  1. I continue to amaze at the skill of our band to create the backdrop to life we all love. A night after delivering a raw mindbending 68, they return the following night as a fully mature 91, complete with Vinny-ish ivories from RobB. The Anthem emerges as a top flight venue, three levels of dancers paradise with bright sound at any location. I had so much space on the floor, security asked me several times to calm down. Let me be the first to motion for retiring 9:30. A personal highlight to meet Dr. Barry and Tea at the halftime praise gathering. Great to have a couple more friendly faces in the crowd. BTW, TJ, Music first set standouts. H>S>F>Esti>STAR worth the price of admission Praise DSO
  2. Jeff's renditions of the Dew are often epic Praise DSO
  3. A Thanksgiving tradition unlike any other. A well constructed, thoughtful and flawlessly delivered elective in front of a packed house at a welcoming venue. What's not to like? World To Give a treat. Solid first set selections. Playin>Birdsong off the hook. Praise DSO
  4. Back to back 85 GD20/1985 DSO20/2017 See you at the Peak Praise DSO
  5. Thumbing through DeadBase 11/8 a thin date, did come across this: 11/08/85 Community War Memorial, Rochester, NY Iko, Rooster>Peggy-o, Esau,BE Women, Baby What You Want>Jackstraw>Might As Well. Revolution, Estimated>Eyes>Drumz>Other One>Miracle>She Belongs To Me>Sugar Mags. E: Satisfaction To be chasing songs low on the frequency charts, this performance checks a lot of boxes. Satisfaction (31) total plays, Revolution (11), She Belongs (10), Baby What You Want (5). Brent did the Jimmy Reed cover 4 times and the fifth play was with Jorma on vocals 09/07/69 in Family Dog at the Great Highway. 1985 did produce some interesting setlists. Praise DSO
  6. "A leaf of all colors plays a golden string fiddle" In the headphones during yard detail Praise DSO
  7. TIGD&DSOH Show 738 State Theater, Falls Church, VA 11/1/02 recreating 11/1/85 Richmond, VA The boys slayed this show in the original and DSO did the performance more than justice in the retelling. Second set list off the hook, I remember the place an absolute asylum during the Gloria. One of many fantastic shows at State Theater before relegation to 9:30 Club Praise DSO
  8. From my vantage point- eighth row Jerry's side The 10/26/89 Dark Star was the best Star I ever saw, the boys made a point to end the tour with an epic version. The timing (26:46) was the longest post break out stand alone Star, a mindblower for sure. I tangled with a semi on the way down 95 in Jacksonville and the Bus limped into Miami. This Star made everything right with the world again. Praise DSO
  9. Tea, You touched on a subject for me as well with the 10/20/89 review. Never liked the Take You Home position in the show. Always wanted to get slammed out of space (OO,TRU,INM,WAT) Also felt out of space was a great spot to bust out (StS,CJ,DS) Loved Brent but TYH needed another home in the list. Praise DSO
  10. Jack Straw is a fantastic opener. Praise DSO
  11. 10/19/89 Spectrum Philadelphia, PA A powerhouse performance with the boys in fine form. Help>Slip>Frank Estimated>Eyes pre drums--tasty Ah, Fall 1989 Praise DSO
  12. 10/13/90 Ice Stadium, Stockholm, Sweden The longest journey this individual ever traveled for a show Planes, trains, and automobiles. A rather pedestrian performance to commence three weeks of chaotic bliss. Praise DSO
  13. Gambling is illegal at Bushwood. And I never slice. Praise DSO
  14. The spaceship was a cathedral to see a Grateful Dead concert. Praise DSO
  15. The Midnight Hour>Cumberland was worth the price of admission on that night. Praise DSO
  16. Diving deep into the songbook for that elective Praise DSO
