The discussion topic that never goes away. I am solidly in the recreation camp, and always have been, so I get Ben's point. By far the best DSO shows I have seen have been recreations. But then again at this point in their long journey I think my opinion may very well be in the minority. The biggest single upside to electives imho is you get to hear relatively obscure rollouts like World To Give more often than you ever did with the Dead. And a shout out to Visions which is one of the greatest songs ever written, and again something you hear more often because of elective shows.

Dr. Barry is spot on. This topic has been beaten to death but I am in and have always been in the Recreation camp. None of the electives have matched the intensity of recreations for me. Just a personal preference.
