  1. Took me almost entire first set to dance my way down to you. Blair’s bass indeed cranked. Spent most of night up out of dance floor so as to have whirl around space. Fun time. Venue reminds me of Newport in Columbus, OH
  2. I wonder what would happen if the committee took into account other pertinent team stats such as GPA, graduation rates, and % of players with arrest records. After all they are “student” athletes lol. Has been a joke a long time. It’s strictly business.
  3. That’s a bit harsh….IMHO the venue is worth the experience. I would compare to Red Rocks in stature. I did it this summer and am glad I did. Of course I paired it with DSO show the night before and got a 60’s treat. There is no band that has more visual material than the “dead” and that’s what the sphere is all about along with stellar sound. Of course even with selling all the Dead and Co. tickets (scalpers took haircut) the venue still lost its ass. Who would you like to see there? Above being said, now that I experienced it, I will not go unless I could parlay with DSO again.
  4. Caught first Saint in Glenn Falls and the Richmond split version…that tune came a long way. Hard to believe Lost Sailor bit the dust as Bobby thought it was too long?!…and somehow Desolation Row wasn’t.
  5. Caught Hyryder at Headliners on Friday night. Their usual solid performance. Songs swirling in my head but cannot even attempt any coherent set lists. Of note… 25 years and 10 months ago at this exact venue I begrudgingly went to my first show where the band played “entire Grateful Dead shows” ( “note for note” lol ). No current DSO band members on stage that night are current, save for Lisa. Long strange trip rolls on.
  6. With Romo and Dak they have had the top 2 overrated, overpaid QB in this millennium.
  7. I was in attendance as well… First set was: Bucket Tom Thumb Peggy O MAMU Big River On the road Again West LA Minglewood Werewoles Pride of Cucamonga Let it Grow
  8. My third GD show Thanks for the memories
  9. A national treasure, arguably playing live music to more people than anyone ever.
  10. Too rainy to trek to Indy Fri night but made the Saturday night show.. Help Slip* CatfishJohn Stagger Lee Lazy Lightning Supplication Eternity Eyes of the World Hard to Handle Slip* Franklins BIODTL Cryptical Other One Hell in a Bucket Cryptical Caution Dark Star I Need a Miracle Wang Dang Doodle All Right Momma Feel Like a Stranger Cold Rain and Snow OMSN * Slipknot teases between many of first set songs Not exactly sure of Caution placement and may have missed a tune. These guys are plain FUN…was asked to say “Hi” to Ed lol
  11. Proud to know the vast majority of names listed in these posts. Integral part of this long strange trip.
  12. I do remember those ads as well. This was my second GD show, really close to Staten Island where I was living but still had to walk final couple miles to venue made with semis and trainers lined up to form fence. No knowledge regarding Terrapin suite but the show was lengthy including Terrapin encore.
  13. 2 shows come to mind in the sparsely attended theme… Acoustic show in Kent, OH back in the JK days…even first row wasn’t filled. Cornmeal opening for DSO in I believe it was Oxford, MS also in JK days…I counted a total of 13 people. Both performances were fantastic. That’s why they are professionals.
  14. Happy Birthday….Fiji 2025!
  15. Wish I was there…Stone Pony that is (original my 2nd GD show!)
  16. Did sphere last night…so continuing thread drift… The immersion is very real due to the enormity of the graphics and spectacular resolution. Weaving in band shots enough coupled with great sound and seats vibrating to drums makes even looking at the stage unimportant. Since I was in nosebleeds maximizing immersion…stage was postage stamp in comparison. Dead forever exhibit was worthwhile and Shakedown in hotel ballroom lacked nothing from lot scenes except no food smells. Hotel opened bar for it, band played, and all usual goodies licit and illicit available. Back to thread…I did Dead & Co only because DSO was in town previous night. I’m glad I did it but have no desire to do Sphere ( with Dead and Co ) again…Can’t wait for DSO to come around…they didn’t need video to blow me away.
  17. Tea was accurate regarding the first set. 2nd set original recipe in same style…may be missing a tune Cold Rain MAMU St Stephen William Tell Eleven Alligator Caution Encore….Dancing in the Streets Absolutely phenomenal show…DSO at its best Lisa on harp for pigpen tunes with Rob B rappin away 2 drummers throughout
  18. Pulled trigger and assembled all the pieces to see Vegas show. Next night do a Sphere Dead & Co. since I’m there. Will be farthest west I’ve seen a DSO show. WTF it’s Vegas baby!!!
  19. I see 9/13 being in Richmond VA…
  20. I think I got Dino talked into Fiji.
