  1. That Brady center was rough when we went to Billy there before. So packed you’d piss your pants before making it to the restroom. Was glad I wasn’t drinking
  2. I started taking the boys when Luke was around 10. He’s 20 now and they have 50+ DSO shows under their belt.
  3. Man that was the best I’ve seen Bobby in a long long time. I really enjoyed that show. Crowd was hyped up for the palace too. Sylvio featuring tequila jam, and eyes/what’s goin on, and the Dew were my highlights along with BTW (favorite Bobby tune) in the 1st.
  4. Man the last two weekends I have hit this little soon to be private club in Louisville. It’s just starting but apparently a guy who used to post “living room concerts” online with local musicians bought a place to start having these shows. No cover, BYOB, and they pass the hat with 100% of the donations going to the artists performing. 1st week I went was a bluegrass band that I basically watched grow up and become a band down at Terrapin hill farm. Last night was a local legend who played old blues and gave us a Peggy O. Dude is a music lover who tells everyone that this is a “listening room” not a concert hall. A place for music lovers to go to listen to music. Just a freakin beautiful spot for live local music with no hassles. He’s been doing this about 8 months, and I’m kinda salty that I’m just now hearing about it because so far it seems Taylor made for me.
  5. Sammy and I went over to Louisville to see Stolen Faces from Nashville. It was a good time. They played tight but short jams which meant a ton of songs got played. I need to back off and give my foot time to heal before Summer but I’ll have to start after next weekend because we are going up to Grateful Dead night at the Redwings on the 14th. Taking my sister and nieces who aren’t dead or hockey fans. Merry Christmas to them lol
  6. I took the boys and a buddy to New Orleans for Billy. We stayed in Tuscaloosa Thursday and had the whole city to ourselves because everyone was already in NO for the sugar bowl. We ended up going to the sugar bowl and was a cool way to spend the day. Left early due to Bama beatdown. Literally bumped right into Archie Manning outside his restaurant while looking over my shoulder trying to sneak out to the street for a toke 🤣. We didn’t get to do much pokin around, but ate some good shit, and had a killer time. Broke my foot thanksgiving week and had been feeling pretty good but it was the size of a grapefruit again when I got home. Totally worth it. If you ask Luke the highlight was the 75,000 sq ft gas station Buc-ee’s that had killer brisket sandwiches and was kind of like a mix between a grocery store and a Bass Pro shop. Lol my friend told Luke he’d buy him a beaver hat but he had to wear it the whole trip so all my pics luke is wearing a bucee beaver toboggan with the pippy longstocking braids. He says Billy is kicking it to 3 nights next year but I don’t know where he saw it Also ran into AC both nights in NO but we somehow missed each other at the Pageant 😂
  7. Wait, you mean some people have kids on purpose??? 😆🤣
  8. As long as I can use my boys as hired pack Mules I’ll be GA. Lol. I mean why else did I have them? 😆🤣
  9. I got an email from venue saying if you are doing GA and camping in the bowl, no additional passes are needed. So it is only changing for car campers I guess
  10. I enjoyed JRaD when I went but was also dissatisfied with their sound. Was like I was listening with a hat pulled down over my ears. Was a killer show and I relistened to it and it was good, but the live sound was a bit of a letdown. Guess we are just spoiled
  11. I wonder if buying the car pass lets you drive down into the bowl and camp with vehicle? Or if by buying a car pass you are paying extra to camp in the lot atop the hill which would just seem silly to me.
  12. I almost fell over the rail in the balcony one year at the Ryman. Was a NYE with old crow medicine show. Balloons dropped and I about did too. People behind me had the look on their faces like they just witnessed someone almost die, which was in all likelihood the case.
  13. One of these years I’ll get down there for Christmas jam. Always broke throughout December as I prep for Christmas and wherever we are headed for NYE. It’s on my someday list though for sure

  15. That Cincinnati show was Sammy’s little buddy’s first show with us and he sat in for Sam who couldn’t go. He knew a little dead but Sammy said he sang wang dang doodle for like a year straight every time he saw him after that 🤣🤣
  16. Hell yeah man. That’s cool as shit
  17. An 80 year old couple wanted to rekindle some excitement for their anniversary so the night before as they went to bed they made plans to show up for and eat breakfast naked. So they’re sitting there the next morning and the wife says, “this is really working, my nipples are as hot for you this morning as they’ve ever been” The old man looks up, then back down and says without missing a beat “that’s because one of them is in your oatmeal and the other is in your coffee.”

Luke was highly displeased we were not in attendance 😆🤣😆

Yeah I wanna say we got a real old school show a handful of years back at the HoB in Cleveland. Was a buddy of mine’s first show. Then his second show was another old school show in Louisville. I guarantee no one in the history of dead/Darkstar fandom had gotten a “big boy Pete” at their first two shows. But he did. 😆🤣😆
  20. Such a good time, and awesome show. Loved that they had the sign language translators. I noticed about a few songs into the first and a few songs later i had a thought and I got to laughing and couldn’t stop. Told the boys that I was hoping for a lovelight with a down and dirty Rob B pigpen rant so I could watch and possibly record the sign language translation of “waking up to Woodrow Wilson and a box of tissues” 😆🤣

Set One: Feel Like A Stranger ; They Love Each Other > C. C. Rider ; Cumberland Blues ; Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues ; Althea ; Cassidy ; Loser ; Music Never Stopped Set Two: Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain ; Playing In The Band > Terrapin Station > Drumz > Space > Not Fade Away > Black Peter > Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode Encore: U. S. Blues F. Love the one you’re with Musically the show was great. Good crowd energy too. Unfortunately I haven’t been that miserable in a venue maybe ever. Took forever to get in, No re-entry, no space anywhere, no smoking deck, set break was a panicked mess, had me feeling super claustrophobic, everyone was trying to get somewhere not knowing there was nowhere to for anyone go. Medical emergency cut “Playin” short to wait for ambulance evacuation (updated the gentleman was ok) Looking forward to getting outa town and back to familiar territory

Love that venue. Tons of space, everyone is always super cool. We got 1-11-79 no time for filler. Other one albeit a quick one was awesome as always. Band seemed to enjoy the venue, Rob E dedicated show to his pops who passed on 11/10 years ago
  23. What must all the states around me be so ass backwards? I’m never gonna get it and Illinois don’t count because I’d go broke smoking their stuff 😢
  24. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in an inside venue that’s a smoke em if ya got em show. Was a nice change of pace to fire doobs at will.
