You are killing it out there Dharmada. First set was one of my early cassettes. Thanks for the update for a rainy East Coast. Enjoy the Warfield, great venue. Praise DSO.

In 2003, our band played Bay Center in Dewey, DE after a day of severe thunderstorms. Maybe 50 people showed up. The dance space stretched for days. Praise DSO.

Chasing songs I had not seen motivated heading to the next Dead show. Being a Touchhead, plenty of the boys songs were inaccessible, until a band named Dark Star Orchestra came into my live. I spent years with the Dead longing for the songs I slowly realized I was not going to get. Recently, I wondered how many songs in the Dead library were DSO able to add to the frequency chart. Broke out the Dead Base the other day, an amazing 46 songs. Songs ranged from 'common' St. Stephen to 'hardly touched' Golden Road. Atlanta gave me Big Boy Pete and Frederick 2019 yielded Day Tripper, both a complete joy to hear, among the 46. The first Viola at the Ledges was a revelation. Which songs were you thrilled to hear DSO perform, that the Dead did not provide. Feel free to share. Praise DSO.

I doubt Belichick will forget the TD pass to an offensive lineman when you were up 40-10. Praise DSO.

Last year's weather was pretty bleak. I suppose appropriate for the year. Praise DSO.

Saw shows at both, and both still stand. The boys played 66 shows in Oakland Arena, topping their frequency chart. Praise DSO.

Did shows at Hartford, Copps, Knickerbocker, Oxford Plains. All still remain. Never visited the remaining, Nassau, World, still standing. McNichols, Poplar Creek, and Joe Louis are indeed toast. Praise DSO.

Saw three shows there in 1989, and was surprised it was still there. Praise DSO.

Keep that information flowing, Avl Dug. Praise DSO.

Thumbing through DeadBase the other day, a thought crossed my mind. How many venues did I see the Dead at that are no longer functioning? Several googles later I had my answer. Sixteen. Let us stroll down memory lane. 1. JFK Stadium 2. Spectrum 3. Cap Centre 4. Giants Stadium 5. Foxboro Stadium 6. Richfield Coliseum 7. Pittsburgh Civic Center 8. Miami Arena 9. Orlando Arena 10. Charlotte Coliseum 11. Irvine Meadows 12. Cal Expo 13 Pyramid Memphis 14. RFK Stadium 15. Brendan Byrne Arena 16. Kaiser Convention Center The Pyramid is now a outdoor theme hotel, Kaiser is being fought over in Oakland, Brendan Byrne is closed and RFK is waiting to be demolished. The other 12 are history. Cal Expo is a soccer field and Richfield is just a field. Amazingly, all the Europe 90 venues stand, although the ICC in Berlin had an extensive asbestos problem. Feel free to add your additions below. Praise DSO.

Enjoying the thread drift. I scored 24, grandma had a farm. Happy New Year all. Praise DSO. -
We had several dance parties at hotels, and the biggest one was 98/12/31. We had three sets that night (on tape), and that set was set two of our NYE celebration. The first set wrapped in a second set, the set closed with China>Rider, a perfection construction to be between a first and second set. Venue was a conference room, we dropped balloons and an absolute mountain of confetti, which I am sure they are still vacuuming up today. Good times. Praise DSO.

Nice thread subject pivot, JohnA. Got me to thinking about openers I had personal experience with, and the first that came to mind, while not an all timer, blew the doors off out of the gate. The 90/03/14 CRS/Stranger tour opener at the Cap Centre left our group gasping for air and mouths agape. Little did we know what we were in for at that three show run. Praise DSO.

Late March not 70 in Portland, ME? Pack the good puffy. Praise DSO.

88/12/11 Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA Set One Iko, Jack Straw, Row Jimmy, Queen Jane, Bird Song, Hell In A Bucket. Set Two Box of Rain, Victim>Foolish Heart, Women Are Smarter>Drums>Space>Miracle> Dear. Mr. Fantasy>Hey Jude Finale> Black Muddy River>Sugar Magnolia. E: Mighty Quinn. The item that caught my eye was the placement of the BMR. Of the 66 total plays 9 migrated to the second set. Of those 9, only 2 seeped into the Jerry ballad slot (&87/3/29 Spectrum, Greg). Rarely hear much about these shows. Let us celebrate every time the Big Man took the stage. Praise DSO.
