Jimmy G? Or they are just gonna be gawd awful and tank w/the Geno/Lock combo. Lol
  8. Went to see JRaD in Newport KY last night. Was a good time. A few times they would play a long intro jam before dropping into this or that song and I really enjoyed those. Was my first time seeing them live. I like that little venue. Was the same one DSO played a month ago
  9. We’re being confused w/someone else man. We didn’t get on the DSO bus til after ledges days. Still be good to see ya though
  10. One of the few shows both boys will attend with me this summer. After that most shows I’ll just have one or the other. Lol
  11. Saw Elton John at the YUM yesterday. Luke bought those tix when he was 16 and he’ll be 20 in Sept. it was postponed twice, he finally got his show. He played a straight 2:40 set no break. I was dying for set break by like 9:15but realized by quarter of ten that he was just gonna power through. He said his farewell tour is over 200 shows in, but he still has over 120 left. That’s a helluva long tour. Lol
  12. Me and luke went to see “live at the Fillmore” ABB tribute last night. It was good. Solid show if they come round you. Been a long time and I missed seeing that music played.
  13. I was dumb enough to be in the bowl. Super flooded an moving never even crossed our minds even tho the whole field was totally open and moving to higher ground would have been simple, we just didn’t think of it. Eventually one of our neighbors asked “why didn’t you guys just move” and my cousin and I just looked at other like “we never thought of it” 🤣😆
  14. That green ez up at the end of vendors row is moi. Was a rough 3 nights sleeping under that w/out a tent in that rain. Lol
  15. Saw Bobby last night in Nashville Indiana in a venue the size of a high school orchestra hall. Was pretty awesome. He was chatty and engaging, was a real good energy all night. 2nd set was the best I’ve seen Bobby in years. set 1 music>Easy answers>music>standin on shaky ground>music Mission in the rain Ten Jed althea hard rain Mama tried lovelight set 2 Easy to slip throwing stones UJB>Supp>UJB He’s gone watchtower Wharf rat sugar mag E. Saturday night Bobby was acoustic on Hard rain and easy to slip The addition of Jeff and the strings and horns was nice
  16. We will be there. If you need to turn the back of the truck into an overnight weather escape or anything it’s yours. 😉
  17. I see my home base from whatever year that was. Lol
  18. I’m a late night bluegrass fan too Doc. I do agree with Rude that galactic and boombox are also best slotted late night, but I’ll take yonder and Rumpke for my preference. Rumpke late night is music festival bliss for me. Those boys will play til the sun comes up the next day if you let them. Down at terrapin hill farm, sunrise at the top o the hill, Rumpke still playin even tho their official set ended over 4 hours ago, boys asleep back in the tent somewhere 🤣😆 special memories. one year I think Marco Benevento played electric late night back when we still had double stages. Recall him wailing on keys in a giant Panda head. Or maybe none of that actually happed 🤔🤔 and maybe year 2, I think on Sunday night, the werks closed down the jubilee instead of it ending after DSO. I remember really liking the light show from back at camp *disclaimer all of the specific details of this message are subject to being misremembered due to hard livin. Lol
  19. I never saw a DSO ledges show, and never a TN show either. One of my biggest regrets in life is not finding this band til I did in ‘12. Damn kids (and ex) knocked me off touring for about 14 years. Lol. From 98-2012 I stayed mostly local and just saw Bobby and Phil or ABB when they came close. I was going to see blues clues on ice and shit, Scooby Doo and Dora the explorer at the Palace in Louisville (separately of course)🤣 But when I came back to the road the boys started coming with me and the rest is history but that gap will haunt me forever especially when I hear you guys reminisce of shows from preDuck times Lol
  20. They are in Louisville in Feb. plan is to go although I have to work inventory the next morning at 6. Lol so if I go I won’t be getting to wild
  21. I was camped directly on the field side of those guys that year. The boys still bring it up and we all laugh and agree that was one of our least favorite neighbors. 2nd to one of the first years I took the boys (year 3 maybe) and we had camp nitrous right next door. Luckily we are all super heavy sleepers 🤣😆
  22. We camped at the end of shakedown street because I’d never been there and didn’t know where to set up. The grateful gangsta’s next to us had drama and provided entertainment and bad vibes all weekend. Lol people would reach the end of shakedown street and walk into my camp like “what you sellin” and I was like “nuthin, just chillin here in the river” Lol and I remember megaphone guy 🤣😆😆
  23. Where’d you find a pic of my jubilee outfit? That shit was supposed to be a secret 🤣😆
  24. I did t even take a tent. Just an EZ up and a chair. Our camp hardcore flooded and everything on the ground got washed away and we had to go hunt it down. We had a river running over our feet and a neighbor came by and asked why we didn’t move camp. It honestly never even crossed our mind. Lol anyways bought DSO and JRAD tix for Newport today and jubilee too. Starting to put dates on calendars. Love to see it. ❤️
