Curious if there are really 2 off days after aurora or if another show tba.
-
My parents were coming to the Wilmington shows with me but NCAA tourney is on and it ain’t happening this year. I plan on doing 9-13 shows on this tour depending on if I go to nola after Orlando bypassing 4 shows then finishing in Birmingham or do the tour straight through. Likely won’t do jazz fest this year so need some nola time. If lots of bands cancel and peeps cancel and Airbnb’s get cheap I may add it back in. $400 a night to be on Frenchman a week isn’t budgeted this year.

Will just be getting back from Italy on the Diamond Princess 2 cruise ship in time for this tour!!! Can't wait!!! If the President isnt cancelling his tour, no way DSO should. Plus deadheads are super hygienic and always keep a 1 meter distance from each other. Don't make me tweet "My trip to Mar-a-Lago got cancelled because of DSO overreacting to COVID-19". DSO may get a new presidential nickname. Best to stay off that radar.

Summerfest has a tba June 28th. That’s a possibility too. That was super fun last year. Steve Miller playing June 26th at the amphitheater Dso played at. Only issue is theres so much going on, that large pavilion was prob too big for Dso.

I’m going with Peoria>Chicago>the Lou>KC>Colorado x4.
-
The 25th or 26th would work nicely then on to Peoria for Friday outdoors on the river.
-
that works too!!! June 25-26 would prob start the tour. So it’s the early leg.
-
Saturday June 27 river edge park aurora. So Midwest summer tour. That makes it a cheap tour. Hmm should I add jazz fest now?
-
Saw those others on Ticketmaster. Nothing for me until BM in that section but I justify that tour that goes through July 4 as my anniversary gift every year. Every year starting in 2015 we did something dead over July 4. Means I can avoid buying something frivolous On the gf by buying something I want.
-
Yeah have been refreshing hoping the “Colorado” summer mini tour schedule was coming out lol. I’m going with Colorado even though cali would be epic again. The Midwest is cheap and close so that would suffice but the temps that time of year are oppressive.

You are at brunch and your girl says I thought yhst sign said Grateful....wet floor.
-
Blah. Love this show and it’s 1 I can identify by song 1 😂. I like that California song too.

You think friends who DON'T name their pets dead names are weird. You know the estimated flight cost to every major city in the US as well as many of the arrival times by heart. When tour dates are released you get 12 texts from friends and your reply is already booked it. You think people who cant take off work whenever they want have shit jobs.
-
so guessing they will announce Colorado or cali for their July 4 mini run. I’m in.
-
I decided Louisville over the Lou because the dome will ruin the sound at least in my experience. I want outdoor in the summer. The Nashville show is the Wednesday before jubilee. That has potential for a last second add on to enhance jubilee a bit.
-
I see deadco starting in boulder 7/10 this year. Would be great for Dso to do Colorado right before that in all the amazing outdoor venues. That mini summer tour has been my go to for the last 3 years. 7 shows near July 4th is a lock no matter where they go for me. Hell I’d love that west coast summer tour again. Actually I’ll take west coast again on a healed foot vs having to almost be carted in and having to sit the entire run. Not having the boot or crutches fucked me. AstroTurf in sandiego. Enough said. I mean ffs in sandiego you get no rain and grass can be grown easily. Turf sucks.

Got my Cardinal stadium floor GA today. 31 years ago I saw the stones in cardinal stadium. Chose Louisville over Nashville and other close shows as the Midwest is the best. Nashville is a lame audience. Louisville will get down.

Oh, Atlanta is a guilty pleasure song

My 3rd Dso show was Bloomington, Indiana acoustic in 2012. The band told everyone to stand up and dance before they started playing. I was already up front standing as I started out as a rail rat. The tinnitus precludes railing it now as Jeff’s monitor can be oppressive and lead to days of heavy ringing. The good thing about tinnitus is it generally has no effect on hearing loss and luckily it doesn’t drive me insane like some people. I completely forgot about it until just now but I do have a slight ringing as I type this.

I’m a huge fan of the 7 show summer mini tours. I’d love to be in Colorado for the 4th, but I’d also take another local run like last year too.
-
I think Eaton was taping shows in grade school. He wasn’t tall enough to ride the coaster but had his taper equipment set up 😂

I ain’t often right but I’ve never been wrong. Maybe since I like the 80s shows Dso more than other eras sans the rare 69, it clouded my perception. But gimme that variety!!! Anorher subjective comment is approaching....the Midwest is the best area to see Dso shows The crowd I think fully releases more than other areas of the country. Only really the west could argue that but I think it’s a more controlled, possibly more elegant of a dance vs a full on boogie. Then add in the space from past 2 nights and the crowd is left panting.

More space than I’ve had a a Dso show in years. Wide open. Flat massive dance floor. We were up front with a 15x20 area for 10 of us. No one crowded in. It was marvelous. If you wanted to go by the soundboard you could have a 30x30 area solo during set 2. What a great time. The whole crowd got down because we had tons of space. What’s good for the fans isn’t always good for the band, but once in a while 400 peeps in a big room is a dream come true. I realized the more space you get the more spoiled you get. When someone would move into my massive space I’d end up moving back. Normally I’d be like join this huge area but it got to where I wanted to dance all alone lol. It was super fun and the sound was great. Dso rules the 80s. I think they are best when they play 80s style. I don’t even think it’s close to any other era playing wise. Maybe considering they saw more Brent shows than any other keyboardist may play a factor. Or maybe I’ve been on this 80s kick lately and really adore the 83-84 shows. I think the dead was on top of their game then.

Realized stress has been tough on me lately. They wouldn’t let us dance upstairs like every year and that affected me the whole show. I haven’t been able to let things go lately. Even paying an extra $20 for upstairs they said no dancing on the huge dance platform. Was a fantastic setlist though but I realize I’ve been angry lately. I’ve always been good about letting go but not Monday. On yhar note driving to ft Wayne. Should finish the 430 mile drive right before showtime. A seat awaits me lol. Driving 80 plus ultra short stops puts me there around 745. Giddy up.
