  1. Last Wednesday saw JGB at the Hamilton in DC. Spent the first few songs super close to Melvin on the keyboard side, watching him spin the gospel, great stuff. Moved back for space of various size and location the rest of the evening. JK in fine form, such a natural pairing with Melvin. Cats, Goin' Down the Road first set standouts. Scarlet>Reuben a bouncy fun jump to the second. Perfect midweek escape. 25/03/26 JGB, Hamilton, Washington DC Second That Emotion, Wonderful World (Cooke), Evangeline, Mississippi Moon, Quinn the Eskimo, Cats Down Under the Stars>Drums>Goin' Down the Road, Let Me Roll It. Scarlet Begonias>Reuben and Cherise, Money Honey, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, No Women No Cry, Waiting for a Miracle, Midnight Moonlight, Sisters and Brothers, I Was Made To Love Her (Jam). Praise DSO.
  2. It wears off after a few days, then a big package of happiness shows up at your door in a couple months. Praise DSO.
  3. Careful not to burn your foot.
  4. Some escape story there Tea. In 90, we stayed outside Buffalo and actually commuted the two shows, about an hour each way. I do not recall any heavy handedness reentering either time. Hard to believe in a VW Bus plastered with stickers and loaded with six tourheads. Praise DSO.
  5. Eggroll sales were very strong both nights at Hamilton 90. Security for the most part very tolerable from what I can remember. Praise DSO.
  6. Breakfast must be made. It is the most important meal of the day. Praise DSO.
  7. ❤️❤️❤️. Glad you made it Mango. Praise DSO.
  8. 93/03/17 Capital Centre Landover, MD Shakedown Street, Wang Dang Doodle, Lazy River Road, Desolation Row, Ramble On Rose, Eternity, Liberty. Picasso Moon, Crazy Fingers>Playin' in the Band> Jam>Dark Star (V1)>Drums>Space>Two Soliders Jam>Other One>Days Between>Good Lovin'. E: Lucy in the Sky final/last Two Soliders Jam 90/09/12 [172] first Lucy in the Sky Member of the Enjoying the Ride boxset. List littered with newer songs of varying ages. #5 Lazy River, #4 Liberty, #4 Eternity Days Between #3. And the debut of LSD. The usual suspects gathered at Portal 5 to dance the night away. Praise DSO.
  9. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Look at that, one thing that still works over here. Praise DSO.
  10. Sturdy elective there. Quite the opening triad. A big fan of Help/Slip/Stranger. Praise DSO.
  11. Under represented early eighties getting some needed attention. The Kaiser 85 selection a personal favorite--with its Big Boy Pete opener, Midnight Hour closer, Walkin' the Dog encore along with the final She Belongs. While no ones first choice, also looking forward to the Vinny picks as well. The Cap Centre 93 was the Lucy in the Sky bustout, versions of several later songs dot the playlist. Praise DSO.
  12. Will be a sizable chunk of new selections. Praise DSO.
  13. The yearly boxset from the Dead dropped recently, a wide spanning 60 disc set focusing on 20 venues known for producing inspired performances from the band. 17 complete shows, 3 compliation venue runs and lots of fillers from other shows at the same venue. I am incapable of passing on any of these boxsets- they are just so neat. This one is a beast. Have been following the converstion on a Steve Hoffmann thread and there is plenty of critical comments concerning this release. Too pricey, wrong shows, wrong years, strange concept, etc. I enjoy all the official releases, amazing record of genius. Opening the floor for comments. Praise DSO.
  14. 90/03/14 Cap Centre
  15. Was unfamiliar with the Band song in the encore slot. Did they play that in addition to Piece of My Heart? Imagine space? Just wondering and felt like giving your cage a rattle. Have a great weekend. Praise DSO.
  16. What the hell, Tea? Inaccurate setlists? Spreading Untruths? Quite the layered sandwich of a second. Those midweek shows can be sneaky. Praise DSO.

    Wilkes Barre #1

Passenger mashed. Business picked up in The second. Comes a Time elegantly delivered. All powerful elective tonight probable. Praise DSO.
  19. Enjoyed the original. An underappreciated year, IMO. See you tonight in Wilkes Barre. Praise DSO.
  20. Happy Birthday Terrapin Station. Praise DSO.
  21. 25/02/17 Dance Lab Set One 82/08/07 Alpine Valley Music Theatre Music>Sugaree>Music, Me & My Uncle>Big River, Must Have Been the Roses, CC Rider, Ramble On Rose, BIODTL>On the Road Again, Althea, Let It Grow. Set Two 71/04/13 Scranton Catholic Youth Center Casey Jones, Mama Tried, Loser, Big Boss Man, Me and Bobby McGee, Bertha, Cumberland Blues, Big RR Blues, Playin' in the Band, Hard to Handle, Sugar Magnolia. Set Three 74/07/31 Dillon Stadium Hartford, CT To Lay Me Down, Truckin'>Mind Left Body Jam> Spanish Jam>Wharf Rat>US Blues, Saturday Nite. E: Uncle John's Band. Piercing the dark winter cold, BDP 25 provides the sanctuary of warm audio delights. Opening stanza an untouched BDP year, the Roses and CC Rider early standouts, a gooey Althea preceding a similiarly strong Let It Grow highlight the uneven first. Second an amazing snapshot of the band in transition, Mickey's recent departure and Pig's decreasing contributions, with Jerry and Phil rushing to fill the sonic voids. The band's play an unstoppable freight train of energy. Primitive versions of new material- Loser, Bertha, Playin' (5 min), along with the set highlight, a hammered H2H, which display the virtues of others from April 71. Closing sequence a Wall of Sound dreamworld, an over the top 18 minute Truckin' melting into Mind Left Body (was feeling you Tea)>Spanish Jam, Garcia going alphadog for a good thirty minutes. Most impressive. Music started at 9:30P, wrapped around 2:00A with full post show silliness and the 6A fresh donut run. Big Fun. Praise DSO.
  22. Get some gr8ful pair. Awesome show review. Praise DSO.
  23. Love that first set. Praise DSO.
  24. Quite the variety pack there. Praise DSO.
