76-78 jgb is my fav. Especially the slow stuff. "Making music together, in a world time forgot". I get lost in that shit. But....to each their own. I have my off nights while others have a great time....so many factors at play. The important thing to remember is that it's about perspective.

I'd better start practicing my left hand then....

I've got an accordion, I'll bring it to the next show.

Good query, Scotty. I don't think there is a name, not one I've heard- I think it's just part of the song. The progression goes C Bb F C This would fit perfectly into the shakedown jam. Forgive me bc my music speak is less than my ability to play but in Shakedown they are jamming over the C7 chord (key of F?). Naturally it would flow. Thanks, I'm taking this opportunity to learn GSET a little better

I always want to say more, to try and capture the magic felt in the fleeting moments of a show. While I dance to the cosmic sounds so many inspired thoughts traverse my mental landscape. For a minute everything seems to make sense. Generally after New year's run I've had so much fun and felt so much love that there is basically nothing left to say. Yet still I try... I won't try too hard. New year's run was amazing for me, Nye being the best. A perfectly crafted, multi-era, three set show. First set was short but hot- especially that shakedown. Set two was perhaps my favorite of the night. That 1/2 step was the best I've ever experienced. Comes a time outro jam really went places. And Dew? Set three was incredible in it's own right- especially That's it for the Other One. Twisting and turning, alchemizing (yes, I invented a new word), never getting boring while pushing the bounds of what and how music can be expressed. This band is clearly better than ever. And I thought they were the bees knees 15 years ago. I love you all very much! West coast shows beckoning soon.....

Let it grow somewhere in there...

Interesting that you heard 'two notes of Stella'. I heard them tease the 'under eternity' part of blues for Allah. Sometimes I have an active imagination... Maybe they bring back Eyes for tonight. I hope so.

Who is to say what is Grateful Dead and what is not? Perhaps you are letting your opinions clog your ears.... Or perhaps I'm just an asshole'. Carry on~

I vote for more terrapin nation or dso-jgb first sets...

The Stars are aligning for me to catch Mason's bday! In the strangest of places...

I saw them inside once when it was supposed to be outside. It was super humid and sweaty in that place. Outdoor is much preferred

Only two hours away and.... NOPE! DEWEY sucks

Yeah you wish you were here. The casino ballroom rocks- plenty of room even on a sold out night. Great crowd. Feeling the love~

Thanks for sharing your beliefs.

PG, I didn't know you were into a astrology (tho I'm not surprised). Of course you're Air! Interestingly, while Bobby's sun is in Libra, his moon, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are in Scorpio. I would expect a bit more reticence to share his trade but Mars is in the playful, 'look at me' sign of Leo. I'd like to see a full write up of each band member's natal chart and how they interact. Perhaps I will do it...

I've always wanted to go to this show

I'll more to say later after work. But for now I just to rub salt in the wound a little more. Really special show!

You know my body hurts.... Fantastically awesome. Amazing sound + 1970 show + tons of space = yay! This kind of show, both the setlist and space, are a rare treat.
