It’s the bluegrass underground In Tennessee. I saw Del and Dawg down there and it was probably one of my favorite shows. They have moved since to a larger cave where they can get more people in. Haven’t been to the new one yet. But DSO underground would be unreal.

I’m probably doing only Louisville and Indy, would love to do Columbus but I’m seeing Little Feat locally that day.

Now if they’d just bring in a hefty stilt Walker I could feel good too. 😂😆

Grate weekend of music. Can’t complain too much about the weather. Everything made it thru the storms standing and was able to pack up dry for the most part yesterday. The boys and I had a great time and shared some awesome memories. Saw way too many medical emergencies this year. Not sure what these kids are getting down with but it seems like bad news. Weekend was over way too quickly and now the post festival blues set in as I head back to work today. Can’t wait for the next run of shows.

Luke called the Jack Straw opener night one and also Visions of Johanna in our bets on the way up. He’s out to an early lead and Sam and I are playing catch up the rest of the weekend.

A buddy of mine (not especially a head) has been to 2 shows with me. The 69 at HOB in Cleveland a couple years ago, and the 69 in Louisville last time they came thru. I told him he is probably the only person in the world, who has seen multiple DSO shows, that has seen Big Boy Pete at 100% of his shows. 😆😂😆 I told him there are probably people who have seen over a hundred shows and never got ONE of those. Lol

Winner winner Chicken dinner at 5-1 Thanks Rob 😆😂😆😂

In the 4th race tomorrow on derby day there is a horse named Borracho. I know it’s spelled differently but I’m betting the shit out of it. Wooooooooooo
-
Yeah. It’s all included in the ticket if you’re just doing GA or VIP. I believe it’s only RV passes that are separate
-
Year 1 the vendors were my neighbors lol. We camped right at the end of vendors row next to the “grateful gangster” group and they fought and argued all weekend. A river flowed through camp and swept everything on the ground away. And simultaneously filled my little cuz’s tent with water because he slept with his open door facing uphill. Good times

If it takes that much effort to get a choice spot at RR, I will likely not have a very good spot. Lol
-
Wow. I didn’t notice that. We have Willie and Phil day before in Chicago. Gonna hafta get up relatively early and haul ass.
-
Looks like it was a killer show. That setlist makes me drool.

Saw Melvin tonight at the Madison in Covington. DSO played there back in 2013 I think and possibly the show that got cancelled in ‘14 or ‘15 was supposed to be there too. I have really enjoyed his shows since that Zach(k?) Nugent took the lead guitar spot. Harder they come Bright side of the road So many roads Evangeline lets spend the night together Tangled 2 Cats Dear Prudence Takes a lot to laugh, takes a train to cry gotta serve somebody Brown eyed women Ill take you there>bridge over troubled water>I’ll take you there (lady singer this was very cool) Deal Im probably missing 1-2 out of each set. That’s the best memory will allow at the moment. But I had a good time and enjoyed the show

He had Margo Price sing with him when I saw him at Ryman back in November
-
It was a good not great show. I’d say you won’t have your mind blown but won’t feel like you wasted $20 either. Although if they have the same opener we had tonight, go ahead and get there an hour late. Lemon was in their name. They played the Woodstock setlist and then about an hour of filler. Danceable. TC did a little solo piano stuff before main set started
-
I’m seeing them tonight. Will post a late night/early morning review.
-
If we had camera phones back then I would literally be unemployable. As is I’m sure there are tons of pics of me committing illegal acts as an idiotic teen spread all over the country
-
1st set Rubin Cassidy Cumberland Tore up to close the set. 2nd set Viola Lee was nuts. Felt like it climaxed forever. Other one was sick too. And 3 man drums was pretty sweet.
-
Saw Dino play with Born cross eyed last night in Lexington at Cosmic Charlie’s. It was a killer good time but I swear CC is in a new location every time I go down there

Last Saturday I went to the venue where the live dead ‘69 show is happening, and the poster says they are recreating the set from Woodstock Also this summer I am finally getting my boys to see Phil, the last living member box they have to check off. Thanks to Willie Nelson and his outlaw tour, he is dragging Phil to the middle of the country and we are gonna hit the Chicago stop.

There is a tour going round called “Live Dead ‘69” Not sure who is involved but it falls on a day I’ve already scheduled off so I plan on Checking it out. They are playing the same venue DSO plays when they come to Louisville. I looked it it up and it’s Tom Constanten, Mark Karan, Robin Sylvester, Slick Aguilar (Starship) and JGBs drummer and jay lane are splitting drum duties. Not sure if this is still the lineup but it was when the tour started in ‘17

Well I got some decent news. My youngest who is normally taking finals first day of jubilee, usually don’t care that he misses the jube every year because he is sketchy about camping in bad weather. This year with the lineup he has actually been complaining about not getting to go. Well over the weekend we were checking out his schedule and he goes to school the entire week after Memorial Day this year. So that means no finals on jubilee day and I can pull him out to come up early. May have both boys at the jubilee for the first time since year 3 or 4.
-
So Rude’s rumor scared Lukas Nelson into backing out of Jubilee 😂😆😆 but Marcus King Band taking their spot. Was looking forward to POTR but I’ve seen MKB and they’re pretty awesome. He sat in with everyone the year I went tobWanee

Hoteling in downtown Atlanta ($$$$) has kept this fest off my to do list. Maybe one year.
