In 2016 Tony Romo broke his collarbone in the last preseason game which forced Dak into the starting position as a rookie. During preseason Dak lit it up throwing for over 80% completion rate but that was preseason. Dak comes in and loses game 1 to the Giants who had a really good defense. Then we roll off 11 straight wins which was most in franchise history. Romo never saw the field again besides a few snaps in a mop up role. The reason Dak won the job wasn’t that we just won 11 straight. He had 10 of 11 games in that stretch over 100 passer rating throwing 19tds yo only 2 ints plus he had 6 rushing TDs and countless big scrambles on 3rd and long. 3 games that rookie year he had the highest QBR for the week and finished 3rd in QBR for the year. What’s funny is these commenters that hate Dak want to compare us sneaking out 2 wins with the backup to the 2016 performance of Dak. These guys go real quiet when Dak plays great but hundreds come out when we lose. Romo was hurt in 2015 as Dallas went 4-12. Then with Dak the next year we went 13-3. Dak has his warts like most QBs but teams like The Bears have been in QB hell for a decade with constant flops like Trubisky and Fields. In 2016, Dallas tried to draft Paxton Lynch but Denver got him and we got lucky with Dak in round 4. In 2014 Jerry tried to draft Johnny Manziel but per an insider who posts, a few execs threatened to quit if Jerry overruled the 4 person rule where 4 execs have to sign off on a player to draft him. So Jerry didn’t get his guy thank god. There’s the other issue that we’ve converted so much of Daks salary to signing bonus to kick the money down the road that he’s almost assured of getting a contract extension after 2024 or we will eat 30 mil of dead money that’s already on the books for the 2 extra void years of his contract that teams use to kick the can.

I participate in the Dallas cowboys SB nation blog. It’s pretty disgusting. There’s so many people who have hated Dak from day 1 that with week 1’ playing bad before the line gave up a broken thumb and the backup winning 2 straight, these people want him replaced. What’s funny is the whole blog wanted us to sign a better backup than cooper rush but with 2 straight wins they are like get rid of Dak. The 6 year backup has been cut by us and the giants in his career and still hasn’t posted a 100 passer rating game even though Dak had 10 last year which was 2nd behind Aaron Rodgers. Gotta assume the Texas racists don’t like a black guy as the face of the team.

His son is one ugly human being. He’s a billionaire but he’s the football version of Harvey Weinstein looks wise. If Harvey looked like Brad Pitt, no girl is calling the cops on him. Not being sexist but I doubt he gets rejected much especially if he tried to date up and coming actresses.

Do you think they will play terrapin tonight? Dude it’s a 1969 show. So are you saying we may get one?
-
If they were doing 2 shows we’d have been there. That’s a fun outdoor spot

I had that experience in Boulder. Had a great group of friends we were with in a wide open area and we were all feeling great. I’ve seen like 15 Deadco shows and always hope for that perfect Boulder weekend. Alas.
-
that’s a great description. You have hope then it’s dashed. It’s hard for me to let go of the way I know it can’ be played. . I let go at JRAD just fine. Love their take. Maybe it’s just the tempo.

i decided to deadbase it and playin was played every single show from 3-22-72 to 8-13-72. So yep definitely batting 1.000

I assume the very loud swearing was between songs or setbreak lol. Swearing wouldn’t help us know who you were around our crew b/c the F bomb isn’t a bomb at all but an adjective, adverb, verb and noun depending, but it’s used in most sentences if speaking properly. cheers

Deadco announced they are hanging it up and TBD dates summer 2023 will be their final tour. RIP slow dead music. Can you imagine if there’s a Deadco tribute band? Please no. But… if you are a smart young entrepreneur musician there could be a market of people who like their dead really slow and want to sit during what are supposed to be fast songs. If nothing else it can only help DSO to get back doing real tours not JRAD style 2-3 day weekend runs. Lol it’s not like I can hit the road for a week anyway now, but in a few years it’s on.

day before thanksgiving 10 hours away will never be on the docket for us.
-
thought you were doing this run. You do everything.

There is a recording b/c Cotter records the shows. Maybe set him up with a fabulous carriage ride in Paris or surprise him with some Paris high fashion. Cotter is really in to French fashion and custom tailored Italian leather skinny jeans. I’d say you could for sure get a tape if you got him into the Vatican library for him to finish his Da Vinci code research he’s been toiling on for the better part of 2 decades. He’s so close!!

that’s been 50% of dso tour the last year. You’ve had way more than your share. Cheers Do the Milwaukee shows. It’s the best crowd. Amazing energy. Great place to see shows. It’s become my favorite place to see shows for the amazing crowd energy. Barraco thought people were going to fall over the balcony everyone was dancing so hard. The riverside or the Pabst are great spots. Do those. We are flying to Chicago and taking the train to Milwaukee. We decided to do the next weekend with flight to chicago then St. Louis then a 3 hour bus home lol. Can fly Paducah to Chicago but not St. Louis and I hate driving to Chicago so that’s the plan

Several ties to app state on the board. 1 Alum plus a parent of a freshman at app state.

I’d be in for Chicago if they added a Thursday show the night before. I hope that there will be shows added to this schedule. It seems strange there wouldn’t be any show for 5 days between Milwaukee and Chicago and Chicago could sell out 2 shows. The Vic could be in use but there are so many Chicago venues. I’d really hate to miss the Chicago 25th anniversary show though. i bet a ton of peeps will come in for the 25th anniversary show but it’s a 1 off show. Hmm

Lots of 3 day weekend setups. Maybe that’s where the band is at these days. Im looking at Milwaukee as it’s my fav place to see dso. Those guys up there are nuts. Also will do the St. Louis Saturday. If there were 2 nights at the Vic we’d do it. Wish they would add a Thursday before. There’s a shot at the National but man that venue sucks. It is so ridiculously oversold you can’t move anywhere on the floor and they harass you upstairs for dancing unless behind a seat.
-
so John cougar is still putting down 5 packs a day? That’s a crazy habit. Even if you’re dosed up and chain smoking, 5 packs is nutty.

Kentuckys defense looked solid against Florida. We’ve had 4 DL guys drafted over the last few years so I didn’t expect us to smother Florida like that at Florida. steve sarkisian turned Texas around quickly. That defense looked great. Jimbo fisher only had the number 1 recruiting class plus another couple top 5 ones and he can’t do crap. He’s a horrible coach. A&M bought the best players there were to buy and the giant killer app state still took them down.

National period of mourning will still be ongoing when DSO is there. How can you celebrate during a period of mourning. Luckily it’s not the Royal Albert hall or it wouldn’t happen. If the show does goes on. It wouldn’t be cool to dance night 1, but you have 8 more nights of shows. It would be tacky to dance during the mourning period of the death of the longest ruling monarch in english history and the 2nd longest ruling monarch in the history of the world. Head bobbing may be acceptable
-
If you don’t hear playin enough on regular tour you will after 9 shows of it. There’s a shot that 1 of the 9 nights won’t give you a playin, but I’d guess you will be batting 1000.

Wow. Just finished the Florida state LSU game. There was a lot of talent on that field. Crazy crazy finish. Deep into the rule books to finish the game. Player didn’t get OB with 1 sec left like the play was called. It was then overturned which should have ended the game but b/c it was a review after the 1st down clock stoppage, then the clock starts on the snap and not the whistle. LSU had to go 50yd in 20 secs with no TOs and did it then missed the XP for overtime. Well FSU blocked the XP as the TE let a dude come through his hole blocking a guy further away. 2 evasive running QBs made for one of those games where anything can happen on any 3rd and long.

I was shocked that Ohio state didn’t rout ND. Ohio state has the most loaded offense in the country. I don’t know about Ryan Day. Osu has been an extreme letdown the past few seasons. They recruit as well as Georgia and Bama and those 3 are only 3 teams in that elite recruiting group. Well actually 4 now since A&M has the highest paid group of freshmen and the number 1 class. That App state game was insane. I paused it after they missed the 1st 2 point conversion only to see that 4 plays later each had scored a TD. There were 3 TDs in a 22 second span. Is that a record? Nutty finish. i just finished watching Florida v Utah this morning. That was a tough game to beat. On 4th down, Richardson of Florida avoids a sack at the 15 and must get the ball in the end zone and does it. Then Utah moves down the field with the help of 4 timeouts along with a clock error that stopped the clock for them and they throw an int from the 3yd line to seal the game. Wow. Georgia looked better on offense than last year, albeit weaker on defense considering 3 D line guys were drafted in the 1st round with picks 1, 17 and 31. That’s a huge talent drain. They are still loaded with NFL talent but they won’t have college’s best all time defense like last year. This was the 5th time in the last 16 games they didn’t allow a TD and the 13th time they didn’t allow a rushing TD. Wow.
