  3. Love this quote: Thereā€™s no way to measure his greatness or magnitude as a person or as a player. I donā€™t think eulogizing will do him justice. He was that great ā€“ much more than a superb musician with an uncanny ear and dexterity. He is the very spirit personified of whatever is muddy river country at its core and screams up into the spheres. He really had no equal. To me he wasnā€™t only a musician and friend, he was more like a big brother who taught and showed me more than heā€™ll ever know. There are a lot of spaces and advances between the Carter family, Buddy Holly and, say, Ornette Coleman, a lot of universes, but he filled them all without being a member of any school. His playing was moody, awesome, sophisticated, hypnotic and subtle. Thereā€™s no way to convey the loss. It just digs down really deep. - Bob Dylan

  5. It was a swift kick to the junk for sure...I wasn't surprised but I will still shocked if that makes any sense. It took me awhile to really enjoy other music since I couldn't connect to it like I wanted to - like I had. I accepted 'IT' was gone forever and then I found DSO - that was one holy crap moment!

https://relisten.net/grateful-dead/1990/07/21 By far one of the weirdest shows I ever saw - next-level weird. Thank god for that Scarlet > Fire. I was on the way to Pluto and that combo helped keep me from leaving the Milky Way. Tears of joy all the way through... Check out that Fantasy

  15. DSO and crew simply knocked it outta the park on one of the best stages! More importantly, it was clear to me that they were having the time of their lives up there! Just Wow. So happy for the DSO family - they deserve only the best. Itā€™s been a LONG winding road for them and their families. So kind to kick down a free webcast and the goosebumps started almost immediately! I obviously knew what they were going to play but I still found myself surprised as they would go from song to song. It was just so wonderfully produced and the sound was literally dynamite! The highlight of many highlights for me was the DSO family Drums! So cool to see that stage brimming with so much energy and love. It made me miss my DSO family more than a little but I kept coming back to how cool it must be for the band and crew to have that experience. I imagine it was a ton of hard work to pull it off but itā€™s always been a labor of love. DSO is a world-class band with a world-class crew - hands down! An amazing performance at an amazing place in front of a sold-out crowd. So happy for everyone who got to see the magic unfold.
  16. Iā€™m sure itā€™s all gonna be gravy. I wonder if they'll feel compelled to ā€˜finishā€™ the Dark Star - that might provide some insight. Go out and get it tonight !

  20. Iā€™m gonna see D+C in about a week. I so wish it was DSO on tap but Iā€™m hoping for a better effort from D+C then how their tour has started. The local radio station says: ā€œThe Grateful Dead and Company - together again! Playing all their hits from the last 50 years! Donā€™t miss this groovy experience!ā€ Oh brother.
