  1. Hell yeah, finally some hometown shows since moving to this area last year! And a birthday show to boot!! My last birthday show was 8-28-88, Eugene Oregon autzen stad, Grateful Dead, Robert cray band, jimmy cliff. Show was from 3pm to midnight, lol. I slept half the afternoon, haha. We were on no sleep from the Tacoma show 2 days earlier. ps: I’d like to request a recreation of 4-29-71 for Sat night…. Shocker huh?!?!?’

I would say the raving reviews are getting boring, but this band just brings it every show. If you can catch DSO for even one show, unless you’re a d-bag, the experience is going to be memorable. Louisville sets looked sweet. Wonder if the last show cut short for weather was the first jubilee in 2012? Looks like the band thoroughly made up for the short set Fri on Sat night. Giddy up!

    That’s my boy!!!!
  4. This was the first of 2 nights at the Roanoke civic center. My transmission took a shit on the side of the highway on the way to these shows. We hitched on to the shows and left the car. Glad we did. Both of these shows smoked! The crazy fingers from night 2 lingers in my mind as the best I saw. Went back to the gas station I left the car at a week or so later hoping to get about $500 for the car. After some hard core negotiations I accepted the gas station owners offer of $50. 😂😂😂😂
  5. Hey Bill, I lived on that big round domed mountain (Buffalo mnt) directly across the lake from the venue in Sliverthorne for a few years in the 80s and can confirm that amphitheater is about as epic a setting as you can find. Wish I had been there. Thanks for the report. So love all these killer musicians playing together again and having fun!!
  6. Looks just exactly perfect!!! Holy fucksticks.
  7. Oh, we gotta hit those bro! Book it Dan-O! Let’s drive! 😎😎

    It’s my right...😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
  9. Worth mentioning that if you were lucky enough to be in Frederick, MD 10/31/20 when they played 10/31/70, and then Cayce, SC 6/6/21 when they played 10/30/70 that completes the incredible 2 night stand at Pritchard Gym, SUNY with NRPS. What a special treat that there is only one way to get! Thanks DSO.

Good size group of backwoods rednecks who somehow found their way to the show.... the band is delicately noodling their way out of space into that gorgeous weather report suite and one of them yells out “Quit fuckin around and play some goddamn music. We been waitin long enough!!”. 🤣😂🤣😂
  11. The band reported this as the first time they’d recreated it. What a great night. I guess we were all so good Sat night, they pretty much dropped all security and safety protocols for Sun night. Pretty light crowd due to torrential rains earlier in the day and it being Sun night. Perfect set list right in the wheelhouse of my favorite era. Good sound, good video (stage was kinda dark and hard to see), pain in the ass to get beverages (thanks Mike!) my highlights were Cumberland and the pig songs, plus the cowboy songs, and most def the Stephen, fade sandwich. For you dancers show the point in the show where you can catch a breather. Haha, ain’t one. Thanks to the band crew and the smiling swirling angels that made my experience euphoric.
  12. Omit the truckin in the second set. I think....🤔😅🥴

Think we had a loose Lucy before BTW.
  15. I’ve got three words for the show... barefoot on grass!!! We tried to piece the list together but only got scrambled eggs. It was elective. What a ball. Light drizzle, all the dance space you could eat. Strange man encore was fucking stellar. Skip on fire and played percussion during space. Rob on acoustic for weather report. Eaton said they’ll do something tomorrow night they’ve never done.....🤔🤔
  16. This guys wife is standing nude in front of the mirror. She says “oh, my tits are sagging, and my ass looks flabby. Honey, tell me something I can feel good about.” He pauses, ... then says “well, your vision is perfect.”
  17. agree! We connected, can’t wait to dance with that fucker this weekend, haha!!
  18. That’s a “wow” set list. Giddy up, good times!!!!!
  19. Dylan fest, love it!!!! Hate Ed missed it!

“I get that the venue or Dso doesn’t want a WaPo story about them creating a super spreader event and doesn’t want to be put into the Ted Nugent category even though technically tennessee has eliminated most restrictions” Ted fighting the battle as we speak. Hope he flies thru it, but has a moment of reflection.

Haha, grate dancing with you brother. I think you spent some time in every pod in our section!! The vibe was just killer. Take away all those fucking ropes and sticks and it almost felt back to normal. ps: I forgot to mention that I heard no drop in Eatons mastery of the rhythm guitar work. My wife broke her wrist similar to Eaton about a month before he did and the recovery has been no joke. That dude mustuv worked his ass off to get to where he is now. Good job Rob 👍!

    Caverns #2

This show was smokin hot from bell to bell. That Cumberland in the first set bout took me out, 🥵. And damn them for following up with music never stopped (my heart almost did, haha). The second set brought the goods in a big way. I think Ed willed that St Stephen into the set list he wanted it so bad and to keep him humble it was sans William tell and the eleven (he wouldn’t have made it thru that, 😂). The drums/dark star space was unique and the perfect runway for a beautiful Wheel (my fav segue). Any show with a China doll is memorable to me and Jeff did not disappoint, jaw dropping delicate guitar work. Many thanks to the best band in the land with the best crew in the business!! ps: this night we had “my dad made me get this stupid job” security assigned to our section, haha. Our whole area was out of control and never said a word. pss: count my vote for Ducks boy to walk the stage at jubilation!

    The Caverns #1

The part of TN where the caverns are located (30 miles or so west of Chattanooga) is just gorgeous. The outdoor amphitheater was super nice with lush grass in the fields. Entry and exits were a breeze, no lines, no waiting. Nobody complied with the stupid “entry times” with back areas supposed to arrive at 5pm, lol. We were just starting to eat dinner at 5pm, then pregame til 6:30, then drive straight in, band on stage at 7:03. Sweet. We ended up in a cool little cabin rental with a nice backyard and fire pit. Made for some fun pre and post show gatherings. They had security assigned to sections, and as our luck would have it, we had a “thank god I finally got some authority” douchebag. Our POD was too fucking small for 6 people to be dancing in, and he wanted us inside the ribbon. So we “accidentally” broke our ribbon, haha. I swear, to me all the PODs seemed to be the same size. If all 6 of us stayed inside the ribbon and danced conservatively we would be longing for the wide open spaces of say, the Orange Peel in Asheville, 😂😂. Concession service was excellent and most all the staff were super nice. The 90s are not my fav set list era, but this show is an exception. The first set was a rockin good time with a noteworthy Loser wrapped by some great dance numbers. Second set, love Samson opener (my dogs named Samson), Pocky Way fun, then liftoff, haha. From estimated on it was a continuous stream of auditory bliss. Great dance time with some of my fav folks in the world. Lots of forum friends spotted and hugged, which felt great!!! Thanks band and crew for always putting on a show worth traveling for!
  24. Yes, they both look like people I wouldn’t hang out with.
  25. I was there Bill, but don’t remember running into you,...😂 we mustuv looked a good bit different back then.
