  1. Playing pandora dead radio 7/11/22 at 7:49 est and was like that sounds like barraco singing. Phil and friends 6/28/06 Raleigh. Don’t get to hear barraco sing Bertha much. Very doubtful he’s ever been lead singer on Bertha in DSO and likely not a lot in his career but it was a solid lead! it must be Rob B day on pandora as 6/30/06 Phil and friends Camden St Stephen has him singing again a few songs later, although harmony vs the Bertha lead. Pretty sure Barraco asked Phil for 1 lesson on bass and next day he was like “mastered it. If dso will ever let me join, I can play bass if needed in a pinch”. Note that’s a dramatization and may or may not have happened. Get ready for a ton of that in that Jonah hill Jerry movie. I expect nonsense like Jerry shooting up in a locked bathroom stall and 2 cops are peeing outside and Jerry drops his dope and the cops are like us someone in there and it’s a stressful moment or all the invented conversations it takes to make a docudrama. To make it current and relevant as the Grateful Dead is in the mothballs of history while Deadco is fresh and fashion forward, Bobby should be telling Jerry “come on dude. People want this music slow. No one wants that fast style. We need to partner with Izod to have a Grateful Dead line of pastel polos and offer a $5k cashmere SYF blanket that will be a hit with our core fans”.
  2. we saw you there. Well we saw the fb stream with you on it lol
  3. they’ve been in New England or the northeast for a while. Dso has played 1 show in the Midwest in a year and that was a single cincy show this year besides jubilee. The northeast has gotten a buttload of shows this year. Since I’ve been seeing dso for the past 11 years I’ve never seen such a high concentration of shows east coast. Luckily for peeps up there they booked a lot of fests before covid was eliminated locking them in to connector shows. I’ve had to fly to Utah and DC to catch needed shows. I’m ready for some 5 hour drive local shows. edit: I forgot the 2 caverns shows but that’s technically the south.
  4. why are people so quick to disregard the absolute likelihood of false flag operations. Assume everything you see on the news is fake with actors pretending to be grieving parents. White supremacists? Have you ever thought that white people don’t even exist and that’s the biggest false flag ever perpetrated? If a tree falls in the woods it’s likely Hollywood trying to get us to save the trees and yes they make a sound b/c bill gates chainsawed them all. It’s known fact that Hillary Clinton has child dungeons and unfortunately she had so much power she stopped trump from saving the millions of kids that she and pelosi drink the adrenaline glands of nightly. Yes I understand you may be confused that with that much power she’d have won the election in 2016, but that was a deflection trying to prove that she and Gates don’t control everything. So rig the election so you lose to prove everything is fair. False flag. Get with the program people. Trust no one over 30.
  5. It’s gonna happen unless DSO is retiring which isn’t a thing but no clue where. I’d guess Midwest/south.
  6. https://www.tixr.com/groups/cmjubilee/events/catskill-mountain-jubilee-2022-42862 thursday single day is $70 friday-Sunday singles are $90. Link for those is above. Scroll down to the bottom for single day tix
  7. I’ve had some great experiences at Deadco. Boulder x2 a few years back was awesome. I really enjoyed all 4x I went to see them at wrigley but Boulder was just special at Folsom field. Watching the sun set over the mountains on a gorgeous day just started it off perfect. The tix are super cheap if you get yours on CashorTrade like we do. There’s 50-100 tix dumped on show day. Be patient and you get in for $20. I hate to say it but I’ve got a bunch of $2-$10 tix for dso on CashorTrade. The $2 were a pricing error the guy honored.

    Seaside

If you had the worst that jersey had to offer, you mean Snookie was there??? Fist pumping all night? Good fights between dudes that were arguing about which tanning bed is the best after doing 14 tequila shots?
  9. Again if you look at songs played, it is deep. They have played 140 songs at least 2x Of course transitions are extremely basic with generally 1 band member performing the transition then everyone joining in. It’s some very basic stuff. You never see the whole band do an amazing transition. I just don’t think everyone’s on the same page. It’s so slow that it’s probably harder to play than fast tempo. I’ve also seen them get lost in a 5 minute noodle with no point to it. It’s like playing just to play notes but lacking meaning.
  10. the setlists aren’t stale. The way they play it is. They go pretty deep in the catalog. They just did an eleven>Stephen I think to open a show
  11. lol I saw that “egregious error” and was like huh?
  12. it’s not mayer, it’s Bobby that’s the problem with that ludicrous tempo. Meili sent me a US blues from St. Louis and it was so slow I don’t even know what genre it would be considered. It’s not rock. It could be country? we saw Phil and friends. If he did arena tours I’m on board. He plays traditional dead tempo not this nonsense style
  13. Meili did a St. Louis up and back. it’s sad MC that you skipped Boulder. We had an amazing time at Folsom field. GA tix in the back was clutch. Back end zone 400 feet away and I was melted from the light show. It’s local and you can get in for $20. Sad bro. Shoreline is too for for John A. He missed the dso Petaluma show b/c it’s like a 30 minute drive. 😂 Bro there are hundreds of $20 tix on CashorTrade. Last second there were pavilions for $40.
  14. part of the fun is guessing the year or for a rare few, the exact show if it’s a unique and famous setlist or if they were at the show. They have recreated as early as 1968 (1 set was a Grateful Dead setlisy as the dead played mostly 1 set in those days then a dso setlist using songs that could have been played in 1968) and They have played up to a 1994 dead setlist but no 1994 since 2008. They generally stop at 1992. You pretty much get up to Bruce Hornsby era.
  15. i was at that show. Was a few months after Jerry died and was seeing if they could fill the void. I hated the setlist. It wasn’t dancy and happy. That was last time I saw phish until 2019.
  16. Bonnaroo starts tomorrow. The highs in Nashville are supposed to be 99 Thursday and Friday. Screw that. Plus you have to walk minimum half a mile from camp to the music venue if not a full mile if you don’t get there early. They have 2 air conditioned medical tents where they put an IV bag to rehydrate you. The medical guy said an IV gets them back to normal pretty quick. Hell I think I’d just go say I’m overheating and get the IV fluids. Maybe go early AM to recover from the previous night. Hey bro. Could you toss a little morphine and some B12 in the bag to get rid of the hangover. Can you just leave this hooked up and I’ll pour ice water in the bag as needed. Bonnaroo is set up as a young persons fest with the brutal heat being end of June in the south and the ridiculous walk to camp. You could pay $4k for super vip to get within a few blocks if you like to throw money away or you are one of those types who need to feel important. There is actual music there though vs Coachella with no one I’ve ever heard of and only 20% are influencers at bonnaroo vs the majority of Coachella’s crowd.
  17. It’s 100 degrees out and hockey is still on. That tells you the season is way too long. On that note I’d be at a cold hockey game right now if I could. I can’t get it under 78 in my house right now in 99 degree heat. It slowly started to creep up from 72 this morning to 75 midday and now it’s 78…..
  18. So meili was watching the Tonys the other night as she’s did a lot of musical theater in the day and now I can’t get smooth criminal out of my head. I keep singing. “Annie are you ok. Are you ok Annie”. Fuck. It’s on repeat in my head.
  19. i think half the country has had covid in the last 3 weeks. Everyone’s doing home tests so the official numbers are way lower than in the days where you did drive thru testing. order your 8 free tests here. It’s a simple auto fill form. https://special.usps.com/testkits
  20. Anyone seen the video of this show. I saw video tapers on night 2 and 3 but it was a bit wet night 1 so can’t seem to find any.
  21. thats what they said Friday but on Saturday they said too much of everything is just enough so I’m confused.
  22. i think the neighbors moonshine got to me during night 1. 1st time I’ve puked at a show since 95 at the pyramid in Memphis at 23yrs old(not the last time I puked, but last time puked at a show). Got overheated and boom. It sort of drained me Saturday as well. By Sunday I was alive and kicking again. I did get up front to watch Scott Friday and by d/s I was on one of those comfy couches in VIP enjoying the rest of the show. We discovered that the VIp deck got abandoned by set 2 so that was the dance spot for me Saturday night and for a few of us on Sunday. We had a 20’x20’ area for 5 of us on Sunday on nice wood vs the freaking rocks. The VIP deck is a clutch spot. Great sound and tons of room once the chairs are gone.
  23. i think you now know that if you only see dso for 1 run all year it has to be jubilee. There’s nothing like it for dead fans. If I knew you weren’t gonna be there, as i just assumed it you being 2 hours away, I’d have hounded you into submission. It’s the best place on the planet Memorial Day weekend just like Frenchman’s st in New Orleans is the best place on the planet last weekend of April through 1st weekend of May.
  24. Some thoughts on this years fest. 1. Vip was a muddy disaster zone. 3 straight weekends of fests left it with little grass if any. We camped in 6” tire tracks. In our 30’ space we had to drive through our tent area and pull to the line then camp where wed driven over. They have to figure out a better system. If that was always car camping inside they could make a driveway down but most fests there don’t have inside camping so they can’t make a permanent vip. Personally I want to buy an RV spot and camp on the gravel since VIP was unliveable. GA on the other hand was nice and grassy b/c no cars drive in the bowl. You could tell who was vip and who was GA by looking at their shoes. Vip had mud to their knees and GA had maybe slightly dirty shoes if that. Luckily for legend valley they have no shows for 3 weeks and can work on the grounds. 2. It was awesome to be back at a real fest. We had an amazing time. The second we left our camp, everything was perfect. 3. That new PA is freaking insane. It’s the Meyer Sound Panther array. Top of the line large format PA. Smaller footprint than the previous meyer sound array but with the same kick. Super clean sound. Can’t beat the sound at jubilee. When Cotter has the perfect tools he can make magic and the sound was that. There was no ear fatigue at all even though the sound was massive. 4. The staff and security are so super friendly. I forgot how friendly everyone is that works there. It’s generally the opposite of any big indoor venue where they look at concert goers as suspects to be watched. Not the case at all at jubilee. These guys and gals are doing 16 hour shifts. I was like wow that’s a shift. One lady said she actually works the fests as a side job b/c she loves it and not for the 48 hours of pay. One had a lightning bolt hat and was grooving near vip. Loves jubilee b/c there’s no hassles and the crowd is super nice plus he loves dead. Friendly staff really does make a difference. You really don’t see many smiles from security at the caverns. The big sheriff at the caverns was threatening a guy playing guitar outside the gates to scram or he was going to jail. Hell even the sheriffs driving around at jubilee weren’t looking to get anyone. There’s such a vibe difference at jubilee. At the caverns there are 3 security inside packing weapons on their hips. Wtf. I could prob go on and on. The disgusting camp probably only lowered the happiness factor to a 98/100. It’s time to make jubilee a 6 day festival like lost lands at legend valley where people can come in on Tuesday. Or just add a pre-party day with just dso playing at night. I have to think you could get at least 1k to add an early entry show for an additional $75 or so. Let’s make this trip longer!!!
