From 3000 miles away, looks like they blew out the Warfield with that pair. That music in that venue I'm sure was magic. Safe travels all, enjoy the ride. Praise DSO.

89/02/12 Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA Cold Rain, Hell in a Bucket, Row Jimmy, BIODTL>Promised Land, West LA, How Long Blues*, Gimme Some Lovin'*. Iko**, Monkey and the Engineer**, Alabama**, Dire Wolf**, Cassidy**, Memphis Blues**>Drumz***>Other 1>Stella>Foolish Heart. E:NFA**, Knockin'** * -with Spencer Davis, ** -with Bob Dylan, *** - with Kodo drummer final/last How Long Blues 70/08/19 (1236) final/last Monkey and the Engineer 81/10/16 (495) The final show of the 89 west coast winter shows, and one of the more unusual setlists. As far as I know, all the guests appearances were unannounced, adding to the freak factor. Spencer Davis killed the GSL, and the pre drums with Dylan provided several highlights. Dylan doing the Dead after the Dead doing Dylan in 87, The Bus floated back to SF after this one. Praise DSO.

Happy New Year to all, especially the large group of friends I have met this year. Our band certainly brings together some of the best people on this earth. Dance, spin and twirl for me in Montclair tonite. Praise DSO.

Any show with Viola is a good show. Praise DSO.

Just when you think attending these shows can't get any more awe inspiring, spiritual, or magical along comes a performance like the one our band gave us Friday at E-factory. Imagine my surprise as the 12/28/87 setlist unfolded, having just discussed this show in the TIGDH page. The magic dust just poured over me all night long, remembering all the memories of the original performance. Musical highlights for me were Masterpiece. Cumberland, and the Truckin' crescendo jam, which was other worldly. I shared the evening with a great group of friends, including back of the rack appearances (Herdy), new parents (Rick and Wendy), tried and true (Rude, Sammi). Love sharing dance space with like minded individuals. Safe travels to all and Happy New Year. Praise DSO.

Don't discount the lack of Tea at the E-factory. If your gonna hang with Tea at a show, you better bring your A-game. I know he would not have let me clam jam my way through Row Jimmy at the Anthem, Of course, I was completely outer limits for that show, and couldn't stop myself from dancing around like a crazed lunatic. Praise DSO.

12/28/87 Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA Feel Like A>Franklin's, Minglewood, Row Jimmy, Far From Me, Masterpiece, Sugaree>Hell In a Bucket China>Rider, Cumberland, Women>D>S>Wheel, Truckin'> Smokestack>Black Pete>Sugar Mags>Sunshine. E: Black Muddy River. IMO, the best show of the 87 NYE run. These were my first west coast shows, and this one was a mindblower. First set inverted opener closer, the only time a saw Bucket as a set closer, it worked well there. The China>Rider, Cumberland sequence off the hook and the post drums was dreamy, including one of two Smokestack for these eyes. We were skipping back to the Comfort Inn for partying that night, with a day off and two more shows to go. After the shows, me and my friend Pete stayed at my dad's company condo at Keystone for five days of skiing. Some winter break, ah memories. Praise DSO.

Seas have parted and I will attend tonight's show. Any intel on the parking situation at the venue? Haven't been to E-fact in a few years and remember there was a venue lot, but it was full by the time I got there. Where's the forum dance party happening inside? Would love to see any and all I'll be rockin the O's cap and seeking Julie Andrews space. Praise DSO.

12/16/92 Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA Stranger, Brown-Eyed, Same Thing, Loose Lucy, Memphis, Row Jimmy, Let It Grow. Shakedown>Samson, Ship>Playin'>D>S> Dark Star(v2)>Watchtower>Stella>Good Lovin'. Casey Jones. 4th of 5 in 7 days in Oakland on the comeback trail from medical malfunction 2. The shows had that 'gift of life' tone, but this performance stands slightly above the rest in the run. You can feel the big man's heart through the whole show, which is far from perfect, but perfect in its imperfection. The Casey Jones encore was the only west coast play of the 4 total plays after the breakout in 92, the rafters were shakin' for that one. Praise DSO.

Second set pre-drums about as good as gets for the era. Praise DSO.

Saint Stephen played three times in 1983 after a 352 show absence. 10/11/83 MSG 10/15/83 Hartford 10/31/83 San Rafael I did shows with a guy whose first two shows were MSG and Hartford, and was like "so they play this St. Stephen song every nite" timing is everything. I also love that the Anthem thread won't die. Praise DSO.

Rest assured I was a zombie battling the cramp monster for the 24 hours after the show. Sounds like you guys had a Uber adventure on the way home. No glitter ball though. Praise DSO.
-
Blushing. Dance like the its the last show you'll see. Reflect the band's lifeforce. Love you guys. Praise DSO.

In a world of conflict and division, what a blessing that a group of musicians exist to uplift an audience, take them on an exploration of every phase of the human condition, return them to the start of it all and ask did you enjoy the ride? The answer, an emphatic yes. The perfect marriage of band and venue occurred for a second time in DC last night, and the experience did not disappoint. A retelling of 6/9/73 (w/ GS and China>Rider shifted to set 2) ran through a large chunk of the library at the time, tried and true. The band exuded last show of the tour energy with every song, and flawlessly delivered all 27 songs. China>Rider absolutely killed. Eyes>China Doll>Sugar Mag close heavenly and filled with Julie Andrews space after some of the riff-raff departed. I enjoyed the evening with the best group of friends, both old and new, a person could ever hope for. The forum was well represented at the Anthem last nite. Safe travels all. Praise DSO.

I know it is a point of contention around here, but our band has earned the right to do anything they want. That is a fantastic list with tons of potential fun. Mmm, Cats Encore. Praise DSO.

Hard to argue the quality of this Boston Garden run. I wore out my tape of the Help>Slip>Fire on 91/09/20. Praise DSO.
