Listening to recording, the bass bombs are audible. But no recording can capture that visceral feeling of being there in the skip zone

I'm not ready to throw mdma in the same category as those other substances. Is it possibly harmful to health if over used? Yes. But the behavior that it elicits is loving. How to know if it's clean? There are tests for that.

Never seen a show end like this. I way confused. Word is that someone was passing around a vape pen with fentanyl in it. Seriously fucked up. Loved the Ship o fools and Stella
  6. First set OG Feedback> ChinA rider Hurts me too (Lisa) Cryptical>other one>alligator>other one>cryptical Drums Viola lee bluez Second set based off 69 set. April something. Figure it out. Lovelight> Me and my uncle> Top of the world> Dark star> St Stephen> The eleven> Lovelight E. Morning dew F. Easy wind If you like 69 dead this was it. Maybe the best 60s I've seen to date, especially the 2nd set. A perfect three nights. Happy to be a part of this circus, grateful to my friends and family and THIS BAND. Now to recoup until the Peak...

3-25-90 Having been around a few places and having heard a few things...I'll say....i have never heard a Bass Bomb like tonight during truckin. Holy smokes...that shit rearranged my dna. Wow. Big energy in the palace tonight
  9. I don't know where to start or finish....perhaps the beginning and the end.
  10. I saw Holly Bowling last night in Ardmore, PA. Fucking sick! I'm a keyboard player and i dream of being able to do what she does. What a journey, opening with Help>Slip and closing with Slip>Franklin's. The middle of the sandwich was wonderful. I didn't know any of the phish songs but they were fun to hear on piano. Highlights for me were the HSF, cassidy, big weather report suite, brokedown palace....feel like I'm missing something else too but it was all good. I'll see her again.
  11. Technically she hit the car behind us into us.
  12. Yes the weaving was wonderful!
  13. I would say that the greatest blessings can happen anywhere, anytime. I've been taking some time off this last year+ but i think I'd like to step it up a notch. No children in my immediate future and the world needs more dancing. 'Spirit through movement' as fuzzy Brian once said.
  14. Sometimes life after shows is so boring....

The Applegate show wss fantastic as well. I'm a fan.
  20. I took a beautiful drive down to Arcata yesterday to see Rob Barraco and the California Kind. Once again I'm blown away. Such prolific jamming. I really dig Katie's songs and her playing/stage presence (it doesn't hurt that she's beautiful). Last night i was particularly impressed with the interplay between Pete Sears on bass and Barry Sless on guitar, obviously honed from years of playing together on David Nelson Band. To me, Cali Kind is just a better version of DNB. No offense to anyone. Maybe Rob can post the setlist? There was a Tennessee Jed... Second that emotion...Sears sang John Barleycorn, a definite highlight. I like katie's song ' don't let me down', which if I'm not mistaken sandwiched an eleven jam. Rob sang some of his songs, all enjoyable but whose names i know not Round two tonight at the Applegate Lodge. Stoked!

Everybody has some section of the music that they like less. Do we need to identify it negatively to justify our feelings? Everyone feels to some extent that their preferences and opinions make sense. What is being called "junkie music" (and is that for the listener or because you think Jerry was doing heroin in 76?) I think of as deep and reverent music, honoring and stretching out the moment. Fine if you don't like it but no need to brand it.
