  1. Just listened to the 2nd night grand Rapids on relisten..we thought about going up, but it rained hard all day Saturday and it would have been 700 miles round trip. Glad you got a red rocking chair, as jumbled as it was. Nice he's reworking it into the sets. Maybe see you at the NYE run. We're front row balcony, planning on draping a recently purchased tyedye sheet we got at the Hampton phish shows.
  2. So many roads >wheel >Ruebin !! Bet that was a treat Reads similar to what happened in Hershey 1985 first set Burdsong>comes a time> deal
  3. Can't make it to a show in person? You can tune into the live stream on @mixlr - wherever you are in this world! Our audio wizard Andy Lytle live streams each show, now with new and improved sound clarity - straight from the board. >>> http://mixlr.com/billy-streams/ <<<
  4. Billy Strings added to next year's jubilee. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Leftover Salmon is also on the bill
  5. "gotta a feeling 21 is gonna be a good year..."
  6. First dew in 18 months according to one of the reviews. Wonder if dso would ever try that mix of verses in a recreation. Whole set rips, thanks for the lead
  7. Looks like a "freebird" encore request was finally honored! The band played Halloween dressed as eagles and played bird songs all night . Opening and closing the first set (well second song in) with the Grateful Dead's Birdsong...we're looking forward to his Nye run in Pontiac, 10/31/18 — Billy Strings, Tractor Tavern, Seattle Learning To Fly Bird Song Hollow Heart While I’m Waiting Here The First Whippoorwill Turmoil & Tinfoil Feathers Pyramid Country> Wings For Wheels> Born To Be Wild> Bird Song And Your Bird Can Sing A Robin Built A Nest On Daddy’s Grave Thirst Mutilator> Dust In A Baggie Seven Bridges Road White Dove Flying Over Water Dealing Despair On The Line Meet Me At The Creek E: Freebird > I’ll Fly Away
  8. Wasn't the case in Hampton. Shakestreet decked out with heads recalling lots of glory days with Jerry in the mother ship. Phish is rocking hard this tour and it's a trip fest. Joe Walsh's Walk Away to close out first set, first night. Littlefeat's Skin it Back second song into 3rd night. Tonight they raged a Moonage Daydream out of Mercury. Lots of wonderful women at Hampton and the cops let everything roll with not a single black eye. Gotta love general admission for three nights with a huge parking lot scene from 2pm to 1am. Now's never been a better time to get some extremely powerful light shows in and they're playing peak. I also recommend getting in as many Billy Strings shows as he is scheduling some solo shows next year. That banjo player is wild and competent enough to break off into his own band. Billy's run them ragged but right this past year. His Pontiac new year's run is gonna culminate a year near perfect playing and psychedelia.
  9. Everyone is the same, exactly the same, experience shapes the ego, which creates perceived differences
  10. nobody's fault! Thanks for the lead, never heard this before, really great Jerry and he graciously gives the spoonful to Bobby when finished
  11. Yes, lots of good bands then and now, especially dark star orchestra, it's all happening just as it's supposed to
  12. Do you think if Jerry had lived to be 75 we would have all these GD cover bands? Was his passing a good thing to keep the music and all that goes with parking lot dwellers alive and thriving?
  13. Red Rockers : 9/7/83 (night time show, smouldering cauldron) 9/7/85 2pm show, brilliant afternoon!
  14. Those data also indicated that higher empathy people were more passionate in their musical likes and dislikes, such as showing a stronger preference for unfamiliar music.
  15. http://blog.smu.edu/research/2018/06/11/people-who-deeply-grasp-the-pain-or-happiness-of-others-also-process-music-differently-in-the-brain/ good read , esp the part about related to unsung music. Picked this up while reminiscing about Guy Clark and trying to nail Texas 1947 for an upcoming performance. I believe this article has some relevance to DSO and the Grateful Dead. Got to sift through it though.
  16. close friend of mine has developed and is distributing, when he gets the time to complete each sleeping mask, lucid dream devices that allow you to be conscious while dreaming, he got 15 of them started with a group in Hawaii this summer. He ain't so interested in making a mint, more so in dream exploratory, there are those who want to cash in on this tho
  17. The World , Brent's last shows, that place was huge! Also meant no more alpine
  18. The Littlefeat set is up on sugarmegs. Thanks for the review of dicky Betts, been missing him
  19. 9/8/83 my second show, right after my first 9/7. If they had choose 9/7 we would be up in the air as to whether 83 or 85? (unless they set the show time at 2pm, then we would know, right?)Both occurrences worthy of recreating, unless they want to set precedent and make RR a completely DSO thing with an original? Either way, Red Rocks has a way of crystalizing the experience. Maybe next year Cincy can be dosed with 6/24/19? That would certainly merit a move from the Taft to Riverbend
  20. Greg, I can appreciated where you're coming from; however, I don't think there was anything wrong with the touch of grey referenced moment for the dead. We got a ton of great shows after Jerry survived in 86. Now when Brent passed that was a whole different scenario. Gotta run
  21. Did dark star skip the second verse of fire like the dead did for this show?
  22. 1/19 & 1/21 2016 are both up on relisten.net
  23. Opened tonight's free show in Hamilton with dreadful wind and the rain > dust. Later in the set he started with living like an animal took it into MAMU back Into animal then finished off MAMU. Beautiful night on top of a river over look with incredible clouds and a double rainbow. A hawk flew in half way into the show
