  1. Saw Dead on Live at The Capitol Theatre play their "Wonderland 74" show last night, accompanied with a smaller scale replica wall of sound. Fun show, good band. They were very happy to be playing The Cap for the first time. Set List: 1: Promised Land, Sugaree, Truckin' > Drums > Drums/Bass > Other One > Cryptical reprise, China > Rider, Casey Jones, Stella Blue, 1/2 Step 2: UJB, Eyes > Playin', Dew, BioDtL, Scarlet, OMSN E: Sugar Mags > AWBYGN

  2. Gotta finish the category 12/14/90 https://archive.org/details/gd1990-12-14.sbd.miller.89127.sbeok.flac16 I. Shakedown Street, Picasso Moon, El Paso, Little Red Rooster, Stagger Lee, When I Paint My Masterpiece, To Lay Me Down, Let It Grow II. Victim Or The Crime-> Foolish Heart, Women Are Smarter, He's Gone-> Drums-> Jam-> Dark Star (v2)-> I Need A Miracle-> Wharf Rat-> Turn On Your Love Light E: Knockin' On Heaven's Door smokin show. Gets marked down by some because of the setlists of the previous night. Take a listen to TLMD - holy Crap! That LIG is great - Phil bombs everywhere in that tune and the one at the end nearly broke my rib-cage. Foolish Heart is excellent and the best Women I’ve ever heard. The jam in there is worth a listen! Simply awesome guitar work. As lovelight was at the frenzy finish, a girl hopped up on stage, started spinning and then fell back into the crowd! I’m sure there’s video... Knockin had become pretty perfunctory - not this one. Jerry just goes next level. As it ends, the place is goin nuts and Jerry gets off a few waves before dissolving into the darkness of the stage.

  3. That Ram's Head forum family dance party was a memorable evening! Coming hard on the heels of JK's departure the band gave us what we needed. If it wasn't the breakout of "Cold Jordan" it was mighty close. That was some sacred material. And the Fox Theater '06 with the triumphant Terrapin Nation set and the two huge DSO elective sets was quite the night. It may be time for them to start considering recreating electives.

  4. I don't believe there is a consistent pattern. Just when you think it's one thing, they do the opposite. Kuddos to Eaton for keeping us on our toes. If there as a code to be cracked, we would have cracked it. Additionally, for the record, BM last year was a 77 second night and Elective first. DSO hasn't recreated a NYE show on NYE since 2014 when they did 84 I think? Personally I'd much rather an elective. My fav NYE shows over the years have been....09 Mattson's first NYE, utter psychedelic meltdown and a forum family private dance party in an obscure balcony of the Ram's Head 2013 in Long Island. Great Elective with an epic dance party in the back balcony. 2015 at Efactory. maybe one of the greatest shows I've seen period. Mostly early style elective, acoustic first set. 2017, last year, was really great too. Another Elective. But I'm intentionally missing NYE this year for the first time since Denver 06. Hanging out home with Friends instead. If i had to guess, i'd say in philly will be one Elective and one recreation, with the Elective highlighting songs of the Recreation's era that weren't played. Elective first, then a late 80s. Looking forward to these shows!

  5. The lyrics were so appropriate, fitting for the place in life Jerry was at. Sung with raw emotion. It wouldn’t have sounded as good coming from a healthier, younger, better voiced Jerry. The song fit the condition he was in. He knew better than anyone just how bad he felt, how close he was. He had a great run and he fucking nailed the dismount!
