Thank God my agent talked me out of retirement because it woulda sucked to miss this spectacle. The Althea was dripping. Lisa made Masters of war her bitch. Damn that was good. The second set was a 2hr continuous dancefest. Good size crowd, not over packed as usual, so lots of groove pockets. This was a really fun departure from last 3 JGB shows, and I loved every note of it. The Tangled almost took me out.....😜

https://photos.app.goo.gl/IxEXLMxk2rHQBmqi1 What a beautiful city Birmingham is. The venue was in the industrial district, seemingly turning hipster district. Beer at the venue (avondale brewery) was quite tasty. Good local crowd, interesting mix. Quite a thick crowd for a Sunday nite, glad to see it. By the time they hit that gdtrfb, it was down to the ones that boogied down, and it was fun as hell. Despite a touch and go Uber ride back to the hotel, the city and venue are highly recommended.
  3. Thanks for the snacks. Sorry we couldn't figure out the lighting. Your efforts were noted. As it turns out, rush hour in Atlanta goes 24/7.

I think between getting lucky ol sun, don't let go, and tonight's sublime Russian Lullaby these last three days, I think I'mma go ahead and retire early. No chance of it getting better than this. So anyway,... Y'all take care.
  5. Don't let go, fucking thanks so much for that. It coursed thru my veins. Been yearning for that one. Indeed Tanya slayed the Bobby McGee. It was euphoric to the point of giving me full body chills. Sweet! The Maker, well it was a Mona Lisa for me. Speaking of Lisa, she stole my heart with Heart of Me ♥️. Really, really great time here and an excellent venue, great time with people that make me feel good.

Man that was some F'n fun. I really don't know where to start. From PG calling the opener, to stop that train, to a racious deal set closer. Harder they come second set opener, mission, AND LUCKY OL SUN (thank you, thank you, thank you) was gorgeous, and TANGLED, nuff said. Just one of the funnest shows I've witnessed in a while. Big crowd but ample space both in the back and in the ADA pit with Rude and his boot. The filler "set" brought the house down. Old school saint Stephen after that show, hahaha get the fuck outta here.
  7. Brother, the bus is, and always will be, sittin in frontov yo house with the motor runnin. We be waiting. Very patient like.
  8. A chilling high time before that 1970 darkstar and a raunchy st Stephen after. Loved it.
  9. It was greasy as hell.

With that set list my knees are buckling. No comment.
  11. I didn't say only 20% appreciated it, only 20% got the significance of what was happening. And that was a guess with a delta of +/- 7%. Me and sunny some of the only ones dancing upstairs tho. Suited me fine. Fewer obstacles.
  12. No, but it sounded better than saying they took an awesome set list and made it awesomer.
  13. To me one of the really cool things about DSO and maybe the reason they're not as mainstream a JRAD or dead co is nights like this. There were maybe 20% of the people who got what was going on and this was def not a "crowd pleaser" kind of show, but I think they played it cause they know many of us loyal fans are craving this early stuff, and also I bet it's fun as hell to play. This was the best of all the early music I've heard DSO do. Big boy Pete..... get the fuck outta here, that was some sweet shit!!! Oh I loved every minute of it.
  14. What a killer venue and the staff couldn't have been nicer. It almost seemed like they were happy we were there. As expected DSO takes a ho-hum 90s setlist and turns it to gold. The music 1st closer into HSF 2nd opener was sublime.
  15. Welcome to the party buddy! 😜
  16. To me, cilantro tastes like dishwater. Like used dishwater. I can't help that shit. I am made that way. Can you Mexican restaurants stop acting like cilantro is the second coming? That vile weed is in everything and it's putrid flavor can't be avoided.
  17. Ya see the cubs at wrigley, the knicks at the garden, the packers at lambeau, the gamecocks at Williams Brice, and the dead at the hc spaceship.
  18. But that would essentially say random thoughts and random. Totally excluding the randomless. I thought the way you titled it made ALL inclusive so no matter what you had to contribute, with or without random, you were welcome on this thread. Oh well guess I was wrong.
  19. What a sweet and touching rendition of that number. Love Matt and Rob together. Really nice tribute. 💔💔 😍 Thanks for sharing TR.
  20. Really a top ranking jubilee for me in so many ways. At the top of the list is the music! Three just sinister nights of something for every taste in the crowd. Thankfully for me, a healthy dose of early numbers in the 2nd sets of first two nights. Capping it with 5-28-77, shit, nuthin left to say. Except I love the people at jubilee and folks from this forum, you make the time so much more special.
  21. No rumpke, big lightning show instead.
