you don’t need to worry about smoke. Very few light up indoors anymore with vapes. The only exception was at the UC theater in Berkeley. We get in line early with John A to grab a table and 1st thing John pulls out a bowl and sits it on a table and the waitress comes up and he hits the bowl lol. I’m like what are you doing. He’s like it’s Berkeley. That’s like the only indoor spot I’ve seen where everyone smokes vs just vaping.

There was a point where I wanted to name our little man Levon (lead singer drummer)as I really love that name as well as Levon Helm’s voice and drumming, but figured 95% of the people would think we named him after an Elton John song so didn’t want that. Meili was telling people we were going to name him Lettuce for a few weeks.

You aren’t supposed to have an external generator that’s not connected to the RV. Not sure if that’s enforced or not, but some of those create a lot of noise pollution

There’s no power hookups for RV’s. The walk from vip RV to the stage is around 500 feet paved. You can put chairs up behind the dance crowd or on the VIP deck. You’re super close everywhere. Minimal walking. BYOB. Bring a cooler of beer to the stage. Very chill and laid back. The VIP viewing area is behind the crowd. I don’t tbink it really offers much besides the water cooler and partial covered area in case it starts Down pouring. Make sure you get a VIP ticket for everyone in the RV and 1 RV vip pass. Everyone needs vip tix to get to the RV in vip. cheers P.S. GA RV is around a 1000 foot walk to the stage with probably a 100 foot vertical climb vs a 50 foot for vip rv. Your kids will love it. It’s fantastic. As long as you don’t punch anyone you won’t get in trouble. There are no arrests during the fest. No undercovers. It’s not like Bonnaroo where they work with cops to feed the police budget via 500 annual arrests. I remember 1 year someone had a 5 foot bong walking around at the rail lol. Year 1 and 2 there was also a topless chick. That’s definitely encouraged but not mandatory of course.

Anyone who does whole tours will hear some songs more than they want, but people just popping a 3 show weekend or doing just 1 show on a tour make up 99% of the audience. I heard the 1st one in Milwaukee and enjoyed it. Life changed and I won’t ever see whole tours again so I don’t expect I’ll get burnt out on any new song.

Lmao I need reading glasses. I thought that said 83 orgasm and I was wondering if rob had some story in 1983 that involved that song and a chick. Lol. B3 makes a lot more Sense

Billy is doing 2 Bridgestone arena shows in Nashville this weekend and I’ve never seen a ticket dump like this on CashorTrade. Yesterday there were 66 posts to sell tix well under face by just the afternoon with only 5 takers. Stubhub has 900 tix for sale for as little as $23 for lower level that were $80. Peeps can’t unload $33 lowers on CashorTrade. Never buy arena tix of jam bands early is the lesson. I was shocked hearing that Billy was playing Bridgestone when it was announced. Trying to sell 14k tix is so hard and he plays constantly so it’s not like a 1 off Tool show that wont come around again.

Curious how fast DSO played the opening Touch when they recreated the 6-15-1985 dead show in 2014 and 2002. That song is so ridiculously fast tempo. If you aren’t familiar with it check it out. It’s so fast, it’s really not played well and would be hard to play well. You can’t really do anything with it at that tempo. You are trying to just not fall off the bus.

I downloaded it a while back and it’s somewhere on a flash drive. Eaton said he had no problem with people uploading SBDs to archive after they were no longer for sale. Someone needs to do that

I was better than 1 of them. I knew that 1st TOO was Brent and not pig but clueless on the year guessing 84 with no reasoning behind it. I’ve never really sat down with early 80’s dead. The board quality was pretty weak post Betty and there’s so much Dead of great quality I haven’t much touched anything but 82 and 85 from the early 80’sv I guess I should slog through 1980 and accept the quality.

That’s the weirdest charity donation I’ve ever heard. Housing and weapons training for trans communities as well as help for veterans of the black panther movement? Curious what type of weapons training they do. Guns, nunchucks, knives? Very strange for a dead charity to offer weapons training. Of course we have to check our weapons at shows besides in Alabama and Oklahoma where if you go through the metal detector green then you need to go buy a weapon at merch.

it’s just the way it is. Some things will never change.

the score was already accidentally posted on PFR. 37-34 eagles. The Sportsbooks had that score at 250-1 and it quickly got bet down to 80-1. Someone’s getting fired in the NFL offices for letting the final score slip out early. 10-0 Chiefs after Q1 is what the NFL has scripted, but the eagles make a comeback b/c the nfl knows it’s good for ratings.

weren’t you at that Cleveland house of blues in like 2017. I think I did that whole tour with mei and think you were on the road as well.

i was planning on going to those with Gr8tfulpair before my mom had surgery and then had no one to keep the little man. I’d have been real disappointed

in the offseason you add a FA who gets you 18 sacks and you trade for a WR1 who gives you 1500 yards. That’s how you get to the SB.

Sml is the rock star. Scott is the groupie who lived in his car following the band around eating vegetarian burritos for weeks on end. Different people. what’s nuts is the 2 shows I contemplated doing—JRAD Atlanda and dso Tahoe were both cancelled.
-
Tahoe in February is risky. I remember us barely making it out of town and the cops checking to see if you had chains on or they wouldn’t let you up the pass to go to Vegas. Dso stopped doing Midwest in winter b/c of all the snow and ice storms and went west but with Tahoe and Colorado you never know if the show will go on this time of year. Is that the dude who stole Jubilee? I don’t think jubilee went as crazy ever. Everyone was like that sml guy was the best thing they have seen since Billy string graced the stage. I heard strangers compare it to the moon landing if the moon landing was actually real and not faked which it was. Faked.

Saw dso do valley road a few years ago at Cleveland house of blues and had no clue that the dead ever played a Hornsby song with him in the band. This was just the 3rd time dso played it. there’s a weird thing searching starbase. It shows the original GD show in the list of times played but on show notes it says show has not been played yet. Hmm. http://dsoforums.net/dso_starbase/dso_shows.php?quick_filter=Valley+road&quick_filter_operator=Contains

your car used to be included so this is year 1 of a car pass being needed. Email support and ask them. They respond quickly.

The June 76 shows are all fire with awesome setlists!! The around and around plus a Sampson, might as well and high time would have me firmly guessing 76 even though there would be a slight shot at 77.
-
Looks like it’s gonna be a tough ticket. No one’s put any for sale yet. I see Frisco and a few for San Diego. Usually you will see a bunch day before or day of show. Peeps in Colorado use CoT a lot with redrocks so I’ve got my fingers crossed Hugh.

Have a blast west coasters!!!!

set a notification on CashorTrade. It’s never failed me. One year I didn’t get jubilee vip tix early and they sold out and found a pair way under face to boot a couple weeks before. I got Billy strings impossible tix for a 300 seat Christmas party in 2018. Got Phil at terrapin crossroads where I needed a photocopy of their ID and a note stating they sold for face or less. It’s such a great resource I hate to even tell peeps about it. I got panic floors for New Years under face a few weeks back. There’s zero reason to ever buy Panic, Phish, Deadco or Billy strings ahead of time b/c so many tickets get dumped day of show ot week of show.

Losing pollard to a broken leg eliminated any ground game possibility. You have to be able to run to win. It’s how Cincy beat the bills. It’s why the eagles are so good. If the damn kicker had made the 1st xp, we’d have kicked the 50 yarder and there would have been no broken leg 2 plays later and no int a play after. We wouldn’t have been in that spot. And it’s really sad for Pollard. He’s a FA who’d have gotten paid well from someone and now his future is uncertain.
