  1. Umm I never said the 3rd one. The 1st was in Nola and memories of that are mush. I prob told u I thought her friend was cute which she was. The 2nd I absolutely did say. The talent was solid there. Admiring the local talent just means I’m still a man. Denying it goes against the laws of nature. Actually I think it was in Iowa where I really gushed about the talent but that was just on the street and post show with the drunk chicks swarming the hitchhikers dog. Who knew Iowa chicks were that hot. And I recall us giving her a 9 hour ride home and after dropping you off in Memphis, I talked some jive about how you were a great guy and she should continue to see u. That you weren’t around for and that was the clincher. You’re welcome.
  2. I’ll take credit where credit is due. Yes I did put in good words when needed and provided the amazing Nola balcony and dazzling conversation to make it look like you had super cool friends and helped seal the deal. You owe it to me to name your 2nd child. Testaverde Augustus. He’s a combo of a football legend and my favorite Caesar. Just call him T.A. for short. It a female name her Snookie Baller.
  3. You would have to have very diverse musical tastes to make use of that. Would only take 65 shows or so to break even. Plus you get primo tix for Lil Baby and posse NBA Youngboy rupaul’s drag race(boing) and rainbow kitten surprise. Where can I sign up.
  4. Is there a vip option for the national? Maybe meet and greet but it’s all GA and can get a tad oppressive. It still holds a special place in my heart as it was the 1st New Years run and I met cosmic mike for the 1st time and made sure goingbacktowhere actually made the shows. It was also the 1st show I took the GF to in 2014 when she was still mostly unfamiliar with the dead. Now she’s like i hope the play an eleven after St Stephen. On that note I already miss my boys. It’s time we go ahead and make a plan for these shows. We should do all 4 but I could live with norva and DC. I’ll handle the hotel bookings

Did you meet his youngest birthed deadhead. His oldest is at college. Both are GD savants. He did well as a papa.

On TIGDH they are playing 50yrvannuvetsaty of 8/23/68 which made me think that in 2019 I bet Dso is going to pull out some 50yr anniversary shows of the 69 shows. I’m predicting 2019 will be the year Dso really busts out lots of 69 shows!!!!!

Ive never understood how people could drug others unbeknownst to them. Seems wasteful....
  10. That new PA at pisgah is fantastic. Last year they turned a speaker for the dancers at the left but this year that new PA spread phenomenal sound everywhere.
  11. Not sure if you come out of those 1 hour showers cleaner or dirtier. Thankfully u douse the shower with bleach after.
  12. South and Midwest seem to get down more than anywhere else so less gawkers. It’s likelt to do with we have very little else. Big east coast cities are bombarded with activities. Midwest and south aren’t so we blow it out. Even cali seem more subdued than Cincy Indy Milwaukee.
  13. That’s bad timing. I waited for weeks on CashorTrade hoping for a bargain then got nervous and pulled the trigger yesterday. I’m sure u will have no problem getting rid of them. If u posted that price on CashorTrade, they would last 30 minutes.
  14. It’s time to ban phones at Dso shows so our brethren can dance like no one is recording!!!! It’s pretty tacky to record people letting loose. You see it a lot at non dead type shows but it’s rare at a dead show. Most should be getting down themselves and should try to outdo the dancer they want to record vs recording them and posting online. I may make a comment how it’s rude to record other people and put it online even though I’m no longer on social media and my only access is through the gf’s accounts and shed prob be even less pleased to know her name was associated with one of my legendary, sometimes brilliant, sometimes annoying rants. Chuck can attest to the annoying ones. I would never make those comments(besides the sugar in my coffee) because I will already know the answer to those questions 2 weeks beforehand. As Gr8tfulpair will attest he can just sit back and enjoy as I already have the itinerary set months in advance and know the distances b/t hotels and all associated details. My real life may be a mess but on tour I’m structured and on a schedule. My west coast trip planning was perfection down to where in Yosemite we wanted to camp to get back to the bay the quickest(crane flats of course). I’m like a cray supercomputer when it comes to trip planning. Within 5 minutes of seeing a schedule I know how it’s gonna play out. I can’t remember a setlist or people’s names until I meet them 10x but distances, dates and time analysis are spot on.
  15. This must be true because when me and my buddies are on tour, all we talk about in the hotel rooms is how sad suffering in other countries is and how we want to make a difference. That’s why we like the dead. We cry all night thinking about sad stuff. That’s just the type of people we are. Ne’er a bad word about anything or anyone. You would think we were the salt of the earth if you listened in when our close group communicates. Salt of the earth.

Dso plays most shows equally. It’s more about your state of mind and the company you keep. One of my top 10 in the last year wasn’t even a Dso show but our head space was as good as it could possibly get hanging with great friends. Rankings are the most subjective thing there is. I was miserable with injury West coast so I could never achieve lift off. I continually started to stand every few minutes b/c of the music only to realize I couldn’t. I was bummed and the music didn’t sound as good. If you are in a bad headspace about family, money, job etc, there’s no way to enjoy a show the same way. When I hear people say it was their favorite show it means they were ultra happy and that’s what it’s all about. I’ve heard people pan shows that I thought were brilliant because of the same things. If someone says it’s the best Dso ever then it is for them and that’s all the matters.

Man I love those 6/76 Boston music hall shows. That whole month is maybe my favorite month of dead music.
  18. At one of the Cal shows a guy next to me said is this black peter. I’m like yes. He said it’s one of those songs I just never really cared about enough to dig into the lyrics. I said it’s one of the most important, if not most depressing, songs hunter ever wrote. He then listened for around 30 secs then started talking to his gf for the rest of the song.

It’s time that sml started live streaming the shows. It does require a smart phone but that’s it besides a tripod. It seems sort of selfish to do all the shows(besides the south) and not share them with the world. You need to work out a Betty thing and get patched in but we’d take aud if not. Share your gift with the world sml. There are so many dead songs that talk about giving to your fellow man. Don’t be the rich man in his summer home saying just leave well enough alone. And don’t rebut by saying most dead songs are about murder. That’s true but there are many that aren’t. Just do it. I even have an iPhone 6 I’ll donate to you for this cause. Gps!!!!! Internet!!! Porn for those lonely nights in the car!! This is the smart phone triumvirate. Be sure to balance the 3 like a triumvirate would. Don’t pull a Caesar(only porn). Use the device for good!!

Gr8fulpair causes this liked an image liked an image but we have no clie what image was liked because our texts are now green and not the multi functional blue. All because he said he hated the Steve jobs movie and liked ex machina and wanted to represent with an android phone to encourage female android research.

Relisten.net actually works on my iphone now. For months I had to click the view on archive.org button to play shows from my phone. Hmm but now it only gives 1 source and it’s not formatted right. All the text is on top of each other. Weird
  24. So is the 100k+ show the rumors I’ve been hearing about Dso and the Stones doing a 50yr anniversary of altamont in 2019 complete with a 1 foot tall stage. You will need security. I’ll bring my pool cue.
  25. This was the 1st show where a band member seemed to be having more fun than everyone in the crowd. Rob K was grinning ear to ear the whole show. I thought it was awesome. You can’t fake the enthusiasm he was showing. Playing a 40yr anniversary show to a sold out redrocks audience has to Dso’s bands pinnacle if not most or all of individual members’. Playing with many of the original members has to be highlights, but as a tribute band all by themselves to sell out 9500 seats with a nugs broadcast which would have to be their largest viewship as well at home, this is an outstanding accomplishment and I don’t think I’ve seen the band have this much outward fun ever. Eaton was full Bobby rockstar the whole show too. Mattson was sporting a The Clash shirt which was prob the equivalent of a Jerry red shirt. I thought the musical highlight was how the 50 person family drums with all the kids was ended perfectly on 1 note. How hard is that!!! Having your kids and grandkids playing with you had to be a lifetime memory as well. Bravo DSO!!!! You guys were stellar.
