  1. 25/02/17 Dance Lab Set One 82/08/07 Alpine Valley Music Theatre Music>Sugaree>Music, Me & My Uncle>Big River, Must Have Been the Roses, CC Rider, Ramble On Rose, BIODTL>On the Road Again, Althea, Let It Grow. Set Two 71/04/13 Scranton Catholic Youth Center Casey Jones, Mama Tried, Loser, Big Boss Man, Me and Bobby McGee, Bertha, Cumberland Blues, Big RR Blues, Playin' in the Band, Hard to Handle, Sugar Magnolia. Set Three 74/07/31 Dillon Stadium Hartford, CT To Lay Me Down, Truckin'>Mind Left Body Jam> Spanish Jam>Wharf Rat>US Blues, Saturday Nite. E: Uncle John's Band. Piercing the dark winter cold, BDP 25 provides the sanctuary of warm audio delights. Opening stanza an untouched BDP year, the Roses and CC Rider early standouts, a gooey Althea preceding a similiarly strong Let It Grow highlight the uneven first. Second an amazing snapshot of the band in transition, Mickey's recent departure and Pig's decreasing contributions, with Jerry and Phil rushing to fill the sonic voids. The band's play an unstoppable freight train of energy. Primitive versions of new material- Loser, Bertha, Playin' (5 min), along with the set highlight, a hammered H2H, which display the virtues of others from April 71. Closing sequence a Wall of Sound dreamworld, an over the top 18 minute Truckin' melting into Mind Left Body (was feeling you Tea)>Spanish Jam, Garcia going alphadog for a good thirty minutes. Most impressive. Music started at 9:30P, wrapped around 2:00A with full post show silliness and the 6A fresh donut run. Big Fun. Praise DSO.
  2. Get some gr8ful pair. Awesome show review. Praise DSO.
  3. Love that first set. Praise DSO.
  4. Quite the variety pack there. Praise DSO.
  5. Hey FREE delivery. A while back I had thoughts of acquiring a DB50 for the updates and all the Jerry Band, Ratdog material. Costs were similiar, I found I could live with DBX. Praise DSO.
  6. Foggy morning coffee with 76/09/24 William and Mary. Wormhole thoughts regarding Help on the Way. To DBX. Played 110x. 75-77 27x. Shelved for 401 shows. 83-85 27x. Shelved for 284 shows. 89-95 56x. Played every year. Interesting there were more plays after the 'breakout'. All 27x plays between 83-85 located in the second set. Led to associated wormhole, how often was H>S>F interrupted? EVERY Help followed by Slipknot. Slipknot NOT followed by Franklin's a total of 8 times. Slipknot appeared twice in 1974 as a stand alone (6/20, 7/25). Slipknot>Music 75/09/28. Lindley Meadows. Franklin's Tower played several songs later. Slipknot>Fire on 91/09/20 Boston Garden. The only instance of separation after 76/12/31. Franklin's Tower not played. Left are four occurances of Slipknot>something else, all in 1976 and all followed by Drums. 1. 76/09/24 William and Mary Help>Slipknot>Drums>Slipknot>Franklin's. 2. 76/09/27 Rochester Help>Slipknot>Drums>Other One>Wharf Rat> Slipknot>Franklin's. 3. 76/10/09 Oakland Stadium Help>Slipknot>Drums>Samson and Delilah> Slipknot>Franklin's 4. 76/12/31 Cow Palace Help>Slipknot>Drums>Not Fade Away. No Franklin's Tower this evening. The Rochester and Oakland shows read like something JRAD, Holly Bowling, or perhaps our band would do in elective form. More evidence of the 'anything anywhere' setlists of 1976. End Wormholes. Praise DSO.
  7. Walking the Dog? Damn. Praise DSO.
  8. During the Grateful Dead years, tracking setlists was an obsession. Obviously, there was no instant information portal, and unless you wanted to wait for a Dupree's Diamond News or Golden Road, first hand accounts were best avenue to accurate records. I attended night education classes at Maryland and met a fellow Head. One night after class he showed me these scrapbooks he had made to follow his shows. Dates, venue, lists with stubs, stickers, pictures, etc. relating to occurrances that evening. He was a few years older, and had seen some fantastic shows starting at Stanley Theater 81. I was immediately hooked. Bent my handwriting for more ornate setlists. Collected the Calvin and Hobbes comics from the Washington Post. We did our books together during a run at Cap Centre. Good Times. Every show I had pen and paper, Transscribe into the book, glue in the stub, and couple Calvin's or the sticker someone put on your shirt at the show. Looking back on them now such a lovely stroll down memory lane. Today's open question, to what degree was your Grateful Dead show attendances documented? How about your DSO show attendances? One long beautiful blur? A stack of ticket stubs? Can you identify every show you were at? Feel free to share. Praise DSO.
  9. 1987 Thirty Trips Around the Sun entry, Praise DSO.
  10. You have no idea. True hallway show. Praise DSO.
  11. We were out there last year, the Menlo Park show the toughest DSO ticket I had ever seen. Miracle forces got me in the door. Thank you for the stream. Praise DSO.
  12. Two years in a row the Left Coast got the early 69 goods. Napa last year. Praise DSO.
  13. Please consider my attendance at the Wilkes Barre shows during set list formulation. Thank you. Praise DSO.
  14. Replies from Doc and Chuckvegas warms the heart. Great start to the day. Praise DSO.
  15. There is that Mountains of the Moon. Praise DSO.
  16. Would imagine you have me by a couple hundred shows. I muster about ten a year. Praise DSO. I excluded a few "Jam" songs, China Cat jam, Dark Star jam, when working this exercise. Got Gloria at State Theater recreating 85/11/01 Praise DSO.
  17. Listening to transition to the Eleven while cleaning my bathroom on a grey Sunday morning, I recalled Tea for a time had this song as a white whale in his show attendances. Mind wandering began. DSO has provided so much material I would have never seen if not for the continuation of the Grateful Dead concert experience. What's left to see? Off to the wormhole. All information from DBX, so they maybe a play off here and there. I started with the yearly play summary in the DBX, which does exclude some 1/2/3 GD play songs (looking at you Money, Money, Card Board Cowboy, Master's Bouquet, sorry Greg) so there is a line in the sand as far as deep the catalog we look. Songs I had for sure seen the first filter and 76 songs remained to be seen. DSO setlists found 23 songs I had seen but was not sure, this was a super fun activity, scrolling through setlists searching for certain songs, finding out I actually saw Don't Need Love at the 9:30 in 2016. After those two filters, 53 songs remained to be seen. Songs were grouped in five groups: Acoustic, Played less than 10x by DSO, Played More than 10x by DSO, Never Played by DSO, Never Played by DSO the Late Years. Numbers after songs are GD Played/DSO Played. Acoustic: (10) I prefer electric, but could have gone to Hamilton and cross many of these off the list. All Around This World 18/1 Ain't No Lie 13/10 Cold Jordan 12/6 Heaven Help the Fool 17/21 Katie Mae 11/10 Rosaslie McFall 16/8 Sadie 6/3 Silver Threads 17/6 Swing Low 8/14 Wake Up Little Susie 14/21 DSO outpacing the boys on a couple of these. Played Less Than 10x by DSO (15) Baby What You Want 5/2 Bottom 9/3 Eternity 44/4 Hand Jive 6/9 Hey Bo Diddley 5/4 Hog For You 4/3 How Long Blues 4/2 Louie, Louie 8/2 Stealin' 4/2 Superstitous 8/2 Thin Man 8/1 That Would be Something 17/3 Walkin' the Dog 6/4 Way to Go 92/4 Who knew Way To Go Home was done four times, and once with Vince sitting in. And they did Eternity, hello 1999. Played More Than 10x by DSO (8) Green Green Grass 18/21 He Was Friend 17/21 Man's World 11/21 Mason's Children 18/18 Mountains of the Moon 12/27 Picasso Moon 77/35 New Potato Caboose 26/15 Tomorrow Is Forever 10/15 Psst. White Whale Alert. Never Played By DSO (9) Born Cross Eyed 13/0 Cream Puff War 8/0 Hi-Heeled Sneakers 5/0 Long Black Limousine 7/0 Seasons 5/0 She's Mine 4/0 Slew Foot 9/0 Standing on the Corner 4/0 You Don't Have to Ask 5/0 My life would be complete with a Cream Puff War. Never Played by DSO The Late Years (10) All Too Much 6/0 Baba O'Riley 12/0 Childhood's End 8/0 Easy Answers 44/0 Matilda 6/0 Samba In the Rain 38/0 Shoe Fits 17/0 Take Me 4/0 Want To Tell 7/0 Wave To Wind 21/0 Sure most like to block out this group, I managed to only duck Want To Tell. Did run the Samba ugly dog fanclub, someone had to do it. So back to the original question, What's left to See? The group of songs played more than 10x by DSO the best target group. Hard to believe I have not caught a Picasso, not really white whale material though. A friend is chasing Mason's Children, so will leave that one for him, and by the way keep playing that one. Mountains of the Moon and New Potato Caboose worthy of whale status. I'll add Walkin' the Dog from the less than 10X DSO plays and reaffirm my deep desire to experience Cream Puff War. Give yourself a gold star if you made it this far and feel free to share your own white whale stories below. Again Thanks Band and Crew. Praise DSO.

  23. Finally got around to watching this on DVR, pretty neat stuff. The mention of Jerry got a nice round of applause. David Letterman did a fun discourse on the band. Various artists did Friend of the Devil, Ripple, Sugaree Not Fade Away closed the show. Praise DSO.
