And the filler actually started with Next Time You See Me for the quad pack fillerā¦ ātwas such a doozyā¦ All I can say is what a gift it is to have the opportunity to visit the dreamy space where there is a fountain that was not made by the hands of menā¦ May we all continue to be able to return there to fill our cups ā„ļø

Thanks for Chiming in Mikā¦ Love what you guys have been up to and have caught a few of your shows in recent years and thoroughly enjoyedā¦looking forward to a few more up the NW next month! Thanks for getting out there and keeping that music rolling š¤© -
I deduce that OtherOne is referring to Garcia Birthday Band from Portlandā¦they just played at the Crystal Ballroom to honor the 2/2/68 and 2/3/68 Crystal Ballroom showsā¦I bet it was fun š

Yeah Tea, exactly. He started the set off with the acoustic for the Dupreeās and somewhere mid Mountains switched to electric as the jam drifted toward the Dark Starā¦. And there was Cosmic Charlie to open the encore filler before the Hard to Handle (not before Bid you Goodnight) That has absolutely got to be the best Monday night this here sack of bones has ever experiencedā¦holy sheesh,,Ventura got the goods in a very cool small intimate venue (640 peeps) Full throttle all band craftsmanship leading the night through the most peculiar and wondrous caverns of outer spaceā¦ Skip was absolutely on fire and exercising leadership throughout the night on so many of the jamsā¦driving the train through such fantastic old school grease pitsā¦ Skip and Barracco were dialed in together tightly and carving all sorts of new ground together and clearly enjoying the hell out of it togetherā¦Those two held down and launched out a lot of the jams throughout the night and Barraco fully brought in the spirit of pigpen to the maxā¦King Beeā¦ahhhhhhhhā¦.Hey Judeā¦ahhhhhhhā¦.lovelightā¦ahhhhhhh Note that this show was the first of just 2 times (both 69) that Pigpen sang Hey Judeā¦and didnāt show up again til late Brent era. extremely thankful that our timing included this show on a Monday night after the 2 rippin electives in Del Mar and LAā¦back outta the game now til Seattle/portlandā¦ Thanks for such a good time down here in SoCal!!!!

Yes the opening duo thoroughly helped the night lift right offā¦love getting Let it Rock. The whole set had me hooked and the Gimme Some Lovin drop into All Over Now was brilliant followed by a thorough and raukus Tangledā¦ahhh Stranger ripped and Shining Star was just other worldly gorgeous beauty with Lisa belting it out along with Jeffā¦damnā¦ then dropped into a super slinky slow take your time jam into Not Fade āquite 76 style leaking over from Phoenix show it felt likeā¦perfectionā¦ It all rocked through set and New Speedway outta space ripped hard and then back into more beauty heart space with Two Soulsā¦damn this show was just what the doctor ordered with plenty of complex playing and jamming to chomp onā¦ First show since July Greekā¦think I can lose access a bit to just how good it can be until Iām back in front of it againā¦ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Fantastic 76er after the hiatusā¦love that show. This was the first Cosmic Charlie since 1/21/71 and just 5 more showed up ending with the one Tea mentionedā¦ Those Cosmic Chucks and Mission in the Rains (just played 5 times with GD, all in 76) help make 76 unique Although this 6/4/76 show was only show which had both of those beauties in same showā¦.š Glad you got a beauty DD!

Damn! Wish Iād been at that one!

Hereās to more 2-3 night runs in general out in the future š»!

Indeedā¦ I'm still surprised by how few double headers (and triple headers, for that matter) show up in the different toursā¦ multi-night runs seem so clearly advantageous for everyone involved on both sides of the rail, besides being a reflective methodology of the original Grateful Dead experienceā¦ meanwhile,,weāll joyfully take whatever we can get,,even when it means scurrying to pack up and leave a room by noon or so and hit the road to get to the next showā¦! But yeah,,been quite a few years since a double doozy in Seattle..:they had locked into Portland for that going into Covid but each tour seems to toss out its own surprisesā¦. nice carrot to have dangling out there going into the dark/wet seasonā¦š¤

Wow being at the Greek for this was an unforgettable experience and phenomenal way to experience that venue for the first timeā¦lotsa parrellels to the 2018 Red Rocks for DSOās first time. Being on the DSO train over the years is like being on a long extended hiking trip up in the mountainsā¦something as full on as hiking the Pacific Crest trail, for exampleā¦.ā¦itās an adventure packed with beauty and challenge and curiosity about what itās like up around the next bendā¦only to find yet another outrageously beautiful, expansive view with indescribable and pristine perfection splayed out in front of you,,.possibly even more glorious than the mind blowing view you had just a couple miles backā¦ There have been what seem like endless peaks, sublime mountain lakes, quiet gurgling streams, alpine meadows, marmots calling out from beneath the rocks, views into deep valleys, terrifyingly steep cliffs, thunder and lightning rainstorms to survive, exhaustion yet truly fulfilling exhilaration along with a bit of physical malnourishment at times within a journey that offers thick and drippy glimpses into timelessnessā¦. There have been many memorable high peaks along the way,,,and the Greek was a pinnacle experienceā¦a peak among peaks that will be hard to beat,,,but all the peaks have so much to offer in terms of expansive views and inspiring beauty. The Greek completely fucking kicked assā¦ How could the best band in the land not pour it on as thick as molasses and heat it up and pour it all over youā¦their first time getting to play such an iconic and gorgeous venue steeped with Grateful Dead history. I also feel like it always upās the ante when DSO plays in the Bay Area since it was the birthplace and home base for this music,,and history matters when it comes to the GD experienceā¦ With the juju of the venue and jehovahās favorite Choir ready to pop so many of our Greek cherries good and hardā¦our favorite band played the shit out of 7/13/84ā¦quite frankly, they fucking slayed it from start to finish. The beast that lives deep within the caverns of this music was fully unleashed and raged hard and strong as they worked their way through the intensity and sweetness of it allā¦the entire lower bowl below the upper grass area seemed to be dead silent during Stella Blueā¦the crowd seemed completely on board for the full shamanic cleanse throughout second set. Felt many times that we were in some sort of forgotten ritualistic cathartic festival of great human release in an ancient temple of sortsā¦ā¦ahhhhhhhhhhā¦..thatās why we chase this shit so hardā¦SOOOO freaking GOOOOOOOD!!!!! Of course the filler on top of the long and lofty Dark Star polished out the experience into a crystal clear gem with Lisa pouring it on thickā¦. i had a buddy who was way up at the top of the venue while we took it in down in close and he said when they dropped into Ripple he had to stop moving and drop into silence because the sound of the whole bowl of people down below singing together along with the band was drifting up the hill and landing in his ears as indescribable beauty and strong GD emotionā¦wowā¦. I want this hike in the high country to go on and on and onā¦.so much satisfying beauty behind and so much yet to be discovered out aheadā¦. Thank you DSOā¦your capacity to transform the human spirit through your musical skill cannot be described with words!!!! Let it be known there is a fountain That was not made by the hands of manā¦ ā”ļøš¹ā”ļø

Lofty beauty Eyes jam that just went on and on deep into timeless releaseā¦total relief from a world gone madā¦ Gimme Some Lovin> Black Peter achieved total perfectionā¦ I felt resistant to going indoors into a sellout after three outdoor fantastic shows,,but as soon as we stepped into the theater the vibe felt great and as soon as they kicked off into a solid 80ās show with the intensity of indoor sound, I was thoroughly stokedā¦ They replaced the sound system in there about a year ago and it showedā¦ somehow ended up with solid dance space even in the sold out spaceā¦ golden road on top of the Hurts Me Too beauty ripped out one more dance thrash festā¦ god damn,,what a fine run in Coloradoā¦ love it hereā¦ Big thanks to band and crew for all they do š¤Æ

Filler w/Lisa: Hurts Me Too š§” Golden Road š¤Æ My oh myā¦.

Meeting Rick Jr was one of the peaks of the evening for me actually,,,with his little hand clenching my pinky finger for a whileā¦what a nice touch after a fun spacious showā¦other peak was all of 2nd set,,especially Mission. iād say the Dark Star out of space was a bit more than a tease as they were in it melodically for like at least 5-6 mins exploring around but never fully dropping all the way in or entering into lyricsā¦Corinna out of that fucking ripped and then the drop back into St Stephen threw it over the topā¦ awesome spacious venue with plenty of room from rail to top of the grassy hillā¦š¤©
