  1. Sound checked: Let the Good times Roll and Mama Tried.
  2. Opened the show with a smokin After Midnight > Second That Emotion! Lots of JGB...sitting here in limbo, struggling man, closed the first with a monster Birdsong. Second set opener was a Sugar>Scarlet (raged like it was going to be a Fire)then wrapped up Begonias and played a top notch rendition of My Brother Esau, a Promontory Hyryder show up. Terrapin was big because they were playing right under the moon, shining brightly, holding away despair. Once the Station was completed they started a wang dang doodle from the ground up, El Paso > Cumberland Blues, they remembered to close the whole show out with Sunshine Daydream. There was a Catfish John in there along with Tom Thumb Blues. I'm really wondering where and when the next show is going to happen?
  3. https://archive.org/details/gd1983-09-11.125609.mtx.dusborne.flac16 I've been waiting to post this show. It's one of my all time favorites. I listened to the tape of this show while at summer school at Arizona State University, especially the first set then. Apparently during the second set, because of a light rain, a rainbow appeared during Morning Dew. As I've posted before, the wang dang doodle is one of my favorite segues ever. My first shows were red Rocks right before this musical adventure. That last night at RR, as everyone was walking the lot to their cars, there was a soft chant going on "ssssaaannnta fe, ssssaannnta fe", over and over. I didn't know what was going on back then, but looking back now I realize it was tour heads going down there for the final show of this run and magic was being conjured up Gotta love those midset Hell in a Buckets, esp 83 buckets, this show is gold at every turn, they must've had nothing but love in Santa fe
  4. Too pricey for me plus it's in the middle of the week which means taking a whole week considering travel, unless flying, then it ends up being $500.00. Nice for those in the area and others who have unlimited entertainment $$$. However, this is a start, let it roll...probably going to be unbelievably good weather πŸ™‚βš‘βš‘πŸŒ€ and we know the music and people there will be outstanding
  5. Set #1 Alabama Getaway > Promised Land. New Speedway Boogie... set the stage, nice open parking lot with plenty of room to dance and move around, beautiful night out, really enjoyed meeting new friends, Poetry Girl and Rude (again). Lots of dead to the core fans in Indy with Hyryder playing so often. There was a wedding party that showed up and thr band played TLEO for the couple's song with them out in front arms around each other.
  6. That's a damn good looking setlist and a very generous review.
  7. Ok, we're all chomping at the bit, what went down? As shallow as it my seem to those on the front line. I enjoy coming this forum and reading up on pertinent info, and the good humor we have here. I'm a lazy fuck as pointed out by others here. I'm guessing those that were there are keeping it for those that were there. Understandable, you make the effort you get the goods.
  8. People purchase a table that had 4 seats and has lines around it. When you walk away to go to the bathroom or get a drink, mask up. They checked temps going in. Not to be missed as the band played through the riverfront live huge pa system, it was crystal and loud, a good clear loud. The interplay between lead guitar, Charlie, and keyboard was intriguing, they followed each other, then joined, then off on their own. At times it was so nicely meshed I couldn't tell if it was guitar or keys, then they separated.
  9. I tell you what, the weather this past weekend for the Hyryder show on the river was unbelievable, the wind breezing in and the cloud formations made for a truly hallucinatory sunset. I am soooooo into the upcoming indy show this Saturday. Hyryder has some magic they're weaving, ended the first set with I need a miracle end of song blues jam going into a down and dirty wang dang doodle. They opened quite a few portals throughout the night. Two big delicious sets and couldn't have been a nicer crowd. Black Peter in the middle of the first set said it all..."go run and see, run, run and seeeeee..." THANK YOU FOR THE INTRODUCTION/ INDOCTRINATION !!!!!⚑⚑
  10. These drive in shows need to hit the road! I think it would be a great way to get out in the neighborhood and kindle the grateful dead spirit
  11. St. Stephen πŸ™ƒ Although I did get one of the 83 shows in Cincinnati a couple of years back created by Dark Star Orchestra and an elective one at Frontier field and also a 1976 recreation in Colorado. But, alas none from The Grateful Dead darn it. I tried and tried to be there as much as possible just in case it came down.
  12. https://archive.org/details/gd1987-08-20.140236.UltraMatrix.sbd.cm.miller.flac1644 It's a really good show! Brent is in fine form especially on Row Jimmy. And both drummers are off the hook on Used to Love Her.
  13. Park West 8/20/87. First in line at 4am, by 6am there was a crowd of maybe 100 people lined up, got the rail, big boss man opener, china Ryder second set, stella, most peaceful place to be. Waist high stage we could drape our arms on , nothing but the band 5 feet away. End of rocky mountain tour for me , 12 hr drive up from Tempe two nights earlier. Then the long desert drive home through Utah and western Wyoming getting to Laramie. Gas was cheap, nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile and dream of the next show which was eel river in Humboldt with JGB acoustic and electric, 3 sets for $15.00. When's that time machine coming?
  14. Cancelled all indoor shows and added 5 more drive in shows. Next indoor shows are 3 Mission Ballrooms in Denver October 2021. 7 night drive in run in September 2020. 3 at one venue then 2 at 2 other cities.
  15. We all know that if we were saying any of these tunes, or they even knew we were thinking of them, they wouldn't come close to playing any of them.
  16. Being America's band, they could have opened some sets with the Star Spangled banner
  17. Really nice Healy / Charlie Miller board of the 8/14/91. Crispy, chunky, into the dark with it
  18. Anything for today? This was the day off in 87 between Red Rocks and To Hell You Ride harmonic convergence shows
  19. 2020 the year of waiting for the refund to arrive instead of the tickets
  20. there goes the Robert E Lee could be applied to anyone losing something in life they cherished. Good literature applies to different contexts. I'm glad you brought this up. Jerry's TNTDODD has been rambling through my mind since all the destruction started. Whether certain songs can be played again will have a direct colleration with how much censorship comes down. Just finished multiple listenings of the 8/1/94 Liberty and really heard the words for the first time. I didn't buy into it in 1994 as the drift away started happening. I now look at it as the spirit world protecting me from what was about to happen a year later. Dropped me in the folds of emmylou to keep me keeping on without our gd tour guide
  21. 8/4/89 Cal Expo, my one and only set of shows there. I believe this is the one the had a Cumberland Ryder?. The Scarlet fire of this series is one of my favorites. Had to use a 100 minute to capture the pre drums
