glad you had “mild” symptoms. That means no hospital by CDC definition.......

2 friends plus the gfs sister caught Covid and it sounds like hell. Even the 24yr old sister was sick for a week and still has issues smelling 15 days later. One was a denier and said it’s worst sickness of her 42yr life. She didn’t deny the virus just the severity of it. That’s what happens when the president acts like it’s nothing and how he feels 20 years younger. Thank god that turd will lose his bully pulpit in a few months but he will still be quoted on the news every fucking day. He made news stations money and the number 1 goal of every business is to make a profit. Some news sources exploit our deep dark fears more than others to make money. Then you have the full blown profiteers that would switch sides in 2 secs if they could make more money. We all have to make sacrifices in life to feed our families. I printed t-shirts for a client in the mid 2000’s that were for the Florida state vs Colorado games and these shirts were pro Florida state. Yes it was gross but we have mortgages to pay. Yes these shirts may have incited violence but prob just a drunk punch in the face during or after the game. Do I have a point? Idk. Maybe theres a nugget in there to contemplate or maybe not. Likely just a whiskey ramble. Cheers and peace.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=210213060462210&id=100044205517323&anchor_composer=false Unfortunately I couldn’t make this one. This was 1 of the 3 I missed all summer. During the accoustic part of set 1, the keyboard player switches to banjo during been all around this world and cold Jordan and the drummer switches to bass during operator to let their bassist sing for the actual 1st time, nullifying the “let ping sing” shirts that were printed.

Palm Springs in January would be awesome and that area is 1 big drive in. And.....you may get a kardashian sighting if you are lucky!!!! Kanye didn’t get elected so they could show!! How exciting!!

I think the model will be 2-3 show drive in runs for a bit. That’s good for peeps who want to pop in for a weekend of shows and stay put. I still think 3 days in Miami sounds good or 3 days in January in the Coachella valley would be solid.

this was the show on TIGDH on Sirius when we popped in the car at 7am yesterday morning I believe. It was mostly background noise at that time of day. The main event was seeing the 1st snow of the year going through the West Virginia mountains.

Being able to bring your own booze in softened the blow of ticket prices. We wandered around from spot to spot to see friends. Security didn’t care what you did until your square had more than 5 in it and even then they walked off right after. But up front most people went in front of their cars leaving their square to the right empty so we could do as we please in multiple empty quads. Kept masks on most of the shows as it was cold. Back in the day we’d have to just have cold faces but now with masks we can act like we are wearing them strictly for safety reasons and not lose our machismo. I had my mask on plus a neck gaiter covering all but slits of my eyes at the end of show 3. If that show went an hour later it would have been brutally cold. That wind started to really blow the last 20 minutes of the show. It was nice to have the early show as we booked it out by 7am Monday. Great weekend. So glad we made the trip. That residence inn was packed with heads attending the show. Was sort of funny with all the tie dye masks rolling in on Friday. The front desk was perplexed by how busy they were on a weekend in these times. Our hotel neighbors had nitrous tanks pssshew-ing all weekend. I asked a guy if he could part with a balloon. He’s like sorry, you know, Covid. I was a tad confused by that but think I’m gonna use that excuse for lots of stuff. Can you spare some change. Sorry, you know, Covid. Do you have any extra beers. Sorry, you know, Covid. I’m pretty sure that can work on everything you need it to work on. Hey baby can you go rake the front yard. Sorry, you know, Covid.

Now that was a show. Night 1 was cool but night 2 is why I drove 11 hours. That was one of the best shows I’ve seen. That was what you want in a Halloween show!!! You could hear the banter on stage of them talking about the original show. There were things like Bobby dropped out during this part and they did a 9 minute drums we are just doing 5 mins. Note that’s what I heard. The accuracy of that may be off but they were talking it out as they went. Made me realize it was a recreation. I wasn’t familiar with it. People kept saying 71 but the viola>Cumberland was completely foreign to me and I guessed it had to be 70. I was like did they play viola in 71? I don’t have my deadbase so can’t look it up. But oh boy. That set 1 was just a wild setlist. It made more sense that it was an early and late show as the set 1 would have been really weird for the 1st half of a full show. There were some legit heads that said that it had to be an elective right. It’s one of those reminders that the dead did so much variety it’s hard even for the most die hards to know it all. gonna be hard to top this one. Today’s show is gonna come early. At least we gained an hour with the time change.

Bobby would have done walking on sunshine well especially the end part.

Today the storms are gone and we just ate some amazing crab cakes so things are turning around. Luckily we found out the show was changed to 6pm from the original 7pm. That would have sucked.

Ominous signs today. Drove all day in the hurricane rain then hit a 3 hour crash closure of I-79 as we were an hour from Morgantown which is our tonight destination. Just pull up at hotel ready for a nice bourbon or 5 after the multi hour delay and there’s no power anywhere in the area of the hotel. iPhone flashlight to light the room as I guzzle some michters rye.

What’s awesome is by the time I get home it’s gonna be Election Day and the ads will be over!!!! The nicest thing about being in a state where your vote doesn’t matter is that the ads are at a minimum. Saw that Carolina has the most ads of any state but cali. They had 7000 ads run last Wednesday alone over just 6 tv markets. Insanity. Nothing irks me more than watching football and seeing a fucking political ad.

Bringing a bunch of wood to make a fire in our spot so feel free to come to the bonfire.

I’d love a 3 show 85 recreation. I won’t be greedy. Just give me 2/3

Here’s a thought. With the pandemic expected to pull 15-20 trillion from the economy over the next 4 years why the fuck aren’t we funding the CDC more than a couple billion a year. Like for real. Why aren’t we hiring tons of scientists and funding more and more research around the country. I mean a lot fucking more. If we can have a multi trillion dollar stimulus we can put 200 billion into disease research. You have to think with the overpopulation in some countries this shits gonna happen again. We need a much better response from scientists who have a much better playbook and are ready to instantly implement it.

this is prob the 1st FM broadcast board I’ve seen of a Dso show. It’s nice that it was at a higher frequency (105.3) and not in the 88’s. Working in radio for years you can’t replicate highs on the low frequencies like you can on the higher ones. It’s why talk radio is more likely to be at the beginning of your dial. great sound on that board.

Now we just need to work on the 4th member of the SOTE gang. We need the omg you actually said that look and then throws out something even more demented, to keep us balanced lol. Theres a dynamic that’s hard to get without all 4 members. I still remember crawling on the floor laughing unable to get up in that DC embassy suites. If we didn’t value keeping our jobs and not having huff post articles written about us we could have recorded some nights for a Netflix special that make Dave chapelle look like don rickles, allegedly.
